Im not saying I believe it, but according to homologation protocol the Lotus should have the same exact engine as the works Mercedes team. What Lotus won’t have is the engine mapping, gearbox, etc. that the Mercedes has, that gives them their current competitive edge. I don’t think I’m quite the conspiracy theorist Felipe Massa is… I remember a few years ago, the McLaren-Mercedes was way more competitive than the works team. This seems to fly in the face of the thoughts Massa has posed.
