Introduce an MFD to make changes during a race

In past Forza Motorsports, what you could do with a car to change its characteristics was locked once the “Start Race” button was selected. This does not align with real-life racing, where drivers can make adjustments to the car, like differential lock speed, power distribution in AWD cars, fuel maps, lights and assist strength (TC, ABS, STM), in the middle of the race. While it is understandable why a Multi-Function Display system has not been added to Forza Horizon games as a) some of the settings are not entirely relevant to the game b) there is likely limited input space to add it on controller layouts. However, an MFD system should be adopted in the Forza Motorsport series because all the settings described above can add to the simulation aspect of the game, increase the quality and enjoyment of play, and there is more availability for this system to be implemented (the d-pad is currently not used in Forza Motorsport gameplay). This system would allow the player to make adjustments on-the-fly, without the need to go into the settings to make an assist change because maybe you need some TC to prevent you from spinning your 500 hp GT3 car into a barrier as its tires are going off a cliff. The use of the mode switching options for race modes, convertibles, and drivetrain modes in Forza Horizon 5 was a step in the right direction for a deeper implementation in the upcoming and highly anticipated Forza Motorsport.

making those changes should require you to have to make a pitstop during the race which may only be feasible in the longer endurance races. drivetrain changes doesn’t really fit with the motorsport series since the use of awd is limited to mainly the wet track races.

Yeah, wasn’t saying that drivetrain changes should be implemented, just that the fact that the ability to change the characteristics of a vehicle like a DC was a welcome addition to Forza.

Adjustable central diff could possibly get close to that, gt has had this since the ps3 games. Also did tc, abs, sc and brake ballance.

Forza Motorsport in general does not align with real-life racing. I doubt they would develop such a feature, as well as it would’ve any impact on the driving experience. Forza has never been that realistic, and probably never will be. This is yet another discrepancy between the sim racing community and Microsoft’s / Turn 10’s goals with the franchise. This is geared to be a casual racing experience with some real-world elements, but nothing more. The game’s role is rather to sell more consoles and Game Pass subscriptions, promote “raytracing”, and other marketing goals. I doubt we’ll find such dedication towards sim racing here.

Yes MFD is the way to go for a next gen title it allows players to be more strategic in racing also gives the players the power to switch between map tunes traction control and ABS control during a race and not having to go into the settings to select it please turn 10 we are begging you to add this feature in the game
