i don’t understand how survival works: if i get infected as survivor i can be healed by my team. But why should i infect others if i am infected?

If you’re on the Zombie team, you have to infect all of the survivors.
If you’re on the Survivor team, you have to avoid getting hit by the zombies. If you get hit by a zombie, you become infected. You can get healed if you tag a non-infected survivor, and you can heal your teammates if you’re not infected.
To answer your second question, if you hit a zombie (as in someone on the Zombie team) as an infected driver, no he will not become a survivor. He stays a zombie.
