HLR HLCs Series 3 - That's All Folks, Hope to Return Next Year

We are back following our Summer break and we decided to attempt running competitions in both H4 and FM7.

In the coming weeks we’ll be hosting regular fortnightly Hot Lap Competitions in both games along similar lines to our last series, with leaderboards kept as up-to-date as possible. The H4 and FM7 competitions will be staggered by a week to ease our admin tasks.

We hope that everyone joining in will get pleasure from the shared challenges we present. Everyone is welcome!

Here are the Rules:

Each event will last 14 days, running from 9pm (UK time) on Wednesdays. Yes, we’ve changed the time.

To take part you just need to post your time, set during the fortnight, in this thread.

After the first event, Drivers will be split into 3 or 4 tiers depending on their times set at each HLC:

Tier 1 Unbeatable
Tier 2 Professional
Tier 3 Expert
Tier 4 Highly Skilled

Prize liveries will be awarded to Tier winners and to the Tuner posting a time and sharing a setup that is driven by another competitor to the highest place on the leaderboard at the end of the week.

New drivers will join a tier for the following week’s HLC dependant on the time they set. They can only win tier 1 in their first week.

Winners of tiers 2, 3, and 4 wll be promoted to the tier above.

Losers of tiers 1, 2, and 3 will be relegated to the tier below, unless their time is better than the winner of the tier below.

Other drivers from tiers 1, 2, and 3 can be relegated if more than 3 drivers from the tier below beat their time.

If a driver does not post a time they will not be relegated but if a driver doesn’t post a time for 4 consective weeks their name will be removed from the tiers. If that driver rejoins at a later date they will be treated like a new driver.

Great news Moss! My interest in Horizon has been fading a lot recently, this will hopefully get the motivation back!

Think I’ll be racing you to the bottom of the boards again. Everyone else seems to have increased their pace.
If there are any Street Races, I think I’ll try one of these :fire_engine:

I’m in for this. Minor query but is the tuners garage the best place for this thread? Might be more engagement on the main discussion forum. I don’t often look in here so would have missed it but for the flag on my thread.

Apologies if that’s been considered and this is the best place for it!

General Discussion is not the right place for a thread like this. There is a case for it being in the Racers Lounge, but our drivers are already familiar with it’s location here. I’ll post a link in the Racers Lounge once we go live.

Just moments away

For our first challenge we are off to Glen Rannoch to run one of the most technical rally tracks in the game. We hope you enjoy it!

Horizon 4 - Series 3, Week 1
A Class (A800 Max)
Glen Rannoch Trail (Dirt Racing)
Restricted to any car in the Retro Rally Division
Event will close at 9:00pm (UK time) on Wednesday, 18th September.

Everyone welcome.
Simply post your times in this thread. But:

  • Let us know if you use a pc, or a wheel.
  • Let us know if you share a tune that others could try, or use a setup created by another driver.
Prize Livery for the fastest time.

Nice to have you back organizing these HLC:s !

Just to get things started i made a test run with totally untuned Lancia Delta, only slapped some miscellaneous parts to make it A-class,

After few more runs i ended up with 2:51.306 for now.

Will be setting some times here very shortly! Been waiting to even set times around all the tracks since the leaderboards for all the classes were put in.

Good to be back in the mix! Starting off with the Escort Cosworth, 2:53.574

Still using controller btw, Moss.

Edit; down to 2:50.604 in the 92 Delta HF, tune shared.

Some excellent times already run. Very encouraging start inside the first 24 hours.

TDU1PlatinumMod (ex-Corn3rer) and ANG3LR1PPER are having their own private battle at the head of the list. Outstanding times by both of them.

For my part I kicked off with a Subaru 22B but felt it lacked pace after adding the grip I needed. Switched to the Lancia 037 and ran a 2:52.139 for now.

Shared Legacy tune named “Test”. Springs dampers untouched.

lol my time got ninja-updated :stuck_out_tongue:

22B and Delta Integrale I did 2:46 with rewinds I would say they’re close to Legacy. 22B though I could not fit front tires/wing after full weight reduction so I gave up. Integrale might have equal/better potential

Renault is also very gud but I haven’t compared enough builds yet. 037 it was down on power for me and i got 2:49 dirty

So far, I have tried the 22B, Renault 5 Turbo, and the Lancia 037. Still trying to get into a good track rhythm (the FEW clean ones do not come easy…lol…), yet, I can tell it’s going to take me some time. All tunes need WORK!

I had a couple of runs in the Quattro last night which was the only car in the category I had with an A class tune currently. The 2.54 I did in that wasn’t perfect but it also wasn’t a bad run - so I’m working currently on the basis it’s not a top car for this category.

I’m on controller by the way. Do you want tune names if they are random downloads or just if we are using our own/one from someone in this thread?

The latter thanks.
