Helping a friend to remotely(teamview) install/troubleshoot unrecognized Fanatec Wheel in FM7

Windows 10
3-Day old Fresh install of FM7
Old Fanatec Porsche 911 GT3 RS V2 w/
Latest Firmware/Drivers installed 7.56/2.61

Wheel setup is working in other sims (iracing, for example.)

Example,
In FM7: Options, Controller which device should be chosen for
the Fanatec Porsche 911 GT3 RS V2 wheel?

Should the Wheel be auto-recognized by FM7? It’s not, thus far.

Are there any troubleshooting steps or a detailed guide to follow?

VIDPID issue? The unit may have been plugged in/out of several USB ports.
Should Xbox mode be used?

Thank you.

Put your wheel into PC mode and make sure it is recognised by Windows via the Fanatec Control Panel. Until the Fanatec driver can recognise the driver, there’s no way FM7 will

After you absolutely know Windows 10 has recognised the wheel, start FM7 and then from the options menu create a new custom profile since I’m pretty certain the GT3 RS isn’t on the supported wheels list. Those were the basic steps I used for my old Porsche 911 GT2 wheel and it is working fine for me on Windows 10 1909 patched thru April 2020 (18363.815) with Fanatec driver 3.45

Sorry for sig up this old post.
@SkiwiNV does the force feedback work with a custom profile?
technically the wheel is compatible with the game, shouldnt required a custom profile, or i’m wrong - https://support.forzamotorsport.net/hc/en-us/articles/360012861493-Supported-Wheels-and-Devices

I’m asking this because i plan to buy this fanatec wheel, second hand, at a pretty good price, and i wanted to know if i could play forza Horizon 5 with a custom profile to, and with force feedback

In the case of this game, the wheel doesnt appear on the supported list - https://support.forzamotorsport.net/hc/en-us/articles/4409263414547-FH5-Supported-Wheels-and-Devices
(It was on the Forza Horizon 4 supportedlist)

Best regards
