I am able to upgrade just before a race, but if I were to upgrade from the main menu the game stays at saving. I even drove to the grocery store and when I got back it was still saving, so I say about 30 to 40 mins. I have to alt+f4 and restart when this happenes. Besides all other issues this is the worst for me.
