E-X Hoppers and other goodies up (list of cars banned from multiplayer hoppers)

These are the car models I found that were not available to Rent in their respective Class hoppers. However, I did see some that appeared to be allowed in higher class hoppers after upgrading. I don’t know if the upgraded versions are unlimited in access or have their own some-but-not-all-hoppers rules, so other users will have to test that.

Most if not all of The Birth of Grand Prix, Formula E, Formula Ford Spec, Formula Mazda Spec, Formula 70s, Offroad Buggies, Open Wheel Legends, and Track Toys are blacklisted due to open wheel.
Forza Trophy Trucks, Modern Offroaders, Modern SUV, and some Forza Specials are generally banned due to size.

Even the X-Bow is banned from this update… wow.
So that means that the least open-wheel open wheel car is banned, but somehow the Aerial Atom sneaked through? In what world is the Atom less open-wheel than the X-Bow? And if it’s not to do with how open and problematic the wheels are, what exactly was the criteria for banning a car in class hoppers? And why even ban them in the first place? Open wheelers are the most race-ready cars in the lower levels and are extremely fun to drive.

Perhaps that was the criteria then. Ban all fun.

Thanks for the list though Max. At least now I have a guide of what not to spend my in-game money and time on upgrading/painting only to find it’s not even usable.

The x-bow was a heavily used leaderboard car in previous games due to goofy PI and upgrading issues. It basically performed at a level that rendered most other cars useless. I would guess nothing has been fixed with the car and that it woukd still trump the lobby.

Some open wheel cars have an unfair advantage in class based racing. The issue is so bad that these cars are many seconds faster than anything else thus making the class irrelevant.

Granted a lot of the lower class and formula E open wheel cars don’t pose balancing issues, so I’m not sure why these are banned.

The X-Bow didn’t seem to dominate at all this time round tbh the Donkervoort and 340R I can understand to a degree even though I enjoyed those cars. Maybe they should remove the Elise GT1 from S class too if they are going to ban OP cars, 33 stradale is still in A class afaik too so if the logic behind removing the open wheelers is because they are OP then they have missed a bunch and took some that aren’t really that OP I mean the Caterham was pretty rubbish imo but that’s been banned. There really is little sense behind the decision to remove the open wheelers imo.

The Atom is on the list too, under R-class.

There are a few cars on this list that make no sense though, like the MGA and Prowler to name the two I spotted after glancing at the list, I’m sure there’s more.

Open wheelers are probably banned due to how easy it is to lock wheels with another car, meaning neither car has any real control.

However if you restrict its engine the Atom is usable in every class below R-class

And if locking is the true criteria for banning open wheel cars from hoppers then the X-class hopper should not exist, as the only available cars native to that class are the F1 cars and Indycars. You’d simply be left with that new Nissan LeMans car.

The MGA wasn’t rentable when it was added though, so it’s probably not blacklisted, just not whitelisted in the game. The Prowler has similar hips to an open wheeler and maybe the hit box has enough of that characteristic that it fell into the group.

Here was the reasoning for removing SUVs as given in the same situation for FM6:

mainly to remove some of the larger “weapons” that certain players, intent on ruining MP races, have been using. While we believe this is going to make a better racing experience for the majority of players online,

so you take out heavy cars as they are used as weapons… any car can be used as a weapon in this game, you could ram in any car. all this will do is force the rammers to find the heaviest available car, it wont stop them from ramming. the racing I have had in c class the last few days with myself driving the Nissan safari I don’t think I have come across any rammers, maybe some bad drivers but no intentional rammers.

We need a track toy hopper in permanent if this is staying like this. Some of my favourite cars are from that division and now there’s no way to use them online unless I play tag.

Why exactly were open wheel cars banned, at least in the higher classes. Not being able to use old f1 cars on f1 tracks in s class makes no sense whatsoever considering the homologation is s class anyway.

Why can’t i use the caterham in the S class hopper anymore?
I think its carazy that i pay £80 for the game only to now be restricted as to what cars i can use online.

CRAZY and dishonest

I like the changes for the most part. Ill have to see how this weekend goes with friends. I do like having a few options of lower class ghost racing or virus to fall back on if the hoppers are out of hand. This week the ghost options dont really appeal to me but with the new additions Ill keep an open mind and try to find some good racing. I still wish the virus/tag lobbies got few different tracks to race on instead of just the few airfield configurations. I was hoping that might be included but havent heard anything about that so Im guessing thats a No Go. Looking forward to some of the lower class hoppers and trying a few cars I havent messed with in my garage.

Last weekend was awful for our group and the hoppers provided. To the point we waited for a Ghost League hopper to open just to get a few races without being greifed, but these changes give me a bit of hope for this weekend.

Telemetry now lags and is generally useless since the update

The best “weapons” are blades not bricks. Low, sharp, fast cars like that Nissan race car in the latest pack. It’s hilarious to drive under other cars and hurl them about.

21 cars total which is roughly 3 car packs worth of cars not able to use online, don’t get me started on why some of these are even in the game because that’s a whole other can of worms… its Forza MOTORSPORT.

I can’t help but feel like this is an incredibly anti consumer move. If we’re paying extra for content; we should rightfully be able to use said content, rather than being locked out of roughly one third of it. While I do understand what goal was; I feel like some more time could have been spent on testing and tweaking before putting this concept in place. Or, opening another can of worms, more time spent procuring licenses for more reasonable vehicles.

My favorite cars to use in A and S class are now gone, thanks Turn 10. The Meyer, cj5 jeep and willies jeep were very competitive and helped you get around turn 1 well before anyone could crash you. I’ve probably got 100+ hours in jeeps alone in mp hoppers finishing podium in 99% of those races.

I understand the need for some of the big ones being blacklisted but seriously the Meyer and 2 smaller jeeps are so small and light that they would be terrible rammer cars.

Bottom line is I like using oddball cars and hear people’s reactions when they lose to a Jeep or beach buggy and now that’s been removed from he game. I don’t want a separate hopper just for the banned cars and trucks, I want to race my jeeps and buggy’s against actual competitive cars in a populated hopper(not some low population suv hopper).

Worst decision ever, let’s add at least 1 SUV in every car pack(last one had an SUV and a minivan) then a week after the sixth pack is out ban them all from MP hoppers. Get your heads out of the sand rammers are now going to be using faster more competitive cars to ram people and possibly be harder to avoid than one driving a 6000lb brick.

Congrats for making yet another terrible decision.

The problem is they removed even more cars than they did in FM6. You could still use the donk and small jeeps and we paid for cars that now have no where to race besides boring predictable freeplay with terrible ai.

And if they are not allowed in class hoppers and there’s no special hopper for them(which I don’t want) then yes it does mean they are banned from multiplayer altogether. Plain and simple.
