Hello all and welcome to the Forza Motorsport Two Drift Settings Thread.  This thread will be updated on a regular basis with new Drifting Set-ups.

Note for European Drifters: Spring Rates are displayed in lb/in.  If you are in Europe and would like the number displayed in N/mm simply multiply the given number by 0.2248089.

the first step to a good setup is a good driver.  I'm pretty good at drifting and if you drift properly, you should be able to figure out a good setup for your style.  you can't really have a "setup" that everyone can use and achieve drifting professionalisim.  You have to see what style you like best.  If you perfer a feint drift, maybe tune out your corolla GTS.  If you like dynamic, possibly a Miata.  If you like braking, something along the lines of a S14 or RX7.  There's a lot of options but here's some guidelines for most cars:

1. FWD or "Arab" drifting is not real drifting.  You loose too much speed regardless of how far you get that rear end sticking out.

2. Make the vehicle as light as possible.  super light flywheels, weight reduction...etc.

3. mess with your ride height and camber.  usually a slight negative camber on the rear and a little higher negative camber on the front never hurt.  Also getting your car low to the ground helps.  To make things easier, use a really low and stiff setting in the front and a slightly higher setting in the rear that's soft (look at your dampers and springs to soften or harden the ride).  you want that front end to grip and that rear end to slip.

4. Power, lots of power isn't always great, start with something low power, add a clutch, suspension, etc and then slightly tune the motor every time.  start with intake, plugs, injectors and exhaust.  a motor swap shouldn't be necessary.

5. Look at real drift cars, immitate their movements and relax.  It will come naturally (or not), but just have fun.  Be sure to not throw around the steering too much and throttle control is essential.  You're going to crash so get used to it but keep in mind, speed is the key to longer drifts but that doesn't mean more power.  you can't speed up much once you're in a drift, you can pretty much just sustain your current speed and once the drift is at the end, you can speed up quite a bit.  If you havn't seen it, watch the Drift Bible, it has some great hints and tricks on technique.

it's an actual movie made by VideoOption that teaches ACTUAL drifting techniques.  I cannot say exactly where you can just download and watch it but you can purchase it from www.drifting2.com if you would like.  I know a bunch of other sites have it but that's the first place that comes to mind.

Been drifting this with a wheel setup, works good with the controller also. Start with lower HP if it is a bit crazy at first, but sideways is what this thing does best, i love it.

Keep it clean

Generally, stiffer suspension in the rear makes it easier to initiate and continue a drift, but with a more powerful car it becomes quite unruly.

So, start out with a stiff rear setup, and if it's too twitchy just soften it a little bit till you get the right feel.

Don't ever use a setup because somebody else says it works. Just go with what feels right.

Oh yeah, keep the rear camber less than -0.5 degrees (unless you are going for the vintage "demon camber" look).

I did an engine swap on my del sol and was wondring if anyone has set one up to drift? I have been messing around with it but the thing just keeps spinning out on the corners.
