    Pricing

There has been a lot of discussion lately on the price points of the Season Pass and the Rally Expansion. I was thinking about this and comparing these prices to some other entertainment-type items we probably all pay for on a pretty regular basis.

Have you ever paid $10 to see a 2-hour movie? Ever pay $15 to see it in 3D?

Have you ever paid $60 to go to Great American for the day? Ever paid $120 to go to Disney for a day?

Those are just a couple examples, but I think you get the point. When you compare the amount of money we spend on other types of entertainment expenses - I think the price of the season pass or the rally expansion starts to seem a lot more reasonable. I think this is especially true since, through rivals and online play, the amount of play time you can get from these additional items provides a pretty good value.

    Re: Pricing

Yeah good point, and the packs in the season pass can last you as long as you want, whereas the examples above all end fairly quickly.

    Forza horizon - 60 $. 140+ cars,big map, 60+ events, many multiplayer modes.

    Rally pack - 20$. 5 cars.same map,new textures. 7 events

Please dont defend this pricing. Trials evolution dcl: 20 tracks, 10 skill games, 100s of new editor objects - 5$

Rally Expansion still worth $20 to me.   Season pass...eh, not so much. I'll pick and choose the cars I want.  I spend $20 at Applebee's for Dinner-for-two. ... ... I don't mind dropping $20 for something that spices up a game (i've already done about 10 hours of Rally.  so $2 an hour ..and It's only just come out)

    Re: Pricing

The main point is that to some it is worth it and to others it is not.

Some would prefer to buy a burger than a 6 car pack.

Another point is whether the dlc in total compares well with other dlc or full retail games.

To me it is worth it, to others it is not. And guess what - we are all right in our points of view regarding whether it is worth it to us.

When in doubt, right foot out!!!

The way I look at it, the rally pack included 7 new maps and 5 cars. At $20, that's $2/map and $1/car. Is that really so unreasonable?

Meh. Comparing apples to oranges here.

Never compare a video game to a real life experience like going to a Disney park. Rally pack is still not worth $20 for me. Your points are invalid.

Oh yeah, last Sunday I took my wife, best friend and his wife out to lunch. It cost me $150.00. Rally pack is still not worth $20 to me. Your point is still invalid

    Re: Pricing

I am a big fan of Forza 4.  That game was, and still is great value for money.

For me, Horizon has not been good value for money.  The season pass has been much worse value for money.  The Rally pack is a total waste of time and money.     And yes, I did download and play the demo.  I expected greater things based on the demo.  All things considered, for the money, the rally pack should have been included as part of the original game.  Even then I still wouldn't rate Horizon as good value for money.

I partially agree with you but for the sake of arguing I would say that any 'AAA' game you buy for $60 is heavily discounted (let alone when they go on sale for $30 or even $20) and the developer's count on making up that discount with all the DLC that's released through the game's life cycle.

You made the request to "Never compare a video game to a real life experience" ... and then compared it to a real life experience.
The only thing you have proven, is that you do not think it's worth it.  That doesn't make "crunchy's" post invalid.

The first point I said was not to compare real life experiences to the cost of a video game. The second was answering his question, have I spent more than $100 on an event/dinner/outing or whatever that only lasted a short time (I am guessing that was his point). Yes I did. And I still think the points made are invalid.

Have I spent $20 on other add-ons or video game related purchases would be a better comparison. His argument is attune to someone comparing the value of a car to buying a house. Not logical :. invalid.

theres a pretty easy way to solve it all:

You think it is woth it:

    20$ = buy

You don't think it's worth it:

    20$ = no buy

And the season pass.......it was a gamble right away and everyone knew that....stop whining.
