    Suggestions to improve forza!

I just want to list a couple suggestions to improve forza overall. this is just my opinion but i would like some feedback and other ideas!

    1. Lobby freezing.. very common very annoying.

    2. wheelies.. Why couldnt a 900hp muscle car on drag slicks with a good launch do a backflip let alone a wheelie.

    3. Leaberboard cars. Why couldnt some of these cars be "NERFED" instead of removing them from the leaderboard? (this might of been answered but i didnt go looking for it)

     any other sugestions?

this game is a great improvement from 3 but i feel the classes could be a little closer in competition. There is to many cars that dominate classes/

you can do wheelies off the line in certain cars with some awesome clutch work, mostly on the fanatec wheel with clutch because you can feather it a bit.

I would like to see better vehicle lighting effects. We all know cars like Audi and many other exotics use lighting as part of the art of the car. The NFS games series do a pretty good job with headlights and the like.

Calling out to communities, who else is missing the following

So there are a few things missing for people like me, who is trying to run an organized series:

Enhanced tirewear, using drag-tires is ok, but they have a "boat quality" because of the lack of lateral grip, give me an option to multiply tirewear in the lobby, so race tires can be worn as quickly as drag tires (or quicker). No need to do a new tire option like supersoft

Repair Aero, I can switch an engine in less than 30 seconds, but not switch out bolt on body panels? make it a lobby option, preferably something you can fix with a longer pit-stop by pressing "Y" in the pit

Lap times in timed races, really? you can't count seconds when the end of the race is set to time

Who else out there has a quiet wish that this would happen? it would make running leagues a lot more fun, first 2 "requests" serve to making pit strategies a lot more interesting, if you have aero damage do you pit and regain some time, when do you pit for tires at some point you start losing time because they wear out.

This is NOT for people using the online hoppers, none of this means anything in a 3 lap race, talking about racelengths of at least 20-30 minutes, our LeMans series runs for 60 minutes, NASCAR is 105 minutes

So true, can`t make the real race-feeling without having realistic tirewear & fuelconsumption, and off course aero should be fixed in pits.

    Re: Suggestions to improve forza!

IF T10 are reading this, which I can only hope, please consider the following to fix in an upcoming update (this all adds gameplay, the most important about any game):

Numbered just to make them easier to reply to, not in particular in order of importance, bold for scanning

1 be able to repair all aero parts during a pitstop in both LIMITED and SIMULATION damage races

2 add laptimes in timed races (now you can only see the race timer counting down, would be nice to be able to see your laptimes as well, just like in a circuit race with laps as finishing condition)

3 make it possible to change the helmet camera view without using the multiscreen setup before starting a race of test session (below the HUD menu for example)

4 give people the opportunity to have an added mirror in cockpit view (as part of the HUD, like the bumper view)

5 let fans design tracks as a contest, model the best three tracks and release them as, very important, free DLC; you can make money through car packs all you want. (I understood that getting licenses for real tracks is a difficult process)

6 give custom races it's own tab and give players more filters (i.e. stock upgrades fixed cars, assists, damage, collisions on/off, etc)

7 release pre-tuned spec race cars and create multiplayer hoppers for them (for instance, build up a E30 M3 to NASA spec, release as (free) DLC and create hoppers for these cars)

8 delete tracks that get voted out the most in hoppers, and/or rotate them so tracks return after a while.  (the Top Gear track doesn't make much sense with 16 S-class cars, so why race there in the first place)

9 fix realistic tire wear and fuel consumption for Simulation and Limited damage

10 add ranked events again that put you up against people of your own skill; what use is it racing people that are either way faster or way slower

11 bring back tuning in online lobbies or at least (if this is impossible considering the programming architecture) give the option to preview a tune to make sure you've selected the right one; since the info is loaded anyway there should be a way to make a preview..

12 fix the zoom levels of the roof camera in the paint shop (sides/back and front have zoom levels, roof doesn't)

13 adjust the percentages in power and grip reductions from 5% increments to 1% increments (i.e. now you can select 0-5-10-15-and more % power reduction, where 0-1-2-3-4-5- and more % would be preferred) and add the ability to test with these to "test drive" under "upgrades", so you can test drive with power and grip reductions as well without having to create an online lobby.

14 add restrictor possibilities to upgrades of stock cars (just like race car restrictors) to reduct them with 20 or 40% or their stock power; make cars like the SLR/Wiesmann/etc more useful for online racing and be able to recreate touring car race with M3 (restrict to 320i alike power), etc.

15 add the ability in private lobbies to turn invalid laps OFF

16 add the ability to use a rolling start (for example 50 mph, two or three lanes) in private lobbies, will make racing with multiple drive trains a lot fairer at the start

17 show lagging cars as ghosts (my console is showing the lagging car, so with a couple of filters it should be possible to determine whether the car is lagging or not; moving up or down while staying horizontally flat, moving back and forwards faster than possible, etc). That way people don't receive damage from lagging cars

18 since the paint shop works with vectors, look at vector design programs and see how you can make your own custom shapes, create strokes/outlines, add/drop/convert anchor points and so on (paint bucket tool/ gradient tool/magic wand tool/etc)

19 slightly more difficult one: add the ability for drop in/drop out sessions in private lobbies, like Race Pro has (you can drop in and out of a session at any time and start racing when the host is already racing)

20 add more detail to replay descriptions (number of laps/time, drivers on starting grid, cars and PI's), give players the opportunity to move quickly through videos(as with YouTube, by dragging the cursor over the timeline), and don't automatically restart videos after they've ended.

Once again, I'm not asking for licensed stuff, I'm looking for things that actually make this game better, as I don't want to *** on T10. The current tactics of releasing giant amounts of DLC cars and not fixing the actual game (or waiting very long with it) is annoying a lot of customers who are ready to turn their back on this franchise.

If a T10 representative is reading this; if any of it by any means isn't clear, please contact me for details (not posting lots of paragraphs on the forums as it would take too much time to read for other members to agree with). This is just the start, but I think these 20 are the most reasonable features to fix with an update.

Thanks in advance for any support or feedback.

Re: Calling out to communities, who else is missing the following

    Fully agree with first post!

Also, look for my post on the first page (6th post, long enough to not miss out on) of this for more improvements I think Forza should implement. (http://forums.forzamotorsport.net/forums/5256208/ShowThread.aspx#5256208)

    In short?

    - repair all aero parts during a pitstop

    - add laptimes in timed races

    - change the helmet camera view without using the multiscreen setup

    - added mirror in cockpit view (as part of the HUD

    - let fans design tracks as a contest

    - give custom races it's own tab and give players more filters

    - release pre-tuned spec race cars and create multiplayer hoppers for them

    - delete tracks that get voted out the most in hoppers

    - fix realistic tire wear and fuel consumption

    - add ranked events again that put you up against people of your own skill

    - bring back tuning in online lobbies or give the option to preview a tune

    - fix the zoom levels of the roof camera in the paint shop

    - adjust the percentages in power and grip reductions from 5% increments to 1% increments

    - add restrictor possibilities to upgrades of stock cars (make cars like the SLR/Wiesmann/etc more useful for online racing)

    - ability in private lobbies to turn invalid laps OFF

    - ability to use a rolling start in private races

    - show lagging cars as ghosts

    - look at vector design programs for improvements paint shop wise  (create strokes/outlines, add/drop/convert anchor points and so on (paint bucket tool/ gradient tool/magic wand tool/etc))

    - drop in/drop out sessions in private lobbies

    - more detail to replay descriptions (number of laps/time, drivers on starting grid, cars and PI's)

    - opportunity to move quickly through replays, don't automatically restart replays after they've ended.

Wouldn't hurt if anyone would support this. Together we are the community, and if enough people are asking for something, I hope T10 will make them happen.

12 fix the zoom levels of the roof camera in the paint shop (sides/back and front have zoom levels, roof doesn't)

It seems no one ever noticed that: hold the left thumb stick down, and push it forward, and  while still keeping the LS down, move the right thumb stick around.

Re: Calling out to communities, who else is missing the following

I would also like to have the possibility to choose how much gas I start with (either, each driver chooses or the lobby sets it), and also, be able to pick what is to be repair/replaced refilled, and how much. That'd be great.

I think it would be great to earn credits for hotlapping. I love challenging LB times, but I don't have the spare time to do it often, without getting anything in return.

I noticed it, and loved it. Good job pointing it out, though. It's a shame there aren't any in-game instructions for that... or are there?

    Re: Suggestions to improve forza!

2 more possible improvements i can think of..

Making my huge garage a little more organized!

And why is it so difficult for my to find the DLC. Everyone i saw on the forums had it 20 hrs before me.. it finally popped up at 12 noon US mountain time in my dashboard.

I still love this game its a huge improvement from 3

    thank t10

    Re: Suggestions to improve forza!

    -Settings

    - Custom Controller Setups

    - TV screen Format so users with standard definition tv's can adjust there screen to fit(i need mostly)

    - Countdown race timer screen rotation fixed (enabled/disabled)

    - WAY MORE TIRE SMOKE

    -Paint

    - Matte Paints

    - Ability to give rims a colored Lip instead of 1 solid color or chrome.

Fix the "Apply Decal" Problem on most cars(example: try painting a 94 civic eg's hood, oh wait u cant because it goes down to the front bumper. another example try painting the doors on a rx7, you can only paint 3/4ths of it)

Re: Calling out to communities, who else is missing the following

    Svem has some good points.....

Like repair Aero......  If it is a "Simulation" game - How can I change engine and raceplatform in 20 seconds - but not my wings ?

Laptimes in timed races.... Why would I like to know my laptimes in a distance race - and not in a Timed race ??

Rolling starts - What a good call......

Tuning in racelobbys...... Yes Sir, We could in FM3 - So it should be possible in FM4.....

Basically agree with most of his points....... Very well considered. Thanks.

    Re: Suggestions to improve forza!

I'm sure most of this won't be considered until Forza 5, but my improvements list.
Drag Racing is beyond basic in the game, shouldn't have been implemented in that state.
    - There needs to be a water box/burnout phase to heat the tires
    - Christmas Tree for line up (staging) and countdown, including red light automatic loss, and staging timeout automatic loss
    - Results screen (or even a timeslip pop-up [more authentic]) showing reaction time (RT), 60ft, trap speed and elapsed time (ET) of you and opponent
    - Engine damage for banging the rev limiter
    - Tubbing, sandbag/ballast options in upgrades and skinner and wider tire options only available with drag tires selected
    - For appearance, wheelie bars and parachutes in the aero upgrades section

    Beyond that
Drag Racing gets its own lobby customization tab
You should implement bracket racing and dial-in/handicap options for lobbies
Heats and elimination tournament brackets for those that want an easy way to host such events

    Other areas for improvement
    Simple improvements
    - Ghost cars that are 1 lap down, to prevent the wankers ruining your race
    - Lobby option to remove sticky grass/sand for private races
    - Searchable leaderboards by PI range and car model or car manufacturer, including displaying 'you are in top %' and 'total players' for your search criteria
    - Searchable gamertags in leaderboards
    - Save your favorite storefronts including a tab to quickly access them
    - Save storefront search terms for future use, similar to ability to save preset lobby setting
    More development
    - Customizable rivals mode, and clubs only customizable events with exclusive leaderboards
    - Rivals events using a specific spec'd car that you can tune.  Not just stock only, or drive/tune whatever you want within a set of parameters
    - Autocross events online, with customizable lobby options
    - Soccer leaderboard by individual and team (wins, losses, goals for, goals allowed etc...)
    - Bring back city street courses, fictional or otherwise.  I'd love to see Long Beach, Circuit de Monaco and Surfer's Paradise
    - More European tracks, this is the bread and butter for most of the cars in the game.  I can't believe there's only one british, french and italian course currently.
    - More point to point tracks, Isle of Mann seems obvious, with more events beyond drift & track days, also track days with AI traveling in both directions

I also agree with everything Sven posted above in regards to fixing simulation/organized racing in the game.  The organized racing leagues by clubs are what keeps me coming back to Forza.

P.S.  Thank you for implementing the community bounty hunters recently Cool

    Re: Suggestions to improve forza!

1 - improve AI difficulty. As with many games nowadays the difficulty of the single player keeps dropping. Forza 1 was very difficulty against the hard AI, now the Proffesional ones lack skill. In almost every track there are one or more cornes where they brake far to much, and even on some straightaways AI's break for no reason.

2 - Give the Events list a graphical boost. Although this type of putting all races together gives a good overview of the races you need to do, I liked the way the events were shown in Forza 2 better.

3 - Only include valid events list races in the World Tour mode.

    4 - I want endurance races back!

5 - More races on the full track Nurburgring Nordschleife in events list

6 - Less reversed tracks showing up. As well in SP or MP I think I did Sedona Raceway more in reverse than in the normal direction

7 - Remove short variants of the topgear track except drag strips because those have nothing to do with the topgear track itself and are, in my opinion, pretty bad tracks.

8 - Be able to see both km and HP together. Not either km with Kw or miles with HP. Is said many times before but why not saying it again. I can't imagine this will cost a lot of time programming.

9 - In 'My Stats - General' it would be nice to make a distinction between offline and online races (for stats like victories, podiums, races)

10 - In Rivals make the font size of the laptime significantly larger than the total time displayed. The total time is of no interest in Rivals and I would be nice to be able to quickly see your lap time which is easier if you can see it better (not everyone has a 40inch or larger TV screen)

11 - Do something about dirty lap times in the following lap. If you go off track in the second or third last corner you immediatly get a dirty lap time in the next lap, although often the secondlast corner has nothing to do with the speed you'll have on the straight for the next lap. In Hockenheim this is so exaggerated that when you get an exclamation mark halfway the track your next lap is already dirty which is very annoying in Rivals mode.

Move the report auction button to the bottom in the AH.  I have reported several auctions inadvertently while in a bidding war on a car.  The Report auction should not be default button.  Move it to the bottom.
