GT Challenge season 1 information and driver sign up
Going to start my first Forza racing series. This series is called GT Challenge, and will take place over 12 weeks.
Eligibility - Anyone that is capable of racing, can. There are no restrictions on region.
Eligible cars -
#71, #62 and #90 Ferrari F430GT
#92 BMW M3 GT2
#45 and #80 Porsche 911 GT3-RSR
#33 Jaguar XKR GT
#40 Ford GT
There is only allowed to be a maximum of 2 players per car.
Race times - Races will take place every Saturday and Sunday evening, at
9PM GMT. If someone is unable to race on a certain race, someone can
drop in for them, and what ever points the "reserve driver" gets will
add onto the original players points for the season. Because of this i
am taking more than 7 people on the sign up list, and will put the
maximum amount of players (First drivers and reserve drivers) to 12 for
the first season. Any driver can drop out at any point in the season,
at which point the first of the 12 drivers without a first driver spot
to ask to be put into the first 8, will replace the driver who left.
They will have to start from 0 points.
Race Distance - The race on the Saturday will be the "Sprint race" and
will be a short few lap race, which will last around 15-20 Minutes. The
race on a sunday will be the "Feature race" and will be a longer race,
lasting around 30-40 minutes (also done by laps).
Race rules - The Sprint race, is just a just a normal and simple race
to the finish. Simple as that, once the race starts, you just race as
if it was a normal race.
The Feature race, is different, and involves you having to make a pit
stop. You can make the pit stop from the end of the first lap, right up
to the penultimate lap, but you HAVE to make one. I will save the
replay for every feature race once it has finished, and will upload it
to my storefront. If someone does not make a pit stop, they will be
disqualified, and recieve no points for that race.
Cars must be stock. No upgrades and no tuning. To try and make racing as
close as possible, I have left a few cars out such as the Panoz GTLM,
because it would have made it unfair on some other cars.
No contact is impossible in racing, but obviously you can not hit
someone off on purpose. Damage will be on simulation. If anyone feels
they were overtaken unfairly, or hit off the track or hindered in any
other way, message me on XBL after the race, and i will look at the
replay, which i will again save and upload to the storefront (I will do
this for all races). If i agree that something unfair happened,
whether it be someone corner cut, or pushed you off, they will either
recieve and time penalty, which will be added on to their final race
time, or be disqaulified, depending on how much of an advantage they
got from breaking the rules. If someone for example locks their brakes,
and knows they are going to hit you, they can cut a corner if that
means avoiding contact. Obviously though they will need to give this
position(s) back as soon as possible. If not they will recieve a time
penalty after the race. If i am unable to decide whether an incident is
a racing accident or a crash that could reward a penalty, all other
players from that race (except those who were involoved in the
incident) will vote as to whether it was a racing accident, or if a
penalty should be given.
Points scoring - For both races you get points based on finishing
position only. The points rewarded for the feature races look like this
-
1ST - 12
2ND - 10
3RD - 8
4TH - 6
5TH - 4
6TH - 2
7TH - 0

For the Sprint race, points are awarded like this -

2ND - 5
3RD - 4
4TH -3
5TH - 2
6TH - 1
7TH - 0
8TH - 0

Quick question. Im fairly new to forza.net, and if I can how do I edit posts? There is no button up the top, next to delete, reply, quote and so on.

As you are still new to the site, you are still being moderated. This is a short but necessary step to insure you can behave yourself here on the forum. After you reach about 50 post, and if there have been no post the moderators feel are questionable, you will receive full posting privileges. In the meantime, I'm not 100% sure, and I'm sure one will set me straight, but I believe you can ask for one of the moderators to edit your post for you.

Re: GT Challenge season 1 information and driver sign up
Hello, its a very nice chellenge, but unfortunately i cant partecipate to it because i never play at the 9 PM. I would like to ask you about a posibility of another playing time. I think a lot of players will partecipate, so you can organize some races in different time. In every case the moderators can review the replays at 9PM.

Re: GT Challenge season 1 information and driver sign up
Im italian racer, but fortunately i like to play during nights (saturday and sunday). This correspond to a very good time for american players. I would like to play at 00:00 GMT. (Italy +1) New York (-5) I think its a good compromise for everybody. A lot of italian players plays Friday's and saturday's night=) Your challenge can became a very nice thing, i started to inform about it my friends. You can organize a qualify session like formula 1, in three fases of 15-20 min during the first night, and then the real race with an obliged pitstop in the second night.
