Re: How do the leaderboard work?

If you use Search on the forums here, this question has been answered many times before.  The overall Leaderboards time for each of us is an accumulation of time estimated for all the tracks.  As you run each, whatever your actual time is reduces the overall time.  For instance, if a track is given three minutes, and you run it in a minute and a half, then your Leaderboard time is reduced by that 90 seconds.  As you progress in the game, the overall time in that section (just like in FM2) is reduced.  The object is to run all tracks (in all classes, see the Leaderboard breakdown) to keep chipping away at those "hours."

    here's some stuff:

    http://forums.forzamotorsport.net/forums/thread/2975694.aspx

Also, try searching for "leaderboard explaination"

Don't feel bad about the searching thing... people always say to search because it's been discussed.  However, not everyone is that great at searching using the right keywords and sifting through the info.  Hope that helps. :)

you can also try dropping the following into google search:

    site:forums.forzamotorsport.net leaderboard explaination

That will search only forums.forzamotorsport.net for those keywords.

Re: How do the leaderboard work?

If I manually add up all my tracktimes on all tracks(including Nurb, Sidew, Bench.), it does not match the time on my leaderboard. Im higher rated than one of my friends on all tracks individually in F-class, but he is higher on leaderboard in F-class overall(1 minute)? Is there other tracks except the 3 mentioned I dont know about, or is the leaderboard not working?

Re: How do the leaderboard work?

Are you including ALL times for ALL Classes of cars on ALL the tracks?   For instance, if you go into Circuit itself, it might show you an overall time at the bottom, but entering Circuit you then have all the Classes of cars, then when you go into, say, F Class, it is going to show you everything from Amalfi Coast to Twin Ring Motegi.  When you open each of the named tracks, you then have the various configuations.

Those are all for only F Class.  Repeat for everything else from E Class to X Class, on each track.  Each and every one of those roll up into lowering your Circuit overall time.

Re: How do the leaderboard work?

After entering leaderboards=>circuit=>F it says 3h 10 something, and my friend has got 3h 09 something. In all single events in leaderboard=>circuit=>F except 2 or 3, I have better time, and on the 2-3 hes only slightly ahead in time. Thats why I ended up thinking he has driven courses "worth" the time he is ahead in the overall section of class F.

If there is, say, 2-5 more tracks he set a time on, it would be right.

Re: How do the leaderboard work?

Yes, that could be the reason.  Unless you went through each and every one of those, you're not going to find the difference.  That's only a minute, perhaps, of difference.

Re: How do the leaderboard work?

But thats my point. I went through each and every track I have in Leaderboards=>circuit=>F, and I should be a few minutes ahead of my friend in L=>C=>F overall. He is 0.1 to 3 second slower than me on 9 out of 10 tracks, and on the 1 out of 10 he is faster its by a margin.

Have you ran the ring, the camino extremes, and both kaidos?

Clean laps on those tracks can drop your overall time a decent amount...even enough to where your friend is ahead of you; especially if you were messing around trying to drift on kaido and logged in a really really long lap.

"But thats my point. I went through each and every track I have in Leaderboards=>circuit=>F"

So, the only sane solution is that the leaderboard dont work properly, or anyone else got any ideas? Can someone pls confirm if leaderboard dont work, cause correct laptimes is somehow essential on a leaderboard.

Re: How do the leaderboard work?

you dont have all the tracks then.

add half and hour for each track you havnt got a time for. If you set a time its that time added to total and if its uncertified its your time it took +10 mints.

Re: How do the leaderboard work?

    Still trying to understand this.

     I have clean races on all individual tracks in F-class circuit on these spots;

    Amalfi  (2)      2:13:8

    Bench   (14)     11:02:4

    Camino   (8)   11:48:7

    Catalon   (3)    4:45:7

    Fuji        (2)     20:01:3

    Iberia      (6)     4:59:4

    Ladera    (6)     4:20:0

    Le M      (3)     12:24:5

    Maple     (4)     5:16.1

    Laguna   (1)     1:47:8

    Mugello   (2)     3:28:6

    New Y     (4)    5:24:9

    Nurb GP   (2)   4:26:8

    Nurb         (1)   10:08:2

    Rally        (2)    14:47:1

    Road Am   (1)   2:47:2

    Road At     (2)    2:54:0

    Sebring      (3)   5:34:8

    Sedona     (4)    8:36:7

    Sidew       (18)    29:18:3

    Silver         (3)   5:19:1

    Sunset       (4)   6:15:4

    Suz          (3)    5:15:8

    Tsu           (2)   1:57:9

    Twin         (3)    4:58:4

This adds up to 3h 09:54 on the overall leaderboard in F-class circuit(Manually added this and its correct). My friend who has, if added up manually, approx 4 minutes more than me, stands at 3h 09:18 on the same leaderboard, and he has no laptimes in Nurb GP.

I was hoping someone would be so kind to let me know what track(s) Im missing from my list?

Re: How do the leaderboard work?

You get a ten minute penalty for non-clean laps.  When you look at the scoreboards you must look at the entry.

If you look at the scoreboard, without looking at the entry, you cannot see the "uncertified lap" icon.

So to me it looks like you have 3 or more non-certified laps if you've raced all the tracks togehter and he's ahead by an unraced track (30 minutes)

Re: How do the leaderboard work?

Nothing is wrong with what you've done, I suspect the problem is that your friend hasn't bought the Nurb GP pack and the game hasn't added the extra 1 hour to your friends' time.

That I should have thought of. Thank you POOhhead, seems correct after a few calculations this.
