    Star [*] Bioshock 2..

Anyone planning on picking this up? I do, and I'll be playing this thing hardcore style..I played Bioshock 1 for months, exploring random places, and with the multiplayer in Bioshock 2, it looks like I'll be going down the same route..ha ha..so..just figured I'd see if anyone here on the forums would be picking it up as well? If so, let's play some MP. Cool

    Heck yes!

Bioshock is one of my favourite games ever. The storyline, the presentation, the gameplay. Simply a brilliant game.

    Hope the sequel delivers.

I won't be buying it, but I will be renting it at one point or another. I do this because it's more of a single player game than anything and I should be able to beat it in a couple of days.

Pure run through of the SP mode, takes I believe they said 12 hours, and that's if you just run straight through it, without exploring..if you explore, it's bound to be upwards of double that..I loved everything about the first one, and from what I've seen in gameplay videos, the second one is on par, if not exceeding in graphics, story line, and overall creepiness..2 more hours, and I will have this sweet game!CoolCool

    Re: Bioshock 2..

The multiplayer looks horribly like TimeSplitters 2 with pre-made characters with funny names & looks. Looks exactly like TS2 as you get to add hats and masks.

BioShock 1 was alright but I'd take my Fallout 3 anyday above it. I think ill try this game out somewhere before buying it though. Not really fan of the multiplayer features they've shown so far. No particularly tactical modes or anything, just plain crazy running around.

Game was never conceived as a MP game..they just thought they'd add it in for good measure..the SP is what sells this game..ha ha..

I was out with my mate last night seeing a film, went to Asda afterwards and he bought it at midnight release, I played Bioshock origonal beforehand and I never got into it, I do not doubt it being a good game, I just never buckeled down to it, maybe I am missing out, he seemed pleased to get it though

Be careful not to get too close, I might just have an awesomeness overload.

    Re: Bioshock 2..

I just got my copy (albeit the PC version) in the post, 2k did a damn good job with the special edition, they had a lot to live up to but this is far better than the 1st game's special edition.

The detail that's been put into this is simply incredible even the foam insert used to hold the contents in place has an art deco design:

Sorry about the awful table cloth.  Wink

    Re: Bioshock 2..

Lol, I was going to buy the LE, but decided not to, as the only thing I wanted out of that was the 164 page art book, in which I've already found on eBay, ha ha..now if only I would've jumped on that Breaking the Mold book that 2k released with Bioshock's 1 launch for a limited time..it was only $25 at the time, with free shipping, and now, on eBay, they go anywhere from $200-$800..talk about ridiculous..and it's a soft cover book! Surprise

    Re: Bioshock 2..

My copy arrived yesterday. Had a short blast on it last night before a friend dropped over. I loved the first, cool design with the art deco look, really great atmosphere thanks to the music and demented screams of the splicers. Then there's the plot, it was superior to 99% of the films I've watched in the last 10 years. As a gaming experience along with the likes of Half Life and Fallout 3 it's definitely a stand out title in the years I've been playing on consoles. I'm just hoping this one delivers as in my eyes the first set the bar very high.

    Re: Bioshock 2..

Well, one thing I've noticed from playing this one, is that it's not quite as creepy as the first, but that's mainly due to the fact that I know some of the things splicers will do, i.e. play dead, since they did that in the first..there's still a lot of "OH MY GOD" moments..spiders and houdini's come to mind..but that's what a lot of other people are saying, is that it's not quite as scary to them, since they've played the first..but if you search all over the place looking for stuff, and audio diaries, you're bound to find a "wha...?" moment..I've found several..ha ha..I'm maybe halfway through the game and have already played it for 8 hours..ha ha..

Yeah there are things that still creep me out, like those houdini splicers. I hate those. Heck a couple months ago I was playing through the first one again and knew I'd be running into one shortly and it still gave me a jump Tongue Tied Might not be as scary as the first, but it's still plenty to keep you on your toes.

    Re: Bioshock 2..

I just beat it last weekend. It was not as good as it's predecessor but a good game nonetheless. Online play was laggy.
