These are panoramic photos taken in Forza.  Each one consists of a minimum of 8 shots.  All photos are shot in forza, then processed via photoshop prior to stitching them together via a stitching program.

-this one is slightly different - 24 shots total as a 3 row multirow pano.  By using an additional row up and down from center, I was able to get the full 180 degrees vertical for this shot.  In the end I decided to crop it anyway though.

and here is the first attempt by FoxHoleDelta - his diamond white Subaru making the rounds at (Silverstone I think.)  This is a 9 shot pano and a first attempt for him.  He offers a view deep into the corner.  I think I've HIT that wall there a few times!

Awsome good idea

thanks.  I admit that the VR is pretty poor quality, but with the overall resolution of a single image and the horrid JPEG compression that the game outputs, its not going to get much better.   I've done several real world VT's with a pixel width of well over 10,000px - those are nice and you can zoom right on in. :)
This really makes me wish for high res images from Forza.

Yes, high res would be nice but atleast we have a photo mode =]

If you make another one, you should do it at the carousel on the Nurburgring with 3 or 4 cars going round it.

Wow, both are awesome shots.  Do you take one position and height in photo mode and just move left and right from there and take pictures?  I would really like to know how to do this, I'd definitely put up some panoramic shots.  Nice job, keep it up.

Thanks for the reply.  Unfortunately, Che stated in the most recent pitpass that any photoshopped photos are automatically disqualified.  Otherwise, I definitely would enter them, simply for originality.

Added today's shot from Inland Taipan in the OP.  I just happened to be flying around that one today in my Carbon Fiber Zonda-S.  Not my best photo to date, but I kinda like the wacky perspective that the zonda takes on.

Thats what I was guessing too - based on the aspect ratio anyway.

I use PTgui for stitching.  The Mac version works great - even better than PTmac.

I shoot 8 shots with the camera vertical - i.e., portrait orientation.  So for a full 360, that's one shot every 45 degrees.  As it turns out, with the lens zoomed all the way out, you get close to a 10.5mm focal length.  However, unlike the Nikon 10.5mm fisheye, the view is not a full 180degrees.

If you guys want to shoot panos but can't get em stitched up right, let me know.  If you shoot em correctly, I can knock out a single pano in about 5 minutes or less.  So, drop me a PM or something if you have something you wanna try.

  Well, I gave it a quick try after our Trans-Am series race @ Road Atlanta last nite. Its not a seemless stitch, But not too shabby after one try. Ill give it a better go tonight an see what happens. Now lets see if I can even get the thing posted here now:
