New Suspension + Transmission Tuning Calc (testers needed) v1.2 UPLOADED
I have been working on this for some time and at the same time working with various community members including feuerdog. And now I release it to you guys. Have fun and feedback will be appreciated. Thanks. FEATURES
- supports both imperial and metric units
- print area enabled so you can print out your setup and make notes
- FM3 suspension dynamics by feuerdog
- tire pressure settings based on curb weight/load on tire
- an all new optional automatic transmission sheet
- Integrated transmission calc with calculated final drive ratio and individual gear ratios.
- Automatically calculates optimal shift points.
- Suspension input modifiers for tweaking the strength and front bias for individual suspension parts that will get you one step closer to that perfect tune.
- full car list with performance figures and prices
- full rim list with weight loss %
- stiff suspension values for the ADVANCED tab for a stiffer suspension and mostly likely faster lap times
- Aerodynamics sheet still under construction
- NEW! Tire dynamics sheet for tuning tire pressures for grip where you need it.
SCREENSHOTS

REQUIREMENTS INSTRUCTIONS To tune any car make sure you are in it and go to:
- Main Menu>cars>my cars
- press y to toggle.
- input that data into FM3 Main (ie; power, torque, weight, front)
- press x (car list)
- Hold the LB until you reach the data needed (ex: power rpm, torque rpm, redline rpm, front and rear tire sizes)
- Enter required data into FM3 Main
- If aero parts are installed, write the default values into advanced>aero>default down force.
- If using the stiff suspension values, make sure you recheck these numbers for any change you make in weight and down force.
- Follow the comments inside the modifier cells for guidance to that tweak you are looking for.
- anything else, ask here or figure it out amongst yourselves.

can i message you over xbox live? no. please no more blind friend requests just post here. someone will help you i'm sure.
will you answer a question that has already been answered? no. any questions that need a repeated answer will be ignored.
what is wrong with the aerodynamic sheet? i want to use it but i can't. please help me. the aerodynamics sheet is under construction and will most likely be deleted. stay tuned if something happens.
i can't believe this isn't error free. i'm getting #NAME? errors all over the place. come on i really want to use this. what gives?
what gives is that #NAME? appears when excel 97-2003 can't read excel 2007 new formula statements. in this case your spreadsheet gets an error when it encounters the MROUND function. if i find out you don't have the analysis toolpak add-in enabled like i said countless of times in this thread, i'm gonna be a little dissapointed. goto this link for more details: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/excel/HP052091851033.aspx

I have been playing around with FD's new release, and have been pretty happy with the results... I will give this one a go and try to provide some feedback. (if wanted. lol)

Re: New Tuning Calc (need testers)
I just tried it with a no aero C425 Genesis and it made the car much more balanced. I get an error every time I open the sheet saying "The reference is not valid. References for titles, values or sizes must be a single cell, row or column." It seems to be affecting the aero sheet only, with drag force, downforce and theoretical top speed and overdrive as #Ref! errors. Edit: I can't access the Google Doc version, I do not have permission. I am going to try the gear and aero tuning on a different car now.

Re: New Tuning Calc (need testers)
At first glimpse I thought it was excellent, sadly, I soon realised that, like the other tuning calcs, I still had to drive the car..!! Seriously.... It is great.. still tampering with it.

Re: New Tuning Calc (need testers)
Just had a quick look - will have a proper test tomorrow, but I've only just noticed it and it's getting late Only thing that stands out are that some of the rim weights look to be out. A few of the rims show up with negative results, and some of the other values look like they might not be in the right order. Stupidly I forgot to make a note of the ones I noticed when I was checking for different wheels a minute ago, but I'll have another look through it tomorrow when I'm a bit more awake. Good effort though - looks very impressive so far!

Re: New Tuning Calc (need testers)
Call me a dork, but I love excel spreadsheets. I will use this to generate a few different ideas if things get rough. Thanks for all the work you put into it. I need to pick up Dog's too yet.

Re: New Tuning Calc (need testers)
First of all thanks, this is helping me learn a little bit about tuning and getting my cars setup properly.
I don't really know anything about tuning but I think I have filled in all the values correctly but I am getting 0.0 for lb/in on both spring rates, am I missing something? and I am not sure how to use the aero section to get downforce. i'm working on a veyron that I use for cat & mouse on nuremberg, it is R3 798 with all upgrades except weight reduction. this is quite hard to find a premade tune for so I am hoping to use the help of you calculator. thank you, and everything else has worked perfectly

you probably are. do me a favor and goto tools>add-ins> enable analysis toolpak if that doesn't work, i might need a screenshot.

I was using open office, I tried using google docs and that works fine and gives me the spring data, so i'll just use that from now on, thanks
