Look at the leaderboards for each class.  There you will find your answer.

See my storefront for some great Audi S5 tunes for A class and C class. If you would like an S5 with any particular handling characteristics, send me a PM and we'll work something out.

The S5 is a great car for C, B, and A. If anyone's interested in some good setups for the S5 in C and A (I don't race B), let me know.  I specialize in setups aimed at attacking the corners (late/hard braking) and accelerating through the turns.  It's easier to pass when you can carry a turn faster and harder than anyone else on the track.

I'm still tweaking my A setup, but it's currently 606/46608 on Road Atlanta and 211/54097 on Maple Valley SR.

My C setup is 109/87000 on Maple Valley (where I do the majority of my tuning).

Oh yes! I tuned mine to the same level (including AWD) and was in the top 100 on the Nordschleife within 2 laps. Just a pity that there is no option to have the European look with the round headlights, but on the other hand the rectangular ones also look very stylish and have been used by many GTI fans as an upgrade.

    Oh the lovely F class!

I have been chasing HOT LAPS with C4 for days now. But I am thinking about getting a WW Rabbit and climb to the top. Can't really decide between Civic and Rabbit.

Re: Best cars for each Class ?

    LOL

So many times before this came up. NO TUNE WILL MAKE YOU AN IMMEDIATE TOP 50, 20, 10 OR TOP 5 racer. Also true is that no setup works for everybody due to different driving styles.

The FM2 leader boards were filled with same cars and 9/10 times they all had different tunes on them. So my resoning ... take a stock car. Upgrade it to the top of it's class. If you can't make top 100 with it, practice different parts until you do manage top 100. Only then go and play with the tuning and see where that takes you.

I took a stock car at raced a track, got top 250 and since this car still had +- 100 points to go in it's class, it looked promising. I upgraded and ran 18th. Then with a slight tune got 6th. So firstly see what the stock car can do.

Also not every car will be dominant on each track, there might be multiple cars dominant in each class all depending on the track.

PS it is however good to look at the scoreboard to find a car that might be quick, but this game has not been out long enough for even C class best cars to have been identified as any car in F, E, D and C could be that all magical dominant car. Even in FM2 there might be cars that are better than the top 10 cars listed on the scoreboard.

True.  Another thing to keep in mind when looking at the lap times, is that a lot of the top spots were achieved with very loose setups.  Loose = fast, but loose also = inconsistent.  The setup used to achieve the best lap could be detrimental in an overall race because you can't produce consistent times, or worse, keep it on the track.

When looking for a tuner or creating your own tune, get your hands on something that you can be consistent with.

Re: Best cars for each Class ?

As much as i like the realism to this game. I feel as if turn 10 got some huge fiscal bonus from Audi in order to promote their cars.

Audi has a extreme advantage over the rest of the cars in their classes to the point that it's extremely unrealistic.

Let's look at the Class A dominating R8, a car that stock for stock in REAL life, is marginally faster than cars like the Carrera 4S and is in now way going to best a Gallardo or other avant guard esque sports cars.

It is pretty balanced competitor in the game in the sense it doesn't BLOW past any other A class car and if it does it'll get beat in the braking or the cornering, my concern however comes in the fact that it still has 20-30 performance index digits before it hits an A class peak.

I don't see how they can legitly put a car that is step for step right along side cars that are 590-596 performance index, and have it's number still leave room for 30-40 more horses and aero mods

It's as if the car was designed to dominate A class in this game, when in reality the R8's racing pedigree is anything but amazing ..

I love the game thus far (lv 24 lots of online seat time) But it really appears like all the cars that are doing exceptionally well in the A/S class races..are cars that in real life are pretty much underperforming overpriced pigs.  I'm a car enthusiast before a gamer and everything, but i'm highly involved in both.

But considering no one has managed to bump the S5's hp to decent power and the R8's GT racing record sucks the big one. ..I don't see how the S5 and R8 are such great cars in the game.

Re: Best cars for each Class ?

I'm not sure about classes E and F but I know D and up (they include cars with upgrades/tuned)

Class D: Any hatchback from class E updraded (Fiat 500 Abarth or Peugeot 206 are best)

    Class C: Audi S4 is good (I think it's in C) (DLC)

Class B: BMW M5 with upgrades (Must do weight reduction and other handling parts)

    Class A: Porsche 997 GT2 upgraded to 600 PI

Class S: A Ferrari California upgraded or Jaguar XKRS upgraded

Class R3: The Peugeot Super 2000 with all upgrades is good, can compete with Ferrari F430 and Porsche race cars (there are some handling problems but not if you are a good driver).

Class R2: I got a Lexus race car from Turn 10 and that is really good, but I haven't used many others.

Class R1: Peugeot LMPs are very good and also I think, wait for it... Cadillac make a LMP car and that is very good too (not sure if it's Caddy or Acura!) LOL

Class X: Any LMP upgraded I suppose, only one I've seen is the Aston Martin Lola with PI of 999!

The best thing about his is... nearly all of these cars are reward cars! Audi S4 is DLC.

Re: Best cars for each Class ?

Go to Myforza.net and click n cars, there are many filters you can apply when looking for your 'perfect' car.

My recommended cars (the ones that aren't in a D.L.C.):

    For class...

F: Honda CR-X Del Sol Sir.

    E: Pontiac Solstice.

    D: Honda Civic Type-R

    C: Opel Speedster Turbo.

    B: B.M.W. Z4 M Coupe.

A: Mercedes Benz SL65 AMG Black Series.

    S: Maserati MC 12.

    R3: Ferrari FXX.

    R2: Ferrari F50 GT.

    R1: Peugeot #8 Peugeot Sport 908.

X: NA (No Known Record of class 'X' on car database and research unfortunately. And I bet you can tune a class 'R1' to class 'X')

I hope this helps the people looking for a great ride! (I Personally spent a couple of weeks getting this data!)

Re: Best cars for each Class ?

The Acura ARX-01b is overlooked greatly. It's very similar to the Porsche RS Spyder in handling characteristic but it seems to grip better on corners in my experience. This is for R1 class.

R2: I'd rock out in the Ferrari F50 GT.

R3: McLaren F1 GT if you have the dedication and love for the car to get it, I find it superior to the Nissan R390 road car and the FXX. Between the R390 and the FXX, it's more down to what kind of driver you are. The FXX is an easy drive and a fast one, while the R390 requires your constant attention and will only be fast and competitive if you can give it that attention, but man if you can, it will be fast.

S: McLaren F1 GT over all but only if you have the dedication and love for the car to get it, otherwise it's too much. Lotus 2-Eleven for tighter circuits. Porsche 911 RS in general.  Saleen S7 or Ferrari F50 if you can't get the 911 RS.

A: Lotus 2-Eleven, Exige, or Espirt.
