Re: Forza 2 Newbie with request for help.
If you look through the posts here, this type of request is usually greeted with silence or rude remarks. Most of us have worked our way through the game, earned the cars and credits, and learned how to drive, the tracks and various cars as a bonus along the way. My suggestion to you is start with Arcade, get a feel for the cars, braking, cornering, and then progress through Career. You've got about 70 hours or so in Career alone, will generate credits as you go, and win Prize Cars as you finish each segment. Then you'll have anywhere from 17 to 24 hours of racing for the million credits online race winnings achievement.
Hang in there. This game isn't one you can do over a weekend or in a week. It is difficult, sometimes disheartening, but if you stick with it you can do quite well.

Re: Forza 2 Newbie with request for help.
You'd be surprised at how easy it is to earn money, especially if you learn to stick with just several cars in the beginning.

Re: Forza 2 Newbie with request for help.
It astounds me every time I see threads where by people have gone out and bought FM2, obviously knowing It's a racing game in which you race to earn credits to progress...but there first port of call is too come here begging for credits or cars???
Here's a tip for you... go and trade in your copy of FM2 and buy a game that's less of a challenge for you... say snakes & ladders or how about tiddlywinks!!

Welcome to the world of Forza.
Like Snow said, play the game, get used to the cars that you can afford, then when you feel you are ready and have some cars that are likely to go well online, start racing online and make some friends. Once you've networked and learned from those who have raced online for a while you will pick up tips on how to tune your cars, and what cars to use.
Maybe then one of your online friends may gift you a car but until then earn it like the rest of us did.
It's all part of the game, learn to walk before you try to run.
The credits that you start the game with are ample to buy and lightly tune a MkV Golf, get some races under your belt with that and the money will come rolling in.
Turn off the assists and the money you earn will increase by 40% for every race so within a couple of hours play you should have plenty of cash and won plenty of cars to get you started

Don't feel put down by all the negativity that can come at you on the forums. Build your cars for handling and not speed for now to get your feet planted. Work at arcade mode and then move onto career mode. Once you think you can race without wrecking people start racing online and make some friends. It always helps to network a little and build some resources. Enjoy Forza2!

Re: Forza 2 Newbie with request for help.
This is my first post and will hopefully help you out, WCMasse as well as start a decent reputation around here. I have played racing games since gran turismo 3, 4, forza1 and now 2 which I just got recently as well. I will tell you that this type of game is not for people that just want to make a lot of money. Most games I am like that, and I am quickly learning that to make your way to 'fame and fortune' it takes a lot of work. I don't know how many times I've raced, but I have been sitting here for 3 hours now to build up money. I have a couple races that are getting to be very easy where even if I mess up I can still win. The trick is to just keep driving and learn the tracks. As stated the exhibition is quite fun and can teach you a lot about the game. I have been surfing through the forum for a while now to get tips and ideas on ways to network with people and learn the game. I will give you another tip, I haven't officially done this yet, but some of the prize cars you get you can auction off at least for the chance to make more money than if you were to just sell it outright. (I think I saw one of my cars to go for 100 cr if I sold outright). I won't bash you although I thought that it was somewhat selfish to just ask for free stuff. I hope I helped, feel free to contact me, I am learning as well.. I'll be sitting here trying to win some of these races.. I'm almost level 20.

Well said. "Snowowl." Have a little dignity and don't BEG, earn it like all of us did.

Re: Forza 2 Newbie with request for help.
no start with career so you start earning money and winning prize cars right away. The proving ground races are easy, but you can always set the AI to easy if you have any troubles. Don't put too much money into your first cars. That will just help you buy more cars later

Re: Forza 2 Newbie with request for help.
One thing unmentioned here is when you win a Prize Car for completing a series you should keep it. The car achievements in the game require ALL cars be in your Garage at the same time, so having once owned a certain brand/model won't do the trick. And you only get one shot at winning a Prize Car, so don't expect it to be available the set time you run the series. It goes away, just like the big credits bonus.

Re: Forza 2 Newbie with request for help.
give free cars to people who deserve it, like if your memory got wiped, not to people who barely even know how to play, they'll never learn anything if everything is handed to them on a silver platter

there are over 300 cars in this game, I will likely send two or three at the most. If anything I would think this would make a person appreciate it more. If given a nice ride off the bat, you know what you are working towards. I spent many hours behind my jetta to knock out the first series, but getting a nice enzo or C06 would have made things cooler and allowed me to knock out some other higher paying races.
If I sent him ALL the cars or most of the cars, I could see your point.
