Review by Polish Person of Redline Tuning
Polish Person:
Looking at the advert, I can honestly say I had my doubts. After all, the Lingenfelter has long been hated by just about every tuner that has tried to tune it. I say try because, well, none of them have succeeded. At least not until now.
With a paint so stunning, the tune has a lot to live up to, but right off the bat, the name had me worried. Would this car really be yet another missile car; lacking all knowledge of brakes and suspension. A cliché gulp and a press of my little green Skittle, and I was on my way to finding out. The car carries a hefty price tag, but if it lives up to my expectations, it’s money well spent. I scrolled through the in-game tracks aimlessly and finally decided New York would be the ideal proving ground, seeing as high-horsepower muscle cars completely destroy me on said track when online. Before the track even loaded, I was already pressing hard on the gas. Right through fourth the car burned rubber and eventually caught grip in a fit of sluggish rage. That’s what I get for trying to drive like a pro. Before I even hit the turn, I knew I was doomed, so I flipped traction on and backed-up to the line once more.
This time was different. Much different. Hard on the gas and the car once again tried to show me up, but was quickly reminded just who the real man was: traction control, none-the-less. Catching grip, it was time to brake before I had even looked at the speedo. Heavy on the left trigger and the car braked surprisingly well. It’s as if someone actually remembered that you have to slow down eventually. Around the corner, the car handled very well. Long wheelbase and low stance definitely help this titan in the twisties. Even when I shifted down to first, the car held on with grip to spare and powered out of the corner without a hint of oversteer. It actually surprised me how neutral the car is in the corners. The straight once again just flew by, and I was scrapping 211 before I had to brake. So fast, that the braking line didn’t even bother with yellow and just turned straight to red. A little bit of coasting through the high speed corners and it was back onto the straight. Tired of seeing Toys’R’Us fly by, I decided to go to Laguna Seca. Once again, the car was amazing. On the front straight, the car plays true to it’s missile car roots, as it actually lifts off the tarmac at points and make for quite an exhilarating ride.
So now comes the time to point out significant flaws and direct you to a more sensible purchase, but I have nothing bad to say. Great braking, great handling, great acceleration and great top end. This car has it all in one epic and beautiful package. Pro drivers and n00bs alike will enjoy this car.
