Can anyone help me get even faster on Tsukuba?
I'm looking for some help with Tsukuba in a and s class. I'm not slow by any means (a class is 155 long 53.5xx, short 55 40.2xx) but I've hit a wall. I can't get any faster! I've watced hot laps and raced ghosts, but I'm no longer improving! Anybody have any tips for me? My ultimate goal is to beat R2P Chemical and Jed...

Those are some pretty good times to begin with. The main reason your not getting faster is because your probably not as smooth on the track as JED and the R2P guys. Throttle control is a big thing too.
You have to be careful not to mash on the throttle and to smoothly transition from one corner to the next. To be honest, it's very hard with a controller. I just started using the wheel, and it shows you how crappy the controller really is. Basically, try to make the corners smoother and watch your throttle. That's about all I can say.
P.S: Most of the Top 10-25 use the Microsoft Racing Wheel. Just an F.Y.I.

Well, that's just great isn't it. I get a wheel today and get told that top drivers do as well! WOOHOO! I think I just need more time on track and to really understand how the lines affect the car. Cheers for your help though!

I can probably give you some tips --- in A-Class I have a 53.522, which is quite a bit quicker than your leisurely 53.524 ![Smile [:)]](/emoticons/emotion-1.gif) You say you've watched hot laps and raced ghosts, but here's something that I find helpful (maybe you already do this...) -- When I'm "working my way up," I'll sometimes race against "slower" ghosts first. For example, at Tsukuba A-Class, R2P JED's 52.938 is 0.586 seconds faster than you. At this level, that's a fairly big gap. But if you look at the current 100th time (you can only race the top-100 ghosts), at 53.412, you're only 0.112 seconds off the pace. Closing that gap is much more attainable. You should be able to stick much closer to the ghost, and (hopefully) find a braking or turn-in point difference that will help. Once ( if ) you manage to knock off that 10th of a second, then grab a ghost that ran it around 53.3, and see if you can knock off another 10th by chasing him. In theory, a few rounds of that technique should get you where you want to be. 'Course, if it worked that way every time, we'd all be tied for the #1 time :) Just another thought on something you might want to try... Good Luck! - Don

Re: Can anyone help me get even faster on Tsukuba?
Cheers for the advice matey!Well before I even read this advice, I just SMASHED my old pb for s class and got 13th!!! 50. 2xx!!! Me is happy! ALSO, what makes this mega wonderful, is I MADE THE CAR! Setup and build took twice as long as the lap! I think I'll have to make a a class one now and make your super fast time look like a snail with a oil tanker on it's buttocks!

Re: Can anyone help me get even faster on Tsukuba?
yeah part of it is you need a setup that works for you. If you got 13th then obviously you don't need any advice except to watch the replays of the racers faster than you. I wouldn't mind trying out that car tho LOL

Re: Can anyone help me get even faster on Tsukuba?
I'll race you for it! 25 laps of Tsukuba S class. If you win, you get my car for free, you lose it'll cost 550,000. Is that ok with you? Seeing as your a member of AMG, please bring Akina along so I can kick his *** too!

Beat your time and I'm now 71st in my a class version of super speedy s class rocket. If Jed can hear me, can I send you a copy of both classes for you to test, please? If I can get these times, you should be doing 51's and 48's in a and s class respectively! Thinking about it, does anyone think that a 51 in a class is possible? or a 48 in s class?

Re: Can anyone help me get even faster on Tsukuba?
No I don't think a 51 in A Class or a 48 in S Class is possible to get. People have already drove the hell out of Tsukuba, so I doubt there is almost another second left in the track. Brake later than you normally do in to every corner and see if you can still make it around the corner. If you can, then this is success. I assume you already know the correct lines to take anyway, so it is probably down to when to brake.

Re: Can anyone help me get even faster on Tsukuba?
Yeah, I think you are right. At the most, maybe a 49.3 or 4, and the car would have to be perfectly setup. Well, at least we can all have some fun trying to get to those times anyway!

Now, this is when you know you are getting good! My first bit of advice to offer! Watch my replay and really study the lines I or anybody in the top 100 takes. Also, try and get hold of a Killer bee or B52 by Azzurri Tuning. These are great cars to start off with on Tsukuba, as they're both very well balanced and only lose grip if you do something really stupid! ![Big Smile [:D]](/emoticons/emotion-2.gif) Next, choose a ghost and chase it! Try to stick as close to the bum of said ghost as possible and my biggest tip forr 22b users, DO AT LEAST 20 LAPS! The tyres on my 22b are only properly heated after 14-18 laps of seriously hammering it around every corners. Any more advice you'd like, then pm me on xbl and I'll happily help more. Cool?

Well, I reasonably know the lines! What is the fastest way through the 2nd to last corner? I always *** it up through there. If anything, that is my weak spot! Even more so if I'm ahead of my ghost and try to brake a little bit later, then I run wide and start calling my car, tv, xbox and the missus various expletives!

I always lose time through there. But I try to make sure the car is ready to shift into 3rd on corner exit, and leave it in 3rd all the way down the back straight and through the final corner. But you already know that

Re: Can anyone help me get even faster on Tsukuba?
Have you watched my replay? I've done so many laps recently, every lap I always lose time on that stupid chicane bit and at the next hairpin, I can't seem to find the correct line for max speed. TRC Kami, if you are out there, could we do a race sometime to watch your line there? I would much appreciate it! Maybe a free copy of my Scooby for your time?
