When we released our Chevrolet Cobalt SS back in April it was a great success and got a great review from the Cobalt shootout in which Forzatimes held. One of the customers 'Benney D' who
managed to get hold of a Limited Edition sent me a PM saying that he
really liked the car but he could improve on the tune. After a few
messages and a few races IL3 and I decided that a new tuner to our
garage would be a great idea and with Benney D's personal
project already half tuned it was sure to be released under Spot
Performance. Searching around for ideas for the paintwork Benny D found a
couple of designs in which we started to use. In the end it turned
into 'Street Fever' which has an outstanding effect to it. With a
unique carbon bodykit and Japanese drifting style vinyls this car not
only drives fast but is great to look at
Benney D has been working on this car since Forza Motorsport 2 was
released back in 2007 and has had many wins online with it. With the
cornering abilities of a Mugen Integra and has a good speed on the
straights too. This is sure to be a winner and a possible new LB car.
Off to Road Atlanta Short where most of Street Fever's testing was
done and with a previous PB of 00.54.184 which was set in AZT's Awesome
Mazda INGS RX7 it was sure to be an impossible challenge of beating my
PB. On the first ever test drive with Benney D's tune I achieved a time
of 00.54.694 which was quite good for me. Still half a second away from
that PB though. We sent it off to the garage for some engine upgrades and some tweeks to the tune. The next
day and back to the track for another shot at that PB, things were
looking better after I had set a 00.54.492 on my second lap. This car
had alot better turn-in abilities than the previous tune. With my times
getting faster Street Fever was sure to get close to beating the PB as it was
consistantly getting 00.54.2xx every lap without fail. One lap it
actually finished ahead of my PB ghost but for some reason it said i
was .043 slower. As you can imagine i was furious! I had given up for
the night but i couldn't get off the Xbox, I think I had Street Fever! I
knew i could beat my PB and i stayed for one more shot. 7 laps later
and i had smashed my PB and got a 00.53.992 This was the first ever car
to get me into the 53's after many tries with other great cars. Later in the week Benney D
decided to change some parts around and add an extra 3hp and replace
the VIS rear bumper with the Forza race Bumper. We went online for some
testing against some random people and on the 4th lap i had beaten my
PB again. With a final time of 00.53.891 we had beaten our goal of
00.54.184 Check Leaderboard for replay! We sent the car over to s1cked2
who is our A-class test driver and he managed an amazing time of
00.53.775 after 6 laps. He is so close to beating his PB with this car
and he reckons that he could get a 00.53.6xx. Note: s1cked2 uses the Microsft Wheel!
We
have added some automatic gear for people that do not use manual
transmission. The manual gearing setup works quite well with automatic
racers but if you have trouble feel free to use the setup provided
below. It has only been tested on Road Atlanta Short but seems to work
just as well.
