Introduction
A few of you have been patiently waiting for the opportunity to get these LEs ever since I showcased them in my thread in the Real Life Replicas / Race Liveries forum, and so we're pleased to finally announce that the time has arrived for us to release these LEs!!
We thought about this for quite some time, and instead of limiting each of the colors to just one, we decided to release three of each of the color schemes (which are shown above) in order to give more members of this community the opportunity to own one. There are 7 color schemes available--magenta, red, orange, yellow, teal, black, and orange/CF--for a total of 21 LEs. In addition, there will be one more LE, a one-off custom color scheme, where you get to decide which colors you want on the car!
One of the major drawbacks of releasing so many LEs is deciding when to put them on the AH so that everyone in all the different time zones has an opportunity to bid on them. In addition, a complication specific to this release is that two tunes are available, and thus it would be difficult to gauge which tune to pair with the LE liveries if we were to post them directly on the AH.
To address this issue, we've come up with a novel way of auctioning off these LEs. Yes, they will indeed be auctioned off but not through the AH. Rather, our idea is to implement a silent auction system over the course of one week. To my knowledge, this type of system has never been used before in the Tuning Marketplace, and while it is risky to change the way auctions are done, we hope this will be a more enjoyable auction experience for the community. So please read on if this has your interest piqued!
Silent Auction Details
The silent auction is open to all members of the FM.net forums and will last 7 days from 12AM EST (5AM GMT) on Saturday, May 10th, 2008 to 12AM EST (5AM GMT) on Saturday, May 17th, 2008 with a minimum starting bid of 1 million credits. (Please do not start submitting bids until the silent auction officially starts.)
All bids must be submitted to me (nahos81) via PMs using the template in the 3rd post and should include (1) your gamertag and forum name, (2) your LE color scheme preference(s), (3) your bid amount for each color preference, and (4) your preferred tune (either speed or handling) for each color preference. However, please note that you will be allowed to submit only one bid per day for a total of 7 bids during the week. In addition, there will be a limit of only 2 LEs per person, but note that you do have the the option to change either the amount of your bid or your preferred color scheme(s) whenever you submit your next bid.
At the end of each day before I go to bed (approximately 12-1 AM EST), I will provide an update where I will list the the top 20 bidders for each color scheme to provide you with some feedback that will help you decide whether or not to change your bid. Thus, if you bid on the first day of the silent auction, you will have the opportunity to counter-bid 6 times until the end. However, since this is a silent auction, bid amounts will not be revealed. This should keep things interesting as you decide what color scheme to bid on and how much you should bid. One thing I request though is that when you submit your subsequent bids, please reply to the original PM so that it will reduce the volume of PMs in my Inbox.
You are definitely welcome to discuss which color schemes you like and plan to bid on here in this thread, but at no point should you reveal the amount of your bid. In addition, please do not place a bid you cannot afford. If you win one of the LEs but do not have enough credits, the LE will be sold to the next highest bidder. I'd rather not have to deal with this, so please be sincere with your bids.
Finally, once the winners are announced, I will do my best to build up the cars and deliver them to you in a timely manner. Minis (or other comparable cars) will be put up on the AH to transfer credits, and once these cars are bought out, the car(s) will be gifted to you. Please be patient though when waiting for the delivery of your LE(s), as it may take some time to deliver all 22 cars.
If anything is unclear, please do not hesitate to ask. As this is an untested method of auctioning LEs here in the Tuning Marketplace, it is quite reasonable to expect some hiccups along the way. With that said, we will do our best to run this silent auction as smoothly as we possibly can.

Custom LE Details
Here is a list of the major changes that can be made to the paint, and what some common options would be. When describing these changes, I will use the Yellow LE as my reference.
- Base paint (Silver on Yellow LE) -- It can be any standard or metallic color, custom manufacturer color, or carbon fiber.
- Primary color (Yellow on Yellow LE) -- It can be any standard color or custom manufacturer color, but note that choosing black will mean that the hood vents will no longer be visible. My recommendation if you choose black is to delete the hood vents.
- 1st Secondary color (Orange on Yellow LE) -- It can be any standard color or custom manufacturer color.
- 2nd Secondary color (White on Yellow LE) -- It can be any standard color or custom manufacturer color, but note that choosing black will mean that part of the hood vents will no longer be visible. My recommendation if you choose black is to delete the hood vents.
- Accent color (Red on Yellow LE) -- It can be any standard color or custom manufacturer color.
- Wheel color (Gunmetal or White on Yellow LE) -- It can be any standard color or custom manufacturer color.
