I guess no one uses the ion but when they do they put extremely expensive high quality paintjobs on them.

I think one thing that people aren't considering, is that a lot of people use inexpensive cars to exchange credits.  That's why the Mini Cooper is so high up on the list.

Also, low-volume cars will have a somewhat higher susceptibility to having their averages thrown off by only a few "out-there" auctions (or "currency transfers" as someone mentioned above me).

LOL...  More than likely.  It certainly isn't from the designs or tunes on them as there are very few.  People are too worried about being banned for giving credits to friends on Mini's so it looks like they are trying different cars.

OK, the most-sold cars aren't that surprising.  Basically, they're the scoreboard cars.  The most expensive, though...interesting.  I've seen some Ions on the scoreboards, as well as some Scions.  Maybe some people have put out really good tunes on them.  I dunno.  Maybe noobs are buying them because they have 100 wins or whatever.  The cash transfer thing seems likely, though.

The most expensive car list definitely needs a sales volume number to go with it.
If the MR-S has the highest average price and the volume of sales is 2 (i.e. a number that's very low compared to the average sales volume for other cars) then it's being used for currency exchange.
I believe most people use the cheapest car in their region for that purpose, I've used the Porsche 914 myself in the Europe region.

Of course, if the sales volume is high that theory goes down the drain.

The mini gets handed around for paint, it has a very flat roof which allows lots of artists to paint decals on the roof. It's the "canvas" car of choise for most logo/decal paints.
