    C-Class 1973 Carrera RS

Trying to follow Fit4AKing's lead, here are some specs for a C-Class 1973 Carrera RS

I've run faster laps with other cars, so these times won't show up on the scoreboard, but I've run this car in 1:40.023 at Sunset Infield, which would currently put it at #882, and a 1:31.644 at Road Atlanta, which would be #568.

So, nope, this car will probably not knock out the top times, but it's a fun Rear-Engine Rear-Wheel-drive care to play with.

If you try this out, keep in mind that I'm much more of a Driver than a Tuner, and I'm sure this setup could be improved - particularly the gearing. Any comments and/or improvements are certainly welcome!

The 1973 Carrera RS is a good C class car. I have mine built out to 550. I will try out your tune. If you like I will post my current build.

    Re: C-Class 1973 Carrera RS

Always interested in other options / ideas. There are soooo many ways to build-out the car, and everyone has different driving styles and preferences - so there's really no "one-fits-all" configuration.

I think I have 5 of these at the moment, covering C, B and A class. But the only one I really ever drive is this one.... mainly because it's very close to what I really drive - not exact, of course, but close ;)

    Don,

Your 3.2 Carrera in your sig?? Nice.... I run a 3.6l 993 - only thing in forza similar is gt2 and cannot get it to handle at all - have you tried tuning one of those??? My 70's Carrera is in B - guess set up is fairly similar to C class set up.....

    Re: C-Class 1973 Carrera RS

    Hey Andy...

I've played around with the GT2 - man, it's a beast to handle though. I set one up for A850 based on the specs in this thread. It's not too bad, although tough to keep the rear-end under control. I managed to post a half-decent Hot-Lap time on Road Atlanta - 1:21.652 (no assists), which is currently at #415 on the scoreboard.

I don't *think* I made any changes to the tuning, 'cept maybe the brake pressure. I'll double check and let you know.

The pic is, indeed, my 3.2 Carrera ;) It's an '89 that I bought in '01. The pic is from last summer at a DE event out at Road Atlanta. The car was fully stock, except for the tires (Toyo RA-1s). Over the winter, I put Bilstein Sport suspension on it, and got a track-alignment at a race shop... I'm dying to get it back out on the track (our January event was canceled due to snow). Here's a link to a larger version of that photo (just in case you're bored and want to take a look): big photo

    Re: C-Class 1973 Carrera RS

Nice car! I ran a few laps with it on Sunset Peninsula long and I like it quite a bit. By the by, it turns out that my personal build was an old one I put together with non-adjustable parts, so I won't be posting it.

I adjusted the camber on your tune to -0.5 for both front and rear.

Since Maple Valley long is my "camber track," I ran a few laps. I pulled of a 1:47.679 after three laps, which is very good for me. I also took it to Road America and ran a 2:35.475. Thanks for the tune! This car was an old favorite, and this has given it a new lease on life.

Hey - glad you liked it.

Looks like we've got a new "sticky" thread at the top to keep a database of-sorts for posted builds/tunes. Let's keep 'em coming!
