Lexus IS300 - C-Class - Posted by: Fit4aking
Thanks for this Landin, makes me feel like I did some good here. Sort of an egotistical statement but I feel this forum section was a flame war and a begging post a few weeks ago. Boy has it changed, healthy discussion, shared setups and tuning tips, a real community.
By the way there is a similar outline for builds and tunes in my thread about vehicle balance.

If you want it looser, you can lower the rear downforce. I had this Challenger in U class, but it wanted to drift too much, so I downgraded it to A class and it handles much better.

Re: Race Settings Database
Ummm... I use Metric. Should I convert to Standard?
BTW. Glad to see this happen. Thanx Black Jack.
Should also specify if using the "WHEEL" or the "CONTROLER". Because the Tuning is quite different.

Re: Race Settings Database
i do think it's good to help out those who are new to the game and such, but i don't really like this whole idea because as a tuner who selss his work on here to make my money (which isn't much yet mind you) anyone out there could buy my tune, and post it up on here to spread aroud the game all they wanted. all the tuning shops are going to end up losing alot of business due to this thread, and i just wanted to point that out. in that aspect this is going to make some tunes much like the Fast and Furious liveries. spammed and worthless, yeah it's still a good car, but what protection is there from someone buying one of my tunes, that i spent my own free time tuning so that i could buy some new paintjob i wanted or something, and that person turning right around and posting it here, for people to use freely and claiming it as their own. if i put that much time, possibly a few days for some, just so someone can take it and put their name on it in a fraction of the time it took to do it. I'm not saying all people on here would do something like that, i know many people here who have more respect for tuners than to do that, but i also know alot who would do it in a heartbeat. i appologize for the rant here, but i don't think thats fair to us. i can't paint so this is all i've got to keep me going on this game, and sorry but if all the time i spend tuning can just be thrown up here by someone, i've got half a mind to quit now... so for those of you who just skimmed through, the only real point i've tried making in this whole thing, is that i don't think this is quite fair to all tuners in the FM community, i'm sure there are some others who would agree with me on that.

Re: Race Settings Database
I've got a B Class Charger and a C Class SRT4 that I will throw up here in the next couple of weeks. Maybe even an S class and U Class car. Anyways. Have fun and drive safe. oh and Jay, I do my best not to take credit for someone elses work. I posted a drift tuned SRT4 in the Drift database, but it was a stock setup besides the engine swap, but I never took credit for it. Also, I think most of here will do our best not to take creidt for someone elses work. That said, if you do happen to pop in here and see your handywork being flaunted without your permission, just talk to one of the mods, and i am sure they will remove it and probably flag or block the person who did it. because, after all, that is technically copyright infringment. anyways. later.

Re: Race Settings Database
by no means was that post an accusation on anyone that has posted so far. i just found this and read how the first post worked, and as a tuner who sells his work on the game, it just seems like the business could lose alot because of this.

i wasn't trying to accuse any either, nor was i implying that you did. I was just saying that most of us won't post other people's settings, and if somone does, i am sure Turn 10 will take care of it if you let them no. Anyways, just trying to make you feel a little better

Re: Race Settings Database
Tank had a spreadsheet with free tunes. He is tuning for Gearbox, and still also provide some free tunes. I've seen other tuners post free tunes as well. I'm sorry but I don't see how a thread collecting already posted free tunes as a potential threat to any tuner's livelyhood. Anybody can do a search and dig up the free tunes, this is only a handy place to reference them. There has been an issue lately and that might've influenced your feelings a bit. For most part I've never seen that behavior as normal conduct. You can't stop everybody, but they are the exception IMHO.
I'm buying tuned cars from the garages on a regular basis. I've bought some cars just for the paint job and put my own tune on. I've even requested some cars without the tune to use for a different Class. I firmly believe there is a place for the tuner garages and free tunes and both should be able to exist without being a threat to the other.

Re: Race Settings Database
Please remove this thread Landin, people will abuse it and post tunes of cars that arent theirs or just go to a car they bought from a garage and post it on here.

Re: Race Settings Database
Please leave this thread as it was intended. If you would like to discuss any aspect of its conception, use or possible downsides, feel free to do so here:
http://forums.forzamotorsport.net/forums/thread/1384247.aspx
I posted this thread as a place to vent and didn't get any negative responses. It actually showed some tuners where to post thier contributions to the community.
I've seen car in the paint section try to get pawned off as someone elses work and each time the community speaks out and the thread is cleared or deleted. If anyone posts your work here speak up and the tune will dissapear. Also look in the thread about reclaiming this forum. There is a large disclaimer about posting bought tunes and my positon on it. Not that I'm anyone special or even can do anything about it but I did mention it in hopes that people will do the right thing.
Keep this particular thread free of flaming or discussion so it can grow into a useful tool for the rest of the communuty. There are pelnty of cars and tunes out there for everyone to make thier money. Also mentioned in the above thread.
Thanks for understanding Fit4aking
