    A850 C6 ZO6 Tune for Nurburgring

I posted this in the tuning market place as a free tune as well.  I tuned the car with ease of use in mind.  Its not an all out speed tune, thats just not my driving style.  Build it up and try it out if you like.  Let me know what you think if you do.  Keep in mind that the tune is a wip, and I will update it here as I make improvements to it.  The gears are still mainly stock, as I havent had a chance to really work on them.  Feel free to post any recommended gear settings if you happen to come up with one.

do you have gearing for automatic?  that would be really sweet.  Built this car a few weeks ago but found it difficult to win with.  I'm a n00bface though.

I actually drive with AT myself.  So those are the gears I've been using.  I've been able to rack up a few wins online on both tracks I have times posted for.  There will definitely be faster cars out there with more power.  I just dont do so well with all out power cars.  So I just stick with consistency and grip instead Stick out tongue [:P]

Jeff, I believe I have a decent gearset for this car. I will try to finish it up and let you know about them.

Here are the real Z06's gear ratios. They should work well since you haven't modified the engine. I generally use the real gears as a baseline and tweak as needed.

    FD: 3.42

    1st: 2.97

    2nd: 2.07

    3rd: 1.43

    4th: 1.00

    5th: .71

    6th: .57

Believe or not but I find the C6 ZO6 I find runs better w/o the aero package.

Yeah, its definitely not all that bad without the aero kit.  But it just doesnt fit my driving style.  There are certain turns on the Nurburgring that I expect to take at certain speeds.  And without the aero kit, the car will just pull off the track on those turns at that kind of speed.

Granted It would be easy to adapt to the car with no aero, and just slow down a little in those turns.  I just find it more fun to go faster in the turns and sacrifice top end speed on the straights.  Thats just me though, to each his own Yes [Y]

There is a new "Stickie" at the top of this Forum.  You should move your set-up there. It's going to be a Tuner's/ Learners Dreamland.

This is definitely good advice. I saw this mentioned in another thread a few days ago, it may have even been you who suggested it, so I tried it on one of the cars I had previously built. It was a Ferrari, the F355 I believe, I looked up the real gears for the car and applied them to my tune. To my amazement it knocked off nearly 2 seconds lap time just by changing the gears. Am planning on doing this for some more cars.

What do you suggest doing on cars that were only available with 5 or 4 speed gear boxes if i'm using a 6 speed race trans in-game?

Btw, thanks for posting the gears for this Z06 tune, will try them out here in a bit. I ran across this tune a while back and love it. Anxious to see the improvement when I apply the real gear ratios to it.

    Re: A850 C6 ZO6 Tune for Nurburgring

Great tune! Excellent choice for multiplayer battles, this one will definantly take the cake against 99% of the players out there if you have any bit of confidence in your driving. Everyone should try this one out, as it was definantly tuned for ease of use. Great for the masses.

On another note though, I was hoping to try and win some cr. and I just don't know if the car is capable of sub 7:28.xxx. (current 100th) Even though my first try yeilded a 7:36.xxx. outta it, I felt like I was pushing it to the max already, at least not enough room to knock 8 seconds off it. Gonna give the gears a shot, maybe drop the downforce just a little and see what I can run. I can probably muster 2-4 seconds outta it, but then I'm at my max with this car I think. None the less, great car and thanks again for a quality free tune. I'm off to try and break some records with it again, wish me luck!

Glad you like the tune DjSpeed, and you are correct, I may have set the bar too high.  I'll think of something else and make it easier for someone to win the CR Yes [Y]

Great set up for this car, have used it online and is a great and fun car to drive, will be trying the other gearing to see how it goes, but i think this is my new favorite car.

wow. great car. but why did you include tire width in the setup? the Z06 doesnt have an option for tire width
