Well here is one that will make everyone close and it will be. With the up and coming Daytona 500 and the new Nascar Season around the corner all the top racers are testing hard. The are working on parts and the right set up for race day here is our chance to do it with them.

So with that in mind it's perfect that this weeks Hotlap Challenge is B class PI 600 at the Nissan Speedway.

Well, I must say that this one is a bit harder than it looks.

I got a 45.xxx last night with my preliminary run. But the time is going to be having to come down to about a mid 42.xxx to a low 43.xxx range at least.

 

This is probably going to be one of the closest battles for the entire challnge.

The oval kind of sucks.  But the ring drivers got their day as did the TT drivers so I suppose it's only fair to throw the oval in there one week.  The thing I'm not liking are these mixed-pi settings.  In theory they're nice but in practice they end up being scaled down versions of whatever the normal scoreboard car is.  Like this week.  It's going to be the 1100 hp Charger even with the mixed PI settings.  Might as well have made it open to all B class cars.  Atleast that way it's one less track everyone would have to come back and set times for the Hotlaps for.

Hahaha... Thanks a lot Scot. With B class and a 600 PI limit, who knows what combination we can come up with. It will be interesting to see what can be done with the dominate cars or is there another car that can compete?

Great choice with the Speedway. The speedway is not really that hard. It just takes a little concentration and a lot of practice to keep the perfect line.

There are more speedway racers out there than a lot of people would like to admit. Just look on the Leaderboards and see how many good Forza racers are there.

Everyone can see that there are two dominate choices, but with a PI limit of 600 can there be another car?

Some of you people that keep getting in the top 100 in the HLC and say that you hate the Speedway are in a way a little funny. I see some of your names in the top 100 on the speedway.

How many noticed that as soon as a fast time was put up in last weeks HLC, that they pulled out a D Class Chevelle or Charger and proceeded to get a faster time on the Sunset Infield in order to cover up what car they were using in the HLC. I thank VVV Chilled Heat for not covering up his Honda Prelude time. I used his Ghost to help me get a faster time.

Once again congratulations to the people that were able to get below 1:41 this week. Great racing.

Gentlemen, START your engines! Will we see a lot of 1:43's this week?

LOL, I thought I was all fast and stuff pulling 1.43.xx's on my first practice run in Exhibition, but of course I forgot that having simulation tires/fuel off during my practice made a HUGE difference when I went to put down a lap time on the HLC this week...yup, this one should be entertaining.  Good luck all!

Well since I have web access here at the resort I thought I would stop by and see how things are shaping up.  So far it seems like this is not going to be a case of floor it and post your best time based on how close you could stay to the white line which is good.

 

What many of you fail to realize is that when I threw the bone out there 4 weeks ago about including this track that was your time to give feedback on this selection.  There were a couple of people not in favor of it but much of the feedback was positive.  Many people enjoy runing the ovals.  While I personally do not how is this any different than driving any other track or class you hate?  Many people hate R1, but it needed to be given a chance.  The speedway is no different.  Just because YOU don't like oval racing doesn't mean you need to be disrespectful to others who do.  I'll be back on Monday or Tuesday until then good luck all!

Oh and Korn how on earth did you get a top 10 time on Sunset with a 40.9?  I posted a 40.4 and I finished 19th.

Best I did on a couple runs at the HLC was in the 1.45.5xx's I think LOL...plenty of room for improvement with a few tweaks and figuring out the exact tire pressure that will be the most efficient for speed and longetivity of more than 3 laps hahaha.
