    Touge (Rules/Guidelines/Challanges/Set-Ups)

Touge (, tōge?) is a Japanese word literally meaning "pass." It refers to a mountain pass or any of the narrow, winding roads that can be found in and around the mountains of Japan and other geographically similar areas.

Ok touge is getting a little more popular but still ran unorganized and alot of the times ran wrong. Touge is often thought of as drift racing wich it is NOT. Drifting is a driving style wich some people use in touge races but not many.

Anyways im making this so people can discuss everything touge related. Talk about tuning/set-ups or challange another person, post your pics whatever.

    Example of TOUGE Battles-

    Rules

    • Atleast 2 Judges needed (1 at the end of the course that watches distance and marks the end of course, and the 1 judge to follow and watch for bumps and passes)
    • Stopped Start- pic a time and go (ex. go at 2:45:00)
    • 50 MPH roll in start..... remember stay as close as possible
    • To start the race the lead car taps his brakes 2 times so the brake lights blink twice to let the follow car know the race has started
    • Best out of 3 format, lead car changes after each run ( if you lead on the way down you will follow on the way up)

    To Win

    LEAD CAR

    • If the leader crosses the end of course with 60 or MORE meters between each other round goes to leader
    • If the following car bumps/crash into the leader round goes to leader

    FOLLOW CAR

    • If the leader crosses the finish line with 20 or LESS metters between each other round goes to following car
    • If the following car passes the leader round goes to following car

    Draw

    • If the leader and follower are within 21-59 meters of each other when the leader crosses the finish line round ends in a draw

    Nurburgring Touge Sections

Disregard the DoomTree section its usely only used for drift battles all TOUGE battles go down on the long course

the start is at this motorcycle sign that will be on your right side when your doing the track in reverse

and the end is on the straight where the name "PAULA" is found

Thanks to KageKuro Dre for helping perfect this touge section

Let me know what you think, talk touge. If you have any questions hit me up

    Re: Touge (Rules/Guidelines/Challanges/Set-Ups)

    this is great.
i really like the touge idea and the rules are great too, im going to try this out so i can experince it myself and see if it can be improved if so.

this sould be stickeied so that others will know and learn and follow these rules so everyone is one the same page about how a tuge is ran.

    good work man.

thanks, ya I dont think it will get stickied I hope it does because I hate people saying lets touge battle and then all they really watnt to do is drift race. Oh and if you can think of anything to improve the rules just let me know.

    Re: Touge (Rules/Guidelines/Challanges/Set-Ups)

I know what touge is, I used to host a site where my friends would go out to touge battle and record them battling and i would upload it to the site, but that was years ago, the site is gone now and so are the videos.

but anyways i just got done running the two touge spots. I see why you choose those two spots because the road is thinnest on those parts, its barely enough room for two cars to sit side-by-side, it would be hard for someone to pass without going into the grass and F-ing up and the roads are very curvy and the elevation changes drastically. its the closet thing to a perfect touge without moutains.

the only thing that messes this up is the finding the finish and starting points. i tried to find some around teh finish and start points but there was nothing special or any landmarks out of the ordinaray around them, but i did manage to find some cones with a finish line in between them. but this was located a few corners BEFORE the finish point on the longer touge route.

    heres a picture.
I was able to find the pionts exactly because my computer and my 360 is hooked up to the same 22inch LCD screenso i was able to do the PIP(picture in picture) so i was able to look at the game and the website at the same time and find the points the map. but it was even harder to find those points because the map cant be zoomed in once your on the trackso i had to get familiar with where certain corners was to know where i was on the map/track.

but yea man, besides finding where these points are, everything else is pretty good. i tried to get some people in the room wiht me to test out the whole timer and distance system, but they didn't join my room, so i wasnt able to do taht yet, but i will when more poeple get online.

    Re: Touge (Rules/Guidelines/Challanges/Set-Ups)

this post is for Tophmangt's question

actually its both. its what ever you want it to be, the reason some people use drift because some corners you dont have to slow down, you can actually speed up and drift right into them without using the brakes at all, while if you was gripping you would need to slow down and use the brakes. but wiht drifitng, you slow down while your in the middle of the drift depending on what style of drifting you use and your angle, speed and line, while gripping you go faster as you leave the corner.

but in cars like the AE86, where the RPMs takes a while for you to build them up, it would be best to drift around the corners, but not like stylish drifting though, speed drifting. speed drifting is where the back wheels lose JUST enough traction in the rear to turn the car in the corner's exit direction while maintaining your speed. your rear wheels slides out VERY LITTLE sometimes it dont even look like drifting.
speed drifting is a technique used to slide your car using minimum angle to pint your car ins the corners direction to around the corner and keep your speed and RPMs up without slowing down much or not at all.

you can drift or you can grip, which ever one you think you can get around corners the fastest.

    Re: Touge (Rules/Guidelines/Challanges/Set-Ups)

well me and ghandi is racing right now, and we came up with something.
you know when you watch a touge tehres a distance teh follower much reach to win, adn thers a distance the leader mush maintain to win, we thought in order for the follower to win, the ditance should be 20. if the follower crosses the finish line with a tance of 20 meters or less, then the follower wins that round. If we think of something else, i'll post it here so it could be discussed further.

    Re: Touge (Rules/Guidelines/Challanges/Set-Ups)

what if they both leave the line and stay 15 meters within each other the whole time, but for some reason the follower drops back 5 meters to to 20 again...would he win even though the lead would have increased the lead by 5 meters? just wondering what the views would be on a situation that is so close, but technically there is an increase in distance. Me personally would just say follow won, or draw, but the 20 meter thing makes me wonder about close races and people getting mad at each other (which I hope doesn't happen).

Oh and BTW i love this idea. I made "touge monster" mcr skyline a while back and i use to do this on nurburgring with friends the same rules, but we did the whole track to see who could also have a better time on it. This is much funner than doing the whole track.
