What constitutes far too many?  The few hundred out of the couple million people that have posted in this forum?

I'll bet you any game with this much of an install base about the same % of people "freeze" randomly.

You have a point, but still 900+ people shouldn't have this problem from such a supposedly good developer. Plus it's not random freezes, it's constant and driving me up the *** wall. -_-

Have you tried the same disc in a different XBox?

I love how they give answers to questions we don't ask.  We said THE GAME FREEZES RANDOMLY!!!!!!!  Maybe you'll be able to read that......and how can it be beyond a patch when it could be a patch that caused the issue???

Not falling on deaf ears, huh???

I realize that you are trying to add some perspective to the problem, but I have never had a video game freeze as often as Forza does. In fact, most of the games that I play ( on consoles ) don't freeze at all and a few rarely or under very specific circumstances. A race car game that wont let you scroll thru your cars or freezes in the game lobby should be unacceptable at any percentage, because that is the heart of the game.

Re: @ Turn 10, PLEASE address the freezing issue.

I got multiple copies of MLB 2k7 last year... no matter what I did the game always froze after about 5 innings.  What a horrible game and how unbeliveably frustrating to not even be able to play a 9 inning game.  Eventually got RRoD and didn't have any problems on my new XBox...  No other game had a single issue in my XBox... just that one.

Re: @ Turn 10, PLEASE address the freezing issue.

Who gives a *** about MLB 2K7?!  Is this an MLB 2K7 forum board?!  Since when did Forza Motorsport 2 have to do with baseball?!  We're not telling you about that ***' game, we've been saying the same *** for God knows how long, with no solution, and talking about a ***' baseball game isn't helping at all.

Hey, here's an idea, if they made a game that was unplayable on the 360, why not AVOID DOING THE SAME?!!!

Re: @ Turn 10, PLEASE address the freezing issue.

    NEW TIP!!!!!

I just tried something since my game kept freezing everytime I tried to upgrade a car, so I cleared the cache TWICE, not just once.  It may not work for some, God forbid, but try clearing it more than once, until the problem goes away.  I did it twice, as stated above, and I can now play on the Ring, whereas I couldn't even take off for five seconds before it would freeze.....worth a shot, right?

The game just froze on Sunset Infield....gonna clear it again

Re: @ Turn 10, PLEASE address the freezing issue.

Sometimes, mine freezes while racing, it used to freeze while loading the NY track, but after I used Novus plastic polish, THAT stopped. It now only does it while trying to race in an online tournament.

Re: @ Turn 10, PLEASE address the freezing issue.

Clearing the cache has mixed results for me.  Cleared it once, and the damn thing froze everytime I tried to put new rims on every third car I modified.  Cleared it again, and it started freezing AT THE VERY BEGINNING!  Cleared it AGAIN, and it now freezes on Nurburgring and it just froze on Mugello.....

Turn 10 has officially turned its back on its customers..........

As I am typing this, I tried to put the game on the King Cobra test track........It just froze in the loading screen........nice job, Turn 10 Big Smile [:D]

Re: @ Turn 10, PLEASE address the freezing issue.

Please fix, I've already deleted my game saves because game ran w/o hd losing 1.5 million + 90 cars and xbox support said this was the fix.  It's not though.  Game locked second race when I tried again.  Only started locking on Pro series Road Atlanta on me, now disk unreadable.  Bought another - disk unreadable.  Bought a third - disk unreadable.  Come on you're killing us by not fixing it.

Re: @ Turn 10, PLEASE address the freezing issue.

I haven't played forza in months and months, so having had a couple of hours free (and after watching the top gear endurance race episode ;-) ) decided to have another bash at Forza and some of the races I hadn't completed.

Put the disc in, accepted an update and away I went!  In only my second race (Laguna Seca in the Viper Manufacturer Cup) game froze on my second lap.  Thought nothing of it and restarted my 360, restarted the race and the game crashed as I pulled away at the start - uh oh, guess this means another RROD!

So put in another game, have a bash at that for an hour, no problem.  Try the same race on Forza, crashes whilst revving the engine on the start line.  A quick search on the internet leads me to all the news posts about Forza's crashing problems.

I know I might be just repeating what has been said elsewhere, but I sunk alot of time in to this game when it came out and never had any problems, SURELY a patch can't have done this to the game???  If so what the hell happened to QA that day, we're they on holiday??

Judging by the date of some of these posts I take it there is no plan to fix the issue?

Re: @ Turn 10, PLEASE address the freezing issue.

I had the same thing happen to me. Haven't played in a while...loaded the update...set up the racing seat, wheel, and table. the xbox locks up with 1/2 a lap to go. Happens online and offline. With different cars on different tracks. Turn 10 please help. I love the **** out of this sim.

Re: @ Turn 10, PLEASE address the freezing issue.

It's not going to get fixed... this thread has been going forever and we've been told two things.

    1. The problem is too deep to be fixed by an update. (Can't find the post at the moment but it was redesign that posted it.)

    2. A few hundred failures is acceptable on any game with this large a retail base. ( from ncasolo - not his exact words, but my paraphrase)

So there you go... you're left with a $60 cup coaster. I turned mine in for GRiD. Not as good as Forza I think, but at least I can race on my 360 again.

Re: @ Turn 10, PLEASE address the freezing issue.

The game has been freezing since the very beginning, and yes randomly.  If you are looking for a moderator or even a T10 person to acknowledge that the freezing is an issue, don't hold your breath.

If they did acknowledge it, they would have to admit a fault somewhere and that fault could cost them the one thing they have to hold onto with both hands, Forza2 (and now FM3).

So play the game, enjoy it while it lasts because eventually,

    • you'll get screwed out of the AH for something (that most claim isn't against FAQ or TOS)
    • the game will crash making the save unreadable
    • it'll start freezing without pattern
    • something completely new will happen making your stay truly unique and UNFIXABLE.

See you on the track....maybe.  Here's to looking forward to FM3.  Cheers.

Re: @ Turn 10, PLEASE address the freezing issue.

I can't scroll through my garage ever since I downloaded content, I have to hit "x" and go through the list...which I don't like...every single time I scroll through my garage the normal way, it freezes...EVERY time. Period.

Thats the only time it freezes, it doesnt freeze in a race, it doesnt freeze in the menus, nowhere else... just when I scroll through my garage at a 100% rate.

Re: @ Turn 10, PLEASE address the freezing issue.

mine freezes EVERY time in the garage while scrolling. ok with the list (actually helpful when you have 250 cars). BUT, on top of that, it recently killed my elite. that is the second 360 that forza has killed. same issue both times (screen corruption, freeze etc). luckily this one was in warranty and was swapped straight away, the first however, was before the 3 year warranty boost, and after the first year. so i am very unhappy with this game right now, and by the looks of it, there are no planned fixes at all.

thanks a lot T10, i used to think that you were better than polyphony digital, but at least GT never froze on me or killed a machine.

Re: @ Turn 10, PLEASE address the freezing issue.

I also think that the freeze probs on the garage depend on the HD fragmentation. I have the freeze problems almost every time I scroll my cars in the garage (about 70 cars) or when I scroll my livreries collection (40 less or more) for the fairlady in the paint section. It's not a temperature problem, because I've encountered the prob even with a cold console. When it freezes the music stops and I have to reboot.

How to defrag the xbox HD?

It's a pity, FM2 can still be the best racing game for console. Now my Grid copy is taking dust after the first enthusiastic week, gorgeus graphics, funny but it's a non-sense to drive a GT race car where you can't modify anything.

Re: @ Turn 10, PLEASE address the freezing issue.

I also have this problem, mine usually freezes at least once in every 3 time i play the game. And it's not my xbox, It's basically brand new. I have a friend who doesn't have xbl and hasn't done the update and his never freezes. Would be greatly appreciated if something was done about it pronto.
