Re: The Cars of Forza Motorsport Showdown

Mmmm I thought the american muscle cars would have to make up for their lower cornering ability with higher horsepower than the rest, but the challenger has less horsepower than the 350z!!!

...mmm very unfair to see a C6 and a Mustang GT with high figures and the rest in clear disadvantage. Unless you restrict the kind of upgrades the higher powered cars can have later in the show, this whole challenge is going to look like something that was set up from the beggining.

If Guchi can bolt on some twin turbos on that stinking Nissan, then I'll cheer for him.

Why does the vette have 340hp. When it comes with 400?

Why a 5 speed when it comes with a 6?

Guchi was almost able to win with such an underpowered car in the 1st race!!! He's the man. Proved to be the best already to me!!!

But I have to say that the obnoxious muscle car driver is making me cheer for the girl as well!!!  Well, that and all the Paris Hilton look :)

Re: The Cars of Forza Motorsport Showdown

How does the Vette have 340hp?  Was it detuned for this event?  The Challenger figures are mind-boggling as well...

Edit:  340 hp would be a 15% loss from the flywheel to the wheels, makes sense.  Looks like the stats were off on some of the transmissions, oh wells.

Guchi is my favorite, but heprofessionalism, the girl's been consistently fastest in her badass 'Stang, so she's my top choice, and Guchi's the underdog.  He's gonna kill in the drift comp, but after that, who knows.  The kid in the Corvette will do well too, any of those three could take the overall win, the rest just don't seem to have a snowball's chance, so to say.

Exactly what I was asking when I saw that.

    Don't 350z's come with a standard 6 speed as well? I'm confused.

Big Smile [:D] So much for the accuracy of marketing materials! Actually I should have double-checked the stats on this word doc but was way too swamped. Besides, those videos are what you should be focused on. :) I'll correct 'em tomorow morning.

As most of you know, car manufacturers measure the HP from the flywheel. If you look at the stats on the cars the HP is listed as RWHP. They are measuring the horsepower from the rear wheel. The stats are pretty much right on, since you lose anywhere from 40-60 HP at the rear wheels. As far as the difference in the tranny, I don't know.

420 RWHP on an 05 'Stang is not totally ridiculous. They would have to be running a Supercharger with a cold air intake and free flow exhaust, along with a REALLY good tune. They are probably running at least 3.52 or 4.12 in the rear end as well. Put that all together with a kickass suspension set up and you have one fast car.

If they can keep gas in it (Their driver ran out of gas during qualifications at Road Atlanta), I think that team will do well overall. I have to say I am rooting for them. Not only is Angela an excellent driver, but that jackass Clarence is talking way too much crap. Especially after she blew his doors off during the drag race.

    Go Team Year One

Damn that challenger engine cracks me up......5.6 (over bored 340ci)? or some new 5.2 mag or  5.9 magnum "truck" version?(when i soo the numbers, truck engine did come to my mind first) and they are also using automatic transmission...and the idea is to race it on road course, not very good combination for that...ofcourse if they use chevy 4-speed 4L60E trans with "paddle/button-sifted manumatic" then they might have good chance...and it acctually looks like they use it Huh? [:^)] but it says 3-speed...so dont know what to think.

Other thing that dosent match is that the challenger dude said bigblock..."5.6" aint bigblock....so what engine it really has?

BTW: Chally has nice breaks....and i bet that the suspension aint bad at all.

EDIT: Damn i must be blind....chespace has alredy noticed that everything aint correct Embarrassed [:$] so i guess i will found out soon what that chally has Smile [:)]

Oh well the driver is the most important part...

War Team Year One..........WAR!!!   Devil [6]

Re: The Cars of Forza Motorsport Showdown

The Challenger does have a big block from the shots I saw of it.

    5.6L? Probably a 383 or 400.

    EDIT:Okay, now that I think about it a 400 is a 6.6L

    so it's either a 361 or a 383 BB.

I wish I could send him a motor I have built up.

    A forged steel crank 383 punched .040 over making it a 390.

It should make just over 400hp and turn 6500rpm all day without a problem.

That's how it is. The Z06 says it has 500 HP but if they are taken to a Dyno they are likely to get 450/475TQ, same thing witht he viper.

That as been said before, there is a difference between flywheel horsepower and wheel horsepower.

The advertised horsepower is at the flywheel. The ones you see quoted on the Forum are at the rear wheel. This is always less than at the flywheel, but can be measured without removing the engine from the car.
