Blue Sky: Forza Motorsport 2 Achievements

If you could have any Achievement(s), what would they be?

Re: Blue Sky: Forza Motorsport 2 Achievements

    Hey, thanks for dropping by!

Well, I'm going to throw some ideas:

    1) Completed Nurburgrin in X--or less-- time.

    2) After completing a massive endurance race
    (you, not a drivatar).

    3) Brand-specific collector achivement, as Bizarre did when you had all the Ferraris (or whatever) in your garage.

    4) When a person alters the original state of every car in their garage, the "Mod Nut" achievement.  Maybe not ALL the cars, you decide that, but it seems like a nice achievement.

    5) After completing any given championship, for example in Forza 1 when we finished with all the point-to-point events.

    6) A "Mr. Clean" achievement when completing certain amount of races--or series of races--with no damage to the car at all.  Of course, if you are using the "no damage" option, you would never get the achievement.

Don't put so many online achievements, not all of us have the time to spend playing that much to get achievements as "completed 4 million races" or things like that.

Re: Blue Sky: Forza Motorsport 2 Achievements

     think tese are a must:
    1. Completed entire career mode (any difficulty)
    2. Completed 10 races with no damage
    3. Completed 10 races with no penalty time added
    4. Lapped someone in career mode

I do feel that there should be minimal amount of achievements to unlock. No more than 20. Its annoying when 10 minutes in one game gets you 100 points, but you spend 10 hours in another game to get 20 points. Dont do that!

Hmm... depending on how the 'main' part of the game is being develeoped, I would try to 'usher' people online, and ensure that they played teh key parts of your game, of course ;) We would need to know more about what you are trying to do with the game to really tell you quality Achievements. However, due to some of the standard practices of games and what is out there, a good start would be similar to:

0 - 5 pts: Gimmies and new feautre checkouts

    - 5 points for having a save game of Forza1 on your HDD ;)
    - Race 50 online races
    - Win a race without incuring a time penalty
    - Race 5 races in each class
    - Enter a tournament and make it to the first round
    - Complete 20% of the career
    - Win a race online with all the assists off
    - Compete and finish in an endurance race
    - Share 10 setups for 10 different cars

6 - 15 pts: More difficult yet easily attainable Achievements for anyone who plays

    - Complete 50% of the career
    - Online: Win a race in each class
    - Oddball: Start last and finish first without hitting another car
    - Star: Start on pole, and win the race by more than 10 seconds
    - Paint and sell at least 10 cars
    -  Join a club with at least 30 members and recruit 10 more members

16 - 50 pts: Dedicated Achievements for someone who is a true fan of the game
    - Set a Top 100 time at every course
    - Be ranked in the Top 100 in the world
    - Own a single car that has over 100 race wins
    - Race over 1000 online races

50 - 75 pts: Achievements that you need to dedicate some time and skill inorder to Achieve
    - A series of challenges similar to :: Complete a lap at Laguna Seca in an STi C1 car in under 1:34.5 seconds
    - Win 15 races in a row online
    - Complete 100% of the career mode
    - Win a race in any class in every car that is stock car for that class

100 pts: Rewards for those in it for the long haul
    - Finish a race in every car in the game
    - 1000 career wins
    - Lifetime win % greater than 35% with at least 500 races

Eh, those aren't the most creative. Hopefully I can come up with something better later.

You forgot the most important one mileage/experience.  I imagine I have almost as much miles on forza per month then in RL, but, sadly I don't own a Carrera GT in RL.

Your other ideas were great, but these suck.

Paint and sell 10 cars will not be achievable to anyone but people with artistic skills. Given what I've seen done to cars in Forza 1 that's roughly 5% of all players. Or you'll just sell 10 cars to your friend. It's a ******** way of achieving the achievements.

Join a club achievement especially with the recruiting requirement automatically makes solo players unable to achieve this one. I'd say people who do not belong to (big) car clubs are in the majority.

Top 100 time achievement, like any other leaderboard achievements, makes them easy to achieve for people who are playing the game 1 minute after release. Everyone else either has to be REALLY good, or there is no chance to get it. Say no to leaderboards achievements. They're crap.

Same with ranked top 100 achievement.

Lifetime win % achievement will also be impossible to achieve by design for 65% of the racers out there (assuming it's for online racing). You want your achievements be at least possible for everyone.

I just wanted to write almost exactly the same things, especially about the leaderboard achievements.

If you wanna make online achievements make something like "Spent x hours in online races" or "Participated in x online races" or even "Won x online races"
but please never ever make leaderboard achievements. Worst example is possibly GRAW with it's World champion, solo champion, team champion achievements.
I'm sure the first 100 people to play it had an easy chance to get these achievements but if you gonna buy the game some months after release, the chance to get these achievements is pretty low.

    - Drive 3000 miles
    - Drive 500 miles in a single car
    - 50 Clean Online Races
    - 50 First Place Online Finishes
    - 5 Start last finish first online victories
    - Look ma, no brakes (Don't use brakes in a race)
    - Win a race only using 1st - 3rd gears

And then my fun achievement for 0 points would be:
-Successfully rear-end any racer in the first turn of an online race.

How about something like a Comeback Victory? Like if you're 4 places down, then on the last lap you take first.

    2000 points for buying forza 2 :-)

i really like what im seeing, most of my ideas are already posted.  i would like to see a garage in FM2, some of us use the garage for pictures and for videos, really adds to the game.
