1. Norway 2. Two days, Premium model 3. No warning, Forza freezes the console consistently after 90-120 minutes of playing regardless of what I've spent that time doing (paint shop, racing, idling). Most freezes occur as I cross the start/finish line. 4. I've just played Forza 2 since I got the console. 5. I have not returned it yet, but I might.

Re: Fill this Form out if your 360 froze or died after playing Forza 2
1. London, UK 2a. 7 months 2b. sept 2006, premium 3. it happens anytime. auction house, during race, in the menu... just anywhere. 4. no issues with demo. but after forza-2 other games had also problems 5. yes, indeed. in fact after I got forza-2, because the freezes were unbearable. they changed the motherboard, but I still got the freezes. I did not pay anything. Comment: I'm so frustrated. I love this game, no doubt. but the technical side is a real let-down. I did everything MS suggested with freezes. then I did what turn10 said and sent my xbox to the repair centre, only a week after I got it (was a replacement for my first one). waited 4 weeks to get it repaired. they changed the motherboard. but again the freezes... sometimes I have during a 3-4 hours session "only" 2 freezes. but right now I had 6 (!) freezes in one hour. this is unbearable. I hope the update will fix this issue.

Re: Fill this Form out if your 360 froze or died after playing Forza 2
1.) Indio, CA (360 purchased in Toledo, Ohio, moved since then)
2a.) Since April/May 2006 (was a replacement from microsoft free of charge after my day1 bought 360 died the week before oblivion came out)
2b.) mfr date is november 22, 2005
3.) no red ring yet, just 3 incidents of total freeze up while using the auction house and while in an online lobby. no problems with F2 offline modes
4.)no problems with the demo or any other game before or after playing F2
5.)have not sent in xbox because the problem is a rare and minor annoyance for me.
side note- several of my friends have 360's and F2 and none have complained of any problems yet. also, aside from the one I replaced last year, none of my friends have had any prob with their 360's at all. if anyone was wondering about my first console, it was a red-ringer and the game that "killed" it was GRAW, although I don't think it was the games fault. for two weeks prior the system was messing up with PGR3. everything black on the screen was showing up with static blue fuzz. it was really annoying.
further side note- i play F2 alot. seriously. when i am not playing it, i am having one of the crappy hired drivers drive endurance races for me (going for 50% discounts on all manufacturers) so my 360 is running F2 an average of 8-10 hours a day and has been doing so for 2.5 weeks now so 3 freeze-ups don't seem too bad considering this level of over-use.

Re: Fill this Form out if your 360 froze or died after playing Forza 2
1) St. Louis, MO 2) Since November 2006 Premium 3) Was freezing at random on Forza 2 but not very often, now it is fried. It boots straight to the red ring (3 lights, not 4) with or without the HD & with or without a game. This is my second Xbox 360, the first one bricked on the initial boot straight out of the box. 4) No other issues with this one. 5) No I haven't, I bought the Best Buy warranty for $60 when the first one didn't work. I am going to take it back tomorrow for a new one. And I will keep frying them and taking them back until someone accepts responsibility and fixes the problem.

4. Has your 360 had issues with Forza demo, or problems on other games besides Forza?
Nope.
5. Have you sent it in for repair? Did you have to pay?

Re: Fill this Form out if your 360 froze or died after playing Forza 2
so far i had my 360 for about 5 months, premium system brand new, baltimore md. Every time i play 1 of my 360 games (forza 2, rainbow six vegas) my box acts up freezes ect. Every time i play a original xbox game (gta san andreas, halo 2) i have no problems what so ever. so to the people saying ITS NOT THE GAMES FAULT, I CANT WAIT TILL IT HAPPENS TO YOU, CAUSE BELEIVE ME IT WILL, and forza 2 main problem is the GARAGE, every time i go in the garage my 360 wants to freeze, one time it did so i turned my box off, turned it back on and got 3 red lights. turned it on, off again and it was fine. but who knows how long my 360 is gonna last?

Re: Fill this Form out if your 360 froze or died after playing Forza 2
I live very close to our friends in Redmond, Wa. and am currently on third 360 console due to Forza Motorsport 2. I think the problem is Forza 2 can run at 300 fps which is a huge strain on the 360's procesor and lens circuitry thereby creating symptoms that first appear to be slow load times, then seizures in garage, then a first lap of a race with no track, only the race line and background, and no conclusion or final tally at end of races, and eventually causing the death of the 360 console due to once again our friend problem being able to design both hardware and software that can operate properly together. (Look at Windows VISTA and all the hardware driver incompatibility issues? no sense, absolutely makes no sense to release software the world does not need or is not capable of utilizing what so ever?) ....(although profit sense,....... yes) ....then the inability to read or play games anymore since its fried. I think this is going to take more than a patch. Same thing happens with UEFA when both teams are in the goal baox area a the same time on a corner. The system goes whacky because it cannot process the graphic detail requirements of the software.

Just to clarify, for those who don't know, the physics engine
(calculating all of the stuff you see in telemetry) runs at 300fps, AND
the graphics are pushed at 60fps. That's just too much data, good point
Jack, I forgot about that factor.

Re: Fill this Form out if your 360 froze or died after playing Forza 2
Hi, I'm in the UK and have had my X-Box 360 Premium Pack since febuary, I have not had the three lights of death but have suffered problems with Forza 2. I have alos found a fix that seems to have worked for me if not 100%. Forza 2 for me was fine for the first month of ownership, then it started freezing at the orange main title screen when the saving data signal was on the screen, it didn't do it every time, maybe every fifth time. This continued for a few days until it then started freezing on the loading race screens, the little bars would stop moving and the music would go off and nothing could be done. Also when some races did load up, some of the textures from the scenery where missing, parts of the track would just show in black. At first I thought it may be an X-Box cooling problem so I contacted MS via e-mail, 2 days later I recieved a reply that was mainly a copied page from the website advising me to empty HD cache and try again. Tried it, No better. So I set to searching the forums and within a few minutes found the saviour of all forums. It said that it was not the X-Box itself that was the problem, it was the power supply, it has its own cooling and it seems that with the amount of processing power running forza at 60fps draws extra power from the PSU which if it is not completely ventilated (and I mean all 6 sides) it can overheat and shut down the X-Box fans causing a crash. Since I have moved the PSU Forza hardly ever crashes (although still does sometimes). So thats a tip for you, try that first and if that doesn't work then you could have serious troubles.
I had the same sort of Fault with Flat Out ultimate carnage too but I swapped the disk at the store after I noticed a scratch on it and its worked fine since but coincidentally this was at the same time as putting the PSU in a better place so that could have been the problem for that too.

1. Norway 2. close to a year 3. No warning, Forza freezes the console playing regardless of what I've spent that time doing (paint shop, racing, idling). No specific time, might as well freeze in first race as after two hours of playing 4. No other games have ever cause problems. Owns appx 20 games 5. I have not returned it yet, but I might.

Re: Fill this Form out if your 360 froze or died after playing Forza 2
I've had Forza for 2 months and had no problems. Last night it started to freeze in the first lap of every race I played. I got the red lights once, but mainly it was just a frozen screen with no disc read error message. Does this mean my xbox is fried and I'll be able to use the warranty, or is it just a problem with the game?

A problem with the game in general...or a problem with my specific disk i.e. a scratch on it? Why does it start freezing all of a sudden after so much play time? Would it be possible to get a refund for the game, even though I've had it for 2 months?
