Re: Fill this Form out if your 360 froze or died after playing Forza 2

    1. Where are you from? Canada
2.a. How long have you had your 360? 5 months, 3 weeks and 2 days
2.b. Do you know the Manufacture Date and/or Model? (ex. Core, Premium, Elite) Premium
    3. Short summary or paragraph of problems just before your 360 got 3 red lights or froze. I had no problems on other games. On Forza I started to notice the controller was not responding as if the batteries were very low. Then the game would just freeze for no reason. Finally the screen froze with white lines all over it and checkers.
    4. Has your 360 had issues with Forza demo, or problems on other games besides Forza? No
    5. Have you sent it in for repair? Did you have to pay? I sent it back to best buy in the box of the packaging of the new xbox I bought.

    4. Has your 360 had issues with Forza demo, or problems on other games besides Forza?

No issues on any other game.  Forza 2 had gone all white and blurry a couple of times before but rebooting the console fixed it.

    5. Have you sent it in for repair? Did you have to pay?

Have not sent it in yet.  MS wants $139 plus shipping to fix it because it is over a year old.

I'm pretty sure this should be free for you now, buddy... Try back with tech support, give them a call again and see if your console problem falls under their new extended warranty program...

5: Waiting on box but still covered by warranty for the next 6 months.

Re: Fill this Form out if your 360 froze or died after playing Forza 2

    1) NE England.

    2a) 3 months.

    2b) Premium.

    3) I get to play Forza 2 for maybe 3-4 races, then strange things happen.  The disc makes a distinct "whirring to a stop" noise, a lot of the background graphics get corrupted (imagine a commodore 64 loading screen, that is what my b/ground goes like) .... then when I go to race, it just freezes on the loading screen, the one where it displays the tips.

    4) So far, my 360 has had no problems with any other game, even ones like The Darkness which everyone else said caused their machines to freeze/glitch.

    5) No repair needed (yet) but it is annoying me.

Is anyone still getting told that they have to pay to get their 3 Red Lights fixed?? Their worldwide info rollout should be in effect now, all issues relating to 3 red lights even if out of warranty, should be fixed completely free of charge...

    1. SAN JOSE, CA USA
    2.
        A. OCTOBER 06
B.PREMIUM (NOT SURE OF MANUFACTURING DATE)
    3. MY SYSTEM FREEZES OR I GET THAT "PUT THIS DISK IN A XBOX360 MESSAGE IN         DIFFERENT LANGUAGES. SO SOMETIMES IT WORKS FINE AND SOMETIMES IT             DOESNT.
    4. IT DID THE SAME THING WITH "GEARS OF WAR" AND "NEED FOR SPEED MOST             WANTED"
    5. IT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP ONCE ALREADY. I DIDNT HAVE TO PAY. IT WORKED             SOMEWHAT OK UNTIL I BOUGHT "FM2"

Re: Fill this Form out if your 360 froze or died after playing Forza 2

    1. Where are you from?      Jersey, United Kindom
2.a. How long have you had your 360?
    9 months
2.b. Do you know the Manufacture Date and/or Model? (ex. Core, Premium, Elite)
    Premium
    3. Short summary or paragraph of problems just before your 360 got 3 red lights or froze.
First noticed that the background images (the revolving grey background) had dissapeared and were corrupt with multi coloured dots and lines. Then noticed longer loading times, which eventually led to "the disc is unreadable" etc etc. Dont want to try again through fear of ring of death.
    4. Has your 360 had issues with Forza demo, or problems on other games besides Forza?    No other issues
    5. Have you sent it in for repair? Did you have to pay? Not sent for repair yet.    Hoping a fix appears. This may be due to the games code causing the xbox to overheat (highly unlikely, but i cant think if anything else!)

Gutted because its an awesome simulation. Hope something can be done.

i think its funny that people cannot see a bridge between software and hardware related issues. The software makes it run out of specs? Then something in the hardware will fail at some point moron.

Its not like everyone is making this stuff up. WE HAD NO PROBLEMS TILL FORZA 2. how many are there of us now?

Anyway, thanks to the extend in warranty AGAIN i get to have my box repaired and im content at this point.

Do I need to hunt down other topics with other specific games where people SWORE that a specific, newly-released game caused their 360s to crash?

Gears of War is one game that people were CERTAIN caused their 360s to crash, but oh wells - it MUST be Forza 2, right?  Let's completely forget about the crazy hardware issues Microsoft is having and has been having long BEFORE the release of Forza 2!

Anyways turn your 360 in, and enjoy Forza 2 like myself and the thousands of others with zero issues!

    :)

Re: Fill this Form out if your 360 froze or died after playing Forza 2

    1.  Alexandria, VA

2.a.  Premium purchased in April 2006, traded in and got Elite in July 2007.

    2.b.  Elite = April 2007 (manufacture date)

    3.  Purchased new copy of forza 2 when I still had the Premium system.  It froze up once in a while.  Soon after I got an Elite, and in the three weeks I've had it has frozen up about 5 times!  Once in the auction house, sometimes while scrolling through cars, other times during the middle of races, pretty annoying as I lose what I was doing if it hasn't yet saved.

    4.  Not sure.  The premium system I had froze up very very rarely.  This is the only game I've been addicted to since I bought the Elite system a few weeks ago, so have yet to try another game on it.

    5.  I have not sent it out for repair.  And I sure as hell better not have to do so or be liable to pay for anything.  I'll simply take it back to the store and exchange it if it seems to be getting worse!!  Or if it's really bad I'll get rid of it and get a PS3... even though it doesn't have Forza and I love my 360!

It's completely illogical that anyone would truly be, what, blind? That a game can push the hardware too hard. It's such a simple concept, game pushes 360 too hard and demands for too much, 360 crashes. It's not like this was originally developed for PS3, and then dumbed down to 360...
It was developed and released only on 360 so there's basically no excuse that some instance of this wasn't caught before shipping.

There's no way at all they can tell us after playing the game as long as they have, they haven't encountered one freeze or 3 red lights? I don't believe it.

And for the people saying "the hardware is too weak/can't handle it", then the game should have been designed with that "weakness" in mind.

I made another thing telling more about it but thought i'd post here too. My forza wont work for more than 2 minutes before it'll freeze, I'm on my 3rd disk so i'm sure i've ruled out a bad disk, but i got a known working disk coming on sunday to give that a final test. It hasnt hurt any of my other games/system that im aware of. I just want to play this game and if i can avoid sening it off i'd love to but i'll do w/e to get it fixed, got it straigh from microsoft as part of the expertzone, if that has anything to do with it.

Re: Fill this Form out if your 360 froze or died after playing Forza 2

    here we go:

    1,    Milton Keynes, UK

2a,   This one 3 days, prior to that first one for 6 months, 2nd for 8 months

2b,   Premium consoles (all of them) that latest one has manufacture date of 21-01-06

3,    My 2nd 360 was not showing all the cars picture when entering the garage, sometimes freezing but sometimes letting me select the car but with long loading times. This would also to extend to the circuit maps going missing prior to entering a race. This lead to the red ring of death. Now got a brand new 360, fine for 1 day of playing but now cars are missing again, map backgrounds are going missing, and this time I'm not able to race at all. When going to start race the loading screen kicks in and then freezes the 360.

4,   No issues with any other games or forza demo

5,   Here in the UK Game offer an exchange on faulty hardware within the first 12 months, so have not had to pay or even send the console off for repair. I think the store manager os getting a bit upset now though. Or he will be when I take back console number 3.

Well, just remember to be thankful for such great customer and product support in the UK...

In the US, one of the most popular game stores offers a 7... yes, 7.... DAY exchange on faulty hardware.
If your console breaks after 7 days? You're screwed, and cant return or exchange it, even with a receipt.
