Although I think T10 should have put in say some wagons (or estates if you prefer) in the game instead of SUV's I'm still quite happy that they're coming. If they suck, I don't have to use them, unless there's a few career races that require them. 

I'd never buy an SUV in reality, but in Forzaland I'd definitely give a few a go.  I wonder how a V10 TDi Touareg would handle the corkscrew at Laguna, or those 180* switchbacks on King Cobra.  I just hope there's a few, slightly more pedestrian SUVs too.  I'd love to build a(n )RDX, FX45, RX330h or whatever to compete with Cayennes and Supercharged Range Rovers.

Simple...Because this is a racing sim per se.  With that in mind you don't see SUV's racing on any circuit in any series anywhere.  They have been pit cars, track tourist transports, used to show multiple students the line all at one time. But never to race.  Yes the Cayenne is quick and handles well, as does the X5 and a few others but have you ever seen one racing?  Have you ever seen one on an open track day racing?  Nope.  Not allowed...Thats why they don't belong in THIS game.  I would expect SUV in need for speed or whatever but not in Forza.  I hope they are not getting watered down to please more  peoples fun factor.  I would venture to say a majority of Forza fans, drivers, & gamers love this game for it's dedication to sports cars and racing.  With SUV's soon they will be putting dirt tracks in with stadium trucks and tracks.  Forza would go from  to   in MY book.  But everyone has their own likes and dislikes. I love forza for its purity to the sports car world. 

You mean to tell me that if FM3 added things to attract outside of the community then you would give it a ? The game will still be full of content for original fans as well as new-comers. I think its great that T10 is trying to invite everyone into this type of gaming. This means more competition, game types, content, possibly more titles. And if you do give fm3 a , then what will you turn to? GT? or did you give them a when they gave out a Model T that had a top speed of 19mph...

I remember in the first Gran Turismo they had a station wagon racing series and I was like "Really? Do I have to?" but it was really fun! Also, there was a game on the Dreamcast called "4X4 Evolution" with pickup trucks and SUVs and THAT was really fun too!

 Then came SUVs in PGR2 and I loved them! With Forza's physics and the high center of mass, these should make for some very fun races. I can't wait to see all the paintjobs on the "large canvases" either. I guarantee you that online racing with a lobby full of SUVs is going to be laugh out loud fun!

Oh, by the way; if you couldn't tell - I'm pro SUVs being in the game.

i just had a thought reading this.  Forza 3 is a highly realistic simulation racing game....but what people seem to be forgetting is that Forza 3 is a GAME and therefore allows Turn 10 to design as much sim or fantasy as they wish in the game. From what we all can see they are sticking to the sim aspect of the genre but still are allowing some fun fantasy aspects to find its way in the game. examples include fantasy tracks, SUV's, and the ability to heavily upgrade and race cars that are not really designed to be raced(ex: honda civics, pt cruiser, the new dodge charger, etc). If you want true sim the then you need true cars that were designed to be raced or achieve top speed, which would take away a lot of the cars that will be in this game.  do u really want that?..........didn't think so.

oh and to put in perspective the potential of SUV's....look at the pt cruiser we can already race in forza 2. Its a vehicle that is not really a car, yet not really an SUV but if u slap in an engine swop and some other upgrades u have a sleeper speed car that can run really good laps. My buddy had one that ran in the 2:13's on sebring in B class which is really good for a non muscle car.  Likewise the Pt bruiser could also be made into a real competitive online B class handeling car so I expect that with some massive weight reduction, these SUVs should fair pretty well in online lobbies(though i doubt they would be able to keep up with leaderboard cars...but who drives those anyways?? it takes all the fun out of racing online)

i rest my case =]  would anybody with a mature argument like to contest what i said? 

 

Good luck in finding a "mature Argument" Unfortunately this is a touchy subject on both sides of the fence... no matter how much we try to paint the picture that SUV's are a good thing... we get comments like the one above... "P.S. SUV's suck"

I don't mind that some people are not happy about this addition, but please before you try and flam, at least have a good argument. No ignorance needed.

ohh and i wudnt b surprised if the new camaro did not  make it in the game because it was just released..literally speaking.  there may be a camaro concept or something along those lines if the camaro is not in 

if its not in, expect it to be in DLC. u can pretty much say the new camaro will be in the game just becuase of its high popularity and awesome statistics. not to mention it is sexy as hell....ahh i was drooling when i saw a black ss in a parking garage 2 days ago.

Are you getting the same vibe of what happened to the fascination of the the GT40 on the speedway, which then became one of the most hated cars and track in the game, for most users lol

I'm new here but i thought i'd chime in.   I think SUV's are a good idea. but it makes me wonder what awesome car will get booted for  a range rover.  I will be ticked off to all hell if we have SUVS but no 2010 camaro for instance or a new mustang. i love suvs but I could think of some pretty awesome cars they could add  before suvs as im sure many of you could.

I was just about to goto bed finally, when I noticed that pic a couple of posts up. Now I am afraid to close my eyes incase it haunts me.
