*PLEASE READ - To avoid losing money in the auction house.

I've finished investigating complaints about people losing money in the auction house and found a problem that can result in loss of credits.  We will be patching in a fix server side and later client side to address this problem, but until then here's how you can avoid losing your hard earned credits.

    1) Don't bid again immediately if you receive a failed transaction after bidding.  Technically, the transaction might have not failed and if you bid again, you might be outbidding yourself and therein lies the problem, we only retreive your last auction bid payment to return to you, and you technically would have two outstanding bids on the same item.

    2) After a failed bid transaction, wait a short bit and check to see if your transaction did indeed go through, you'd be listed as the high bidder if the transaction actually succeeded.  You might want to re-search for the item you just bid on to ensure the data is refreshed and current; or back out of the auction house and re-enter and check your MyBids tab for the item and it's highbidder status.

In addition, Che will be resonding to this and other issues in his report later today.  We're very sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Note: This does not include lost cars in the auction house, only money.  I'm still investigating these reports.

Thanks for the update  Mr BadFrog, but I got 2 questions

1)The report Che is giving where will it be posted

2)Will we get our money/cars back?

    Thanks for your time :)

    1) Probably pitpass.
    2) I dont think they have the power to give you money to compensate.

Re: *PLEASE READ - To avoid losing money in the auction house.

I encountered a bug with gifting a car. I gifted a Skyline R34 Nur to a friend (so he could look at it and send it right back like we had done countless other cars)........... and he never got it....... I was chatting with him at the time of gifting. It worked fine with 6 or so other cars we swapped back and forth just before the incident.... but my poor Skyline was never seen again...... which really makes me mad after I spent over 100G's, and 5-hours, on upgrading/tuning (made it to A-850 P.I.) and painting the car (had a 3-hour decal job on it).....

This problem had beter be fixed as I don't want to risk losing any more cars because of some stupid server glitch....

Re: *PLEASE READ - To avoid losing money in the auction house.

Really, this doesn't help anybody.  I've (only) lost $60k, but that guy with the Skyline got totally hosed.  With problems like this, why can't we just get decent sale prices on reward cars in-game?  100CR for an S class reward car is an insult, and the flooding of the auction house means not only do sellers waste their listing fees for little or no return, but buyers can pick up incredibly powerful cars for tiny fractions of their value.  I know because I bought an S class muscle car worth over $180k for $33k.  I also picked up a Lotus Exige for a few thousand less than it would have cost even after my 40% discount, and it was heavily modified as well.

These are pretty serious balance issues and make reward cars more of a hassle than anything else.

Re: *PLEASE READ - To avoid losing money in the auction house.

i don't think my "transaction failed" nor did i bid more than once, and yet, i lost all my money, and did not get the car!  and it was about 70k, i'm not far enough in the game for this to be small change if you know what i mean.  pretty disappointing.  so, we're thinkin i'm not gettin it back?

    Keep it clean

Re: *PLEASE READ - To avoid losing money in the auction house.

I just paid $650,000 on a buyout for a McLaren f1 GT, my money was subtracted from my account but no car. That is half the money I had. I am just steaming mad right now. It’s been over an hour now and nothing shows up. I never bid twice, I never bid against myself, I followed the instructions and I got screwed big time. I have a number of friends who race the McLaren online exclusively. I was to join them but not anymore. I’m hours and hours away from unlocking it myself and now I feel like just putting the game back in its case and going back to Gears of War. I spent 130 real dollars for the racing wheel and another $60.00 for the game and then this. I better end this now before I say something I regret.

Re: *PLEASE READ - To avoid losing money in the auction house.

I went on an auction frenzy yesterday and kept getting that transaction failed error. I'd re-bid, and re-bid, and re-bid ... this was especially prevalent in the last two minutes of any auction. I think they revert to two minutes remaining after every bid. I wasn't even watching the credits, but I lost a couple hundred thousand. I've also spent money on the "buy it now" option and gotten hosed. The credits were deducted but the car never showed. Altogether now I've lost upwards of 300k in the auction house, but I'll still bid because I've gotten some good deals on cars I wanted.

Re: *PLEASE READ - To avoid losing money in the auction house.

I had pretty good luck in the Auction House last week on bidding and also using hte buyout feature.  Ofcourse over the weekend I lost many of auctions in a bid war but that was fun.  Last night was the first time I got hosed on an auction.  Went to grab the 350z from the FnF movie and tried to use the buyout feature.  Well it took my 80,000 credits but I never recieved the car.   From reading the forums I guess I'm not alone in this happening to folks.  Just sucks since that took most of the credits I had earned in SP up to that point.

Re: *PLEASE READ - To avoid losing money in the auction house.

One thing, yesterday I was looking for a NSX on auction, and found one for buyout price 85k, so I though nice, I`ll buy that. I spent my money on it but never recieved the car :(

    I lost 85k and no car... :\

Is there some kind of scam people are using or what ?!

Don't feel secure thinking if you follow these directions that your money is safe.

    Medic:
Ridiculus.  First off, I followed the "sticky" directions and didn't shotgun a second bid after I was outbid.  Everything was going fine until the auction started winding down.  All of the sudden I couldn't raise the bid (even though I had 3-400K left).  I tried to get my CR back but all I received was "Transaction failed, please try again" over and over.  The auction stayed at 1 minute left for almost 10 minutes before it finally disappeared.  I tried feverishly to get my money back with the same error message.  It is no longer anywhere to be found for me to resolve the auction.

Give me my credits back or gift me an Exige Espionage!  I don't want pity, or a response saying we're looking into a patch, just the car or my credits.

That happened to me as well on Sunday.  Went back and forth with a guy over a car for like 10 minutes and finally I let him have it and I just stopped bidding.  Couldn't get my money back from the auction after it was complete.  I went back on yesterday (Monday) and was able to get my cash back.  I've also found if you get a message stating the transaction failed to close Forza all the way down to the x360 dashboard and reload and it works from there (at least for me).

Unfortunatly this really doesnt because they already lost their money, it only tells them why, nothing more. And I would love to see that they figured out how to give the money that others have lost back. I miss my $826,000 bank account. Now I only have 331,000.Crying [:'(]Please give our money back.Crying [:'(]
