    Any volunteer test drivers?

    Hey guys,

I am looking for a good driver to test a car for me that I think is great.  It's an A Class Dodge Stealth.  And as much as I suck at driving, I managed to run this one at Mugello Short in 57.4xx, which is 4800'ish on the leaderboard.  I know it's not great, but for me to put that car in that spot with my bad driving (Automatic Transmission even), I feel like a better driver could really do some damage with it. It's my favorite car in the game and I spent alot of time tuning, so if anyone is interested enough to give this a go and see what they cando let me know, I'll set one up and send it to you.

    Thanks

    Re: Any volunteer test drivers?

I sent out Friend Requests to you guys, once you accept them I will gift the car to you.  Please check it out and let me know if it compares well to your other A classers.  It does well for me on tracks like Mugello Short, Maple Valley, and mid length tracks.

    Re: Any volunteer test drivers?

That's awesome Don.  I knew the Stealth was more capable with a good driver as opposed to me.   My Mugello Short  time was 57.4xx   so I am happy to see that it can be better.  I will send you mine after work this evening if you could compare it to yours.

    Thanks Guys.

i'd give it a go on King Cobra for you if you like, i am in the top 150 on that track in A class, i love the way the stealth sounds, as long as it has the race exhaust on it :P

    Re: Any volunteer test drivers?

is mastersmite your GT?  I'll get one to you this evening.

Also if any of you that I gifted the cars to already have tested them and don't want to keep them, please send it back so I can send them back to other testers.  If you actually want it that's fine, if not, just send it back.

    Thanks guys.

I'll be happy to put your car through its paces, and give you some feedback on it.

The Stealth I use I built from this thread: http://forums.forzamotorsport.net/forums/thread/1517867.aspx - originally posted by mastersmite.

If you scroll down a bit in that thread (it's not too long), I posted the "tweaks" I made to his setup, along with times on various tracks. Note that the scoreboard position numbers I posted there were current back in early May - they've dropped down a fair bit since then.

    Heya alpizzle...

I played with your Stealth for a bit. It certainly has a faster top-end than mine.

Best I could do with it around Mugello Short was 56.721. This might be due to the fact that my driving style favors handling over speed, and if I ran another couple-hundred laps with it (I only ran about 40), I could probably shave that a little bit. But, to me anyway, the car frequently felt like it was floating above the track... had a lot of trouble keeping it on the track, and found it very tough to get smooth on the turn combinations.

I pulled out my version of the Stealth again, and after just a couple laps managed a 55.741 (which is 0.132 off of my previous best). That 1-second difference is not really huge, and the two cars could still be competitive against each other.

However, with my "handling" Stealth, I can fairly consistently run under 56.500, whereas with your "speed" Stealth, I could only break 57 on every 4th or 5th lap - mainly because I was usually off in the grass. Again, that may be due in large part to my driving style, and I expect I could become a bit more consistent with it after time.

And, as one might guess, your version would likely beat mine on the more speed-biased tracks.

I'll send your car back to you --- I made a copy of your build, so if you tweak the setup and want additional feedback, you can just let me know what to change.

    Re: Any volunteer test drivers?

Thanks alot for the great feedback Don.  You already ran my car faster than I could.  My best time in the Stealth was 57.4xx .  So as I expected it is capable of better times with good drivers like yourself.

Do you still use the setup that was in the thread you linked here?  if so I will build one and try your tune out and see if I can do better with your handling version.  Even though with the way I drive I rarely lose control of the stealth, but I guess there are times when it could be a little smoother in turns.

    Thanks again man.
