WINNERS WEEK 35 Race Livery/Replica Paint Competition

Jizzy, how nice of you to announce winners and lock the thread. Well I have a comment and I will do it here...

Why is it that anytime there is AG painter in the comp you "end up being a judge"? Is it so you can make sure the painter does not win?

Is it too hard for you to have an unbiased opinion? You are a sad individual....

In Jizzy's defense, the winners are exactly what I would have picked. CarbonR did have a good late entry. I was kept busy thru out the day & did not make it back in time for the judging & I apoligize.

I don't  keep track of who or which teams has won past comps but sounds a bit harsh to accuse someone of being biased towards other teams. I have seen no favoritism & have been keeping an eye on the comps way before I started entering them. I would chalk it up to coincidence than favoritism to one team.

Re: WINNERS WEEK 35 Race Livery/Replica Paint Competition

Yes i do lock the thread every week for the winners so that they travel out of page 1.

I was a judge yes but not in the way everyone thinks.  If a judge doesn't send me his choices by the timeframe, then i take all those who enter, place them in a hat and draw randomly.  This week was no differnt.  I got a couple people sent me messages about fantasy and race liverys and that i should disqualify fantasy based liverys in the race livery section.  Something of which i'm not going to do because most of the fantasy based liverys i get are very well race oriented.  I did send Carbon R a PM stating that since i got these PMs that i wanted to let him know that wasn't the reason he wasn't picked.  I did fail to mention at first that everything is random.  If judges don't show up I think everyone deserves a chance to win.  There have been plenty of AG guys that have won the competition and its not a biased deal.  Bigbluesd and Davbat have won this competitions more times then i can count.  I have done this hat thing on a couple different occasions when there was no one around to judge and i usually have my roomate or girlfriend depending on who's around pick out someone of all the people who enter.  Unfortunately, i can't control who is online, and who is not, and whether judges judge.  I made it as fair as i could with the time frame i'm alotted.  I also had to work yesterday at 6 when i'm trying to get the submissions and threads done between 5:30 and still get to work by 6.

So drizze hope this helps out, I'm certainly not the biased one as i choose from everyone who enters.  AG guys like Bigbluesd and Davbat have won this contest ALOT, so there is no discrimination.  I know CarbonR is up in arms about it, but i sent him the message out of mutual "painter" respect to let him know about the PM's i recieved, and i noticed i did fail to mention about the random drawing. Hopefully he enters again and gets picked by another judge. But I have left my choices out of the chosing do to problems i've had in the past with people not liking my picks.

    Thanks

Re: WINNERS WEEK 35 Race Livery/Replica Paint Competition

Well thats true, He did submit it late, but i recived the other 2 judges votes after he submitted from the submission times i checked so he was in the running.  I just recived another email just yesterday, constituting what is Race about a car if it has no Number on it.  I'd have to say thats correct. But some cars like Tomassi's Carbon Nissan 350 he did din't have number but if i'm right it was a replica.  I'm not going to change any rules or anything, as a number could be added to Carbon's EvoX and it would look alot more Race, but i think it looks fine the way it is.

BTW CarbonRs submission is the one that Drizze is mentioning.  he did a very good job, but the other two judges didn't pick him and i have them send me 3 choices and i take them in order 1-2-3 incase they pick the same one and the order i recieve the PMs.  Hopefully, we don't start somekind of flamewar in here now, as we have enough of that in the TM atm... Probably could have been handled in PMs but hopefully this clears it up.

why dont turn10 pick the winners?it would only take them 5 minutes every friday to have a look and decide on three, would save any arguments like this happening.

yeah i know i neglected to mention it when i sent him the original PM because i was in a hurry, i had to get to work at 6.  But its beside the point. JDM has already stated that the pick was what he would have picked anyway Drizze, so why keep continuing this?  you don't need to turn this into a flamewar like what happens in the TM. We havne't had any problems over here and hopefully it can stay that way.  I understand your concern and i've addressed the problem.  Hopefully everything is now taken care of and understood.

    Jizzy Shizno:

+ infinity!!! I don't want to see any kind of flamewar here and also people that have some troubles with someone they usually handle the problems trough PMs. We painters have a LOT of respect for everyone else painter and even if (IMO) there is someone's behaviour that it's not proper of respect, personally I stay away from giving comments about his stuff etc.

As for the picking, I really don't think that there is an "anti-AG painters" conspiracy as many AG painters won the comp (Bigbluesd, Runin0nEmpty and dunkee have their own gallery in the Winner's Galleries) and sometimes it happen that some good liveries don't win, but it's all up to the judges. Talking about me, my Porsche GT3 was picked only the second time that I entered this car in the comp. If you really think that the design is an A class design, IMO you just have to put it in the comp another time and maybe it'll be picked the next week.

I hope you'll understand what I'm trying to explain Andre. And it's not the first time that there is this kind of random drawing for the winners also because there are no more backup judges in the comp and the comp need 3 winners.

Best regards Andre. And again, please don't think about any kind of conspiracy against AG's painters because that's not true. Trust me.

Re: WINNERS WEEK 35 Race Livery/Replica Paint Competition

what i dont get is you told Mike

i had to pick someone to win this week and didn't pick yours because it may have caused a controversy because the car is mostly Fantasy and not a replica.

What gives you the right to decide if a car is a fantasy or replica?

    here is Mike's car :

if you think it's too fantasy then why was this submission allowed

I'm not sure if it is an actual replica, but Mike's car still has more race elements on his car.

*this is not trying undermine Oglunoc's work.  I'm just trying to make a point.  I think the car is actually pretty cool*

If Mike didnt' win then that's fine.  What just bugs me is the fact that he was disqualified.  and for what  because you have  been getting static from us for something that you admit was wrong to do. (the lighthorse cash-in).  A lot of people know you and Mike have bad history with each other, but please don't use that.  It seems like over the past you have been trying to take stabs at him ever since, though you have been very subtle in doing so.

    @RC it's not a conspiracy against AG's painter's, it's just an issue between 2 people.

Well, reading this sentence it doesn't seems to be a only 2 people's issue... However I repeat that we don't need flamewar here and I think that both Jizzy and CarbonR are mature enough to solve this thing via PMs.

Re: WINNERS WEEK 35 Race Livery/Replica Paint Competition

Personally, I thought all the cars submitted this week looked great in their own way.  This was definitely a tough week.  I could have picked (10) paints and somebody would have been screwed over.  People need to understand that only (3) paints are going to win.  It all comes down to the tastes of the judges.  Judging is not easy.  I have had to do it twice.  To be honest, it sux when you see 5 paints that you really love and you can only vote for one.  You would have had to already been a former judge in order to understand exactly what it is like.  It is nowhere near as easy as you would think.

Re: WINNERS WEEK 35 Race Livery/Replica Paint Competition

Last ime I checked, this is the Replica Race Livery/"Original" Race Livery section...

    Jizzy:
i had to pick someone to win this week and didn't pick yours because it may have caused a controversy because the car is mostly Fantasy and not a replica.

How is the "Mr. Horsepower" car a replica? I have never seen that car before. It has a "cartoon" character on it and Mike's has "anime"

Seriously, what is the difference?  There isn't...

You should be replaced as coordinator of this contest. You have proven over and over again how you are biased. This contest needs a coordinator that is unbiased and that person is not you.

I dont think Carbon has to win any competitions....even if he doesnt win.his work speaks for itself, and Im sure the sales that yall make tomorrow will speak also.

As far as the fantasy thing.....I thought this was a livery/replica comp. Which means it can be either a replica or a livery....Im pretty sure fantasy is still a livery.

I agree. Just enter it next week Depthcore..

I wouldn't say full on Fantasy would go here. It does say Race before Livery/Replica.
