The game doesn't work offline after a console repair if you have DLC.

Contact Xbox Support, and if the first person doesn't help you politely ask to speak with a supervisor.

Re: Why can't I play this game anymore offline?
why are you all blaming Turn 10? We all know that its M$ n not Turn 10's fault, because if you havnt noticed if you get a replacment console then you cannot play arcade games you bought offline either or any DLC for that matter.

Re: Why can't I play this game anymore offline?
Interesting point. I have Oblivion but it's the game of the year edition that has Shivering Isles and Knights included (though I did buy a few of the "other expansions). So in essence, let's say I don't want LIVE anymore but want to continue to play Oblivion with the expansions I bought. You are saying that they WILL NOT WORK because they cannot be "validated" due to me not wanting to pay for LIVE anymore. Wow. I never realized that.
And if this is true with Forza (as it seems that it is with so many people having this problem), then this should have been fixed a hell of a long time ago. Shame on Turn for not seeing this and not doing something about this earlier what with all of the 360 issues that are happening!!!

Re: Why can't I play this game anymore offline?
Ditto. I have the problem also every since I bought a new Xbox and migrated to it. I have to connect to Live, start the game and then disconnect the network cable if I want to practice Forza off line.
I feel like I have been shafted. I BOUGHT the DLC, I didn't rent it for a monthly xbox live price.
I can't even load my game save and use the cars and tracks that came on the disc unless I am on line.
I don't know who needs to fix it but when you load the disc it shows the T10 and "Microsoft Game Studios" logos back to back.
Please be patient in the first turn

Re: Why can't I play this game anymore offline?
Yep,
I have this problem also, I have downloaded all of the DLC, originally Motegi, until my 360 got fried! (only 6 months old) shop replaced with Arcade version, when I plugged my hard drive into the new console no Motegi unless I am online!!!!!!!!
All the rest of the DLC (bought after getting the replacement console) such as car packs and Road America work fine on and off line!!!!!!
I am not a happy bunny, Microsoft please sort this out and to all of those telling people to call Xbox Support, surely if they had resolved the issues for individuals that had called there would be replies on this post confirming so, I am not going to even bother ringing the support team as no one in this thread has an answer (no disrespect to anybody posting, it just shows Microsoft/Turn 10's lack of interest in the problem.)
I paid for the content, therefore I should be able to use it on or off line regardless of whether I have had to have a FAULTY 360 replaced!!!!
Thanks for listening!

Re: Why can't I play this game anymore offline?
Try un-plugging you Ethernet Cable and turning your X360 on. You should still be able to sign-in but a message will come up saying, " Unable to connect to XBL. Test connection?" Select "OK" not "Test connection". You should still be able to play with your XBL account but not be connected to XBL.
Hope this works for you.
GOOD LUCK

Doesn't work like that ^ Anyway, you agreed to the content Digital Rights Management when you signed up to Xbox Live, so Microsoft don't have to do anything about it.

Re: Why can't I play this game anymore offline?
It doesn't work like that TKR. Once you've migrated to another box or hard drive you can't sign it to Forza in anyway. You can't even play arcade off the disk without an internet connection AND an xbox live account.
If you are still using the original machine that you first installed forza to, then you can still play off line with internet
Please be patient in the first turn

Re: Why can't I play this game anymore offline?
This is another example of over-engineering DRM schemes. There's a balance between ease of use and security. Microsoft, being a software company primarily, tends to throw down on the security side. IMO their experience with hardware is lacking, and this is an example of it. The hardware wasn't designed properly for heat management, necesitating frequent servicing. The hardware has too many 'transfer restrictions' for the type of content it purportedly supports. They should have a procedure in place for migrating all content upon servicing. Another thing is, good odds are the consoles don't go to Microsoft for servicing, but a subcontractor. The way of the world nowadays. If they outsource their call center, they probably outsource their repairs. One more layer of 'f-up potential' in the chain.

Stuff the canned response bud. There's nothing they can do to help you or anyone else... And here's why... This is exactly what they're going to tell you to do (and I have too on several occations, trying to help)... THIS DOESN'T WORK!!!!
I've just done this exact same thing 5 TIMES!!! Am I playing offline now? NO!Can I play XBL Arcade games? NO!... Hmm. So now: Is there any chance we can get a response from T10 now as to how this problem can be rectified? Or should I just bend over for M$... AGAIN!

Re: Why can't I play this game anymore offline?
Turn 10 is not responsible for what's going on with your console. Turn 10 is a Microsoft Games Studio entity and designed Forza Motorsport 2. Period. You need to contact Xbox Support as I said earlier. If the first person doesn't help you, respectfully ask to speak with a supervisor until you reach someone who can help you.

Whether or not it is Turn 10's responsibility to fix the issue is irrelevant. This whole forum is dedicated to troubleshooting Forza Motorsport 2 on the Xbox360, whether the issue is the game's fault or not. Blindly copy/pasting the same canned response is neither helpful, nor constructive and does not help TROUBLESHOOT the problem. If you have nothing helpful to say, or you feel the need to deflect blame, go somewhere else. I am blaming no one. I am merely looking for some insight as to why this problem occurs and how to go about fixing it. I have spoken to customer service, and the reps supervisor and they didn't help either, and give the same canned response as I have posted above.
After searching the internet for answers I believe I've found one:
Apparently, if your console was replaced, as opposed to repaired, the re-licensing (delete and re-download the content) may take up to 30 days to take effect. If after 30 days you still cannot access the game off-line, then calling Xbox customer support for an explanation would be called for.
Thanks for nothing...

That's just stupid, what the hell lol.. Whoever thought it would be a good idea to prevent you from playing the game unless you have a connection to the internet is a moron.

Re: Why can't I play this game anymore offline?
Only encountered this problem yesterday during the downtime. My original game had been wiped out by a dodgy xbox, so I've re-done it on another and re-downloaded the tracks and cars but like you all, I can now no longer play offline on my profile. It's no good Turn 10 wiping their hands of this and turning a blind eye as it obviously affects Forza more than any other game.
Xbox support is a total waste of time and to come on the official Forza website and find the problem being totally ignored is absolutely astonishing. At least give your paying customers some credence Turn 10 by giving us a technical answer, which you'll be amazed to hear, some of us mere peasants may actually understand

While your advice is good snowowl, its pointless to say the same thing over and over again. Do you work for Microsoft? Since you know this will apparently fix the issue, why not let us know what steps they told you to take? Did they do something to fix it on their side? If so, say that instead of blindly say "call em". Did they tell you do to something on your console? If so, what did they tell you do to. Be apart of the community and help people. If I'm looking for something at the grocery store and people just tell me "its over that way", they are correct, but are hardly helping.
To summarize: help or shut up. You've said it once. There is no need to repeat it.

Re: The game doesn't work offline after a console repair if you have DLC.
After a year of use I finally got a chance to see what the 3 red rings look like today. I guess I'll find out what happens to my DLC and pre-order bonus car when I get the replacement box.
