I had expected the Dallas News Services of the Associated Press to pick up on the win by the local drivers.

Here's this weeks update,  We've got to hire a better announcer.

Great job again Burritos.  I am really kinda scared about this weekend.  My goal for the past 2 years has been to be able to race in D1.  I have not been able to do this, mostly because of missing races, but now is my chance to reach that goal.  The standing in D2 are very tight, and with only one person moving up, it will be a very intense race.

    Re: Week 7 results

    Burrito,
Thanks for the recap and more important thank you for your time and effort in doing the job you do.

As we have lost a couple of the guys recently we now have a total of 17 racers in the tournament, still a decent number, especially when you consider that many of the tournaments you see posted under tournaments dont even get off the ground or die within a short space of time.
This tournament has been going in one shape or form now for 4 seasons and this all started back just after the release of Forza 2,so I`m very happy with how things have gone for the most part.

Due to the number of guys still racing, I feel that the final week of promotion and relegation will need refining to account for the numbers,so with this in mind the following will apply after this weeks race at Road Atlanta.

    Division 1
There will be no relegation from this division.

    Division 2
There will be 1 person promoted to division 1,there will be no relegation.

    Division 3
There will be 1 person promoted to division 2.
In the event of  16 drivers taking part after Road Atlanta then then all remaing division 3 drivers will be incorporated into division 2,this would mean 8 drivers in division 1 and 8 in division 2.
This is only in the event of 16 drivers in the tournament.

Thank you to everyone who has stuck throught this and supported the tournament,I appreciate everyone of you.

    Thanks all
    Bismark

    Re: Week 7 results

i have an idea, just flitted through my head so i thought i'd post it. what if we did something along the lines of team racing. say, the 3 points leaders from this season that continue next season are team captains, and there is a draft from the pool of registered drivers next season to determine teams.

I remember discussing this very format with Silverfox a while back,I`m thinking it was during the 3rd season, fox may be able to elaborate more.
I like the idea, hence thats why we discussed it and it is good food for thought.
I like your idea of having the points leaders as captains and having a draft.
This was an area were I was a little baffled because I was thinking how do we implement a team that makes for competitive racing.
For example,Imagine Devils Doing,Jalobo,Bodyrollin and Beandaddy on one team.
It would hardly be fair as the rest of us would get smoked.
If you have a person lets say picking someone then you can imagine that person would go for the person he feels will be fastest.
Having said all this I do like the idea and if we could come up with balanced teams then it would be nothing short of mindblowing.
Thanks for the imput Noobish, lets see what the comunity thinks on this one.

    Re: Week 7 results

Not that I should have any input, but...  How about, when you make the team selections (assigned by Bismark, to ensure fairness) Top 3 drivers, in points.  Next designation bottom drivers in points assigned to the teams.  Top driver gets lowest ranked driver.  Second driver gets second lowest in points. Etc, Etc.  Now when it all lays out, the worst drivers sometimes, like myself, really can't drive as well, but with the help of some team mates, instruction or car tuning, in the end can be a relatively help make up a good team.

    Re: Week 7 results

I like the idea of doing the team thing.  I also like Burrito's idea of having the teams set by final pt. placement.  One of the cool things the team racing should do is the faster drivers will work a little more closely with some of the slower drivers helping them get cars and setups together.

We will need to look into the number of teams we will have.  We always have new guys that want to join the league and we always lose some guys.  Do we want to open the league back up again to new drivers and have 3 teams, and possible lose driver over the season?  Or do we lock it down to 2 teams and stick with the proven drivers that have been there in the past and will be there for the whole season?

    Just some of my thoughts.

We also need to make sure that Silver is included in the upcoming season if we do the team thing.

    Re: Week 7 results

TBH, i like the idea of 3 teams better than 2, and 4 teams better than 3. more teams, the more dynamic the competition. also, the more teams we have, the more we can split the talent pool up and help guard against a "super team". i also like the captian/draft idea more than assigning teams, though i'd probably go last round due to my points total, even though i've placed 2nd or 3rd in every race i've driven in.

as for locking down the rosters, i think that would be bad. we always want to encourage new people. losing a driver, IMHO, is a risk you'd just have to take. the same as losing a professional player to injury or the raiders and randy moss (is anybody else still pissed at r.moss at how he obviously laid down for oakland and refused to play to his potential?).

also, with a team atmosphere, i think we'd have less drivers dropping or not showing. it's one thing when it's just you and you're way behind in points, but when you have teammates depending on your performance, it's a totally different story. plus we lost what, 4 drivers due to an issue getting blown way out of porportion. 4 i can think of and i might be missing someone.

    Sniff...   Sniff

I had to join the Air Force...   No one would draft me.  It was very emotional, I've never gotten over it.  I now rely on my devish good looks and razor sharp wit.

Oh Oh, come to find out that ain't workin either.

the razor sharp wit i do miss on the track though dude. kinda wish you'd come back and race some more.

Well I have a Face for Radio, and a Voice for Newpaper, but I couldn't spell with out a thesorus, I mean thisorus, oh hell, without spellcheck!  But I pronmised not to go on the air.  So they gave me a shot in the Admin department.  Every now and the I voice a commercial or two,  there is always a spot for a simpleton or the village idiot.  I am waiting for a spot for that driver who has had a wreck and he needs to contact the local ambulance chaser.  I have the wrecked driver part down.
