Silver, You do a wonderful job. Do you think we could get a overall standing with our low race dropped.

2 posts prior to yours details when I will.  Very close looking at it that way, just points seperating 3 drivers.  The lock down is looming.

Great wins Miguel, Bismark, and Devils.  Congrats to all.

Father and son in the winners circle on the same weekend.  I'm sure Dallas will never be the same.

Silver, just wanted to say thank you again for taking the time out of your schedule to do the times for us.  I don't care what the other drivers think of you, your a pretty good guy.

Bismark, just wondering what is going on next week with relegations and promotions.  With some of the drivers not showing up on a regular basis and getting close to having only having 16 drivers, are you thinking at all about dropping down to just two divisions for the final 3 weeks?

What, doesn't everyone just think I am the most wonderful thing since sliced bread?  If not, f'em

As I have said, Fox Motorsports will be back, the owner is very competitive and will not be able to stay away for ever.

I still have issues with Racer, something about cocktail winnies.  And that picture of him on the scooter, I can't shake the image.

As for you Mr. Callaway, I have had sliced bread and it is a delicious treat.

ya know, "silver fox" sounded familiar to me and it kept itching at me as to why.. last night i finally connected the dots.. David Pearson.. one of NASCAR's legends, second only to The King himself.... fitting name i'd say...

David Gene Pearson (born December 22, 1934 in Spartanburg, South Carolina) is a former American NASCAR racecar champion.

Known as the "Silver Fox", he debuted on the Grand National racing circuit in 1960 and earned Rookie of the Year honors that same season. He went on to win the NASCAR Championship in 1966, 1968 and 1969 (the only three full-time seasons of his career). Pearson ranks as one of the greatest of all NASCAR drivers and his duels with Richard Petty are legendary. Between August 8, 1963 and June 12, 1977, they finished one/two on sixty-three occasions, with Pearson coming out on top with thirty-three victories. Their most famous encounter came at the 1976 Daytona 500 when the two were running bumper-to-bumper on the final lap. They slammed hard against each other's front fender and both hit the wall. Petty's damaged car spun off the track just twenty-five yards from the finish line and the engine quit running and he could not get it to restart. All Petty could do was sit in his famous #43 and watch as Pearson's wrecked #21 limped across the finish line to claim victory. Pearson won the "Most Popular Driver" award in 1979 and 1980. After twenty-six seasons in racing, he retired in 1986. He finished his career in second place behind Richard Petty on NASCAR's all-time win list with 105, and second in all-time pole positions.

Not bad noob, wish I could say that had something to do with the tag, but the orgins of the Silver Fox, come from my naturally dark hair color, and Rommel.  I like this so thank you sir for pointing it out.  News to me.

Back in the early days of NASCAR, believe it or not, the cars were actually stock except for the engines.  I am a huge NASCAR fan and have watch a lot of documentarys on it.  I have seen interviews with former drivers that have said David Person was notorious for in the middle of races reaching over into the glove compartment and pulling out a pack of cigarettes and smoking in the race.  Not just during a caution flag period, but while driving amost 170 MPH.

not only for smoking while racing. he was also notorious for hopping right into the seat without a helmet or fire protection. jeans and his work shirt. cigarette lighter, cigarettes and 4 sticks of chewing and gum taped to the dash were how they prepped his cars.

on another note, most of his championship seasons were the seasons where he actually raced regularly. in the beginning, his team made their own parts, so they weren't able to make alot of the races. had he been able to race as many races as the king on a regular basis, i suspect "The King" and "The Silver Fox" would be one and the same person.
