New Season,The Bismark 400hp Open Championship

Welcome to a new season of endurance racing.
This will be the fourth tournament I have put together, the previous two seasons were based on 330hp while the first season was a C class tornament.
I have many returning drivers who have already perticipated in at least one of these tournaments and they are back because they enjoy the racing and the comunity of people they race and practice with.
I am currently going to accept new applicants who want to take part in this event.
The racing is very competitive and I know those that decide to come on board will enjoy it.
Last seasons tournament had the support of Brandon at Turn 10 who kindly donated 3 Unicorn cars to our winners.

Here are the rules and regulations.
Racing will be run over an eleven week season.
Points will be awarded based on your finishing race position.
All particapants will be placed in a division, returning drivers already have a time rank based on last season, this determines which division they will start the season in.
New drivers to the season will race in a 3 race 10 lap try out to determine their race times.
The try out races will be raced over the same three tracks which will give me a time v time, driver v driver rank.
Last season we had three divisions, depending on the number of new entries, this season, this can change
Once I have filled the tournament with enough people then I will know how many divisions we have.
There will be promotion and relegation for people who finish top two and bottom two in their league.
The best ten race finishes you race in will be used for your total points.
This will allow you to drop your worst place finish within the eleven week season.
Once the race starts there will be no restarts for any collisions, the only exception will be a dropped connection from XBL,this would have to take place within the first 10 laps of a race except for Nurburgring as this race will be 10 laps.

    Cars and race conditions.
All cars for the purpose of this tournament must be 400hp or less.
Full handling upgrades will be allowed.
Collisions will be on,and will be full race simulation.
Starting position on race grid will be random.

The following cars will not be allowed.
All Lotus family except Lotus Esprit.
Opel Speedster and its Vauxhall counterpart.

No nudity or racist remarks will be allowed on your paintwork.
Racing will start at 9pm Central,10pm Eastern.
We do have a current member who is in the UK but I understand its late for these folks,Im sorry about that, but whatever time I start it is never going to be perferct for everyone.

Here are the tracks and the order they will be run in.

    Silverstone Grand Prix                    50laps
    Mugello Short                                 75laps
    Suzuka Circuit                                50laps
    Motegi Speedway                          75laps
    Tsukuba Circuit                              75laps
    Sebring International                       50laps
    Maple Valley Raceway                   50laps
    Road Atlanta                                  50laps
    Road America                                50laps
    Motegi Road Course                      50laps
    Nurburgring                                    10laps

Hopefully I have covered most of the pertaining information that applies to this season.
I have tried to keep this tournament user friendly in the past and it has worked.
If there is something I have missed out,I`m sure some of the current members will bring this to our attention.
So please add your name in this thread if you want in.
You will then be given some time to build your cars and tune, then you will try out.

    My gamertag is RaisetheBismark.

    Thanks all.

Re: New Season,The Bismark 400hp Open Championship

Can't wait for Season 4, thought I'd pull this forward from last season.

    Promotions and Relegations-Season 4

Promotions and relegations could potentially be handled in one of two ways in season 4.  With the number of drivers returning and the likelihood of many more drivers joining in something had to be done.  All would agree that the fastest drivers worked there way through the divisions last season, and found themselves fighting it out come seasons end.  Given that our numbers could grow to 32, 4 divisions, the fast drivers starting in D4 would have to be perfect to make their way to D1 by week 6, and with the divisional lock down occurring after week 8’s promotion/relegation there is little or no room for error.  With that in mind the following will be the format put in place for season 4.  There are 2 scenarios each based on the number of drivers participating at the beginning of the season.

    Scenario 1,

    ·         24 drivers or less.

    ·         Drivers will be divided into 3 divisions.  Veteran drivers will be ranked and assigned divisions based on Season 3’s hot lap rank.  The fastest to D1, second fastest to D2, etc.  The rookies will continue filling in where the veterans left off.  That is to say, if 18 veterans return, than the fastest rookie, based on qualifying times, would fill spot 19, second fastest rookie would fill spot 20, etc.

    ·         Promotions and relegations will occur following weeks 2, 4, 6, and 8.  The 2 drivers with the highest point total would be promoted; the 2 drivers with the lowest point total would be relegated.  Tiebreaker would be the sum of the total race time to that point in the season.

    ·         Points would be awarded as follows, for weeks 1-6 all divisions would race for the same number of points, 10 for the win, 8 for second, 7 for third, 6, 5, 4, 3, and 2 for eighth.  For weeks 7-11, D1 would receive points as follows 12 for the win, 10 for second, 9 for third, 8, 7, 6, 5, and 4 for eighth.  Divisions 2 and 3 would continue to receive points in the same manner as in the previous weeks.

    Scenario2,

    ·         25-32 drivers.

    ·         Drivers will be divided into 4 groups.  Veteran drivers will be ranked and assigned groups based on Season 3’s hot lap rank.  The fastest to G1, second fastest to G2, etc.  The rookies will continue filling in where the veterans left off.  That is to say, if 18 veterans return, than the fastest rookie, based on qualifying times, would fill spot 19, second fastest rookie would fill spot 20, etc.

    ·         Following week 2, the two drivers in each group with the highest point total will be assigned to Division 1, the 2 drivers with the third and fourth highest point total would be assigned to D2, 5th and 6th to D3, 7th and 8th to D4.  Tiebreaker would be the sum of the total race time to that point in the season.

    ·         Promotions and relegations will occur following weeks 4, 6, and 8.

Divisions 2, 3, and 4 would continue to receive points in the same manner as in the previous weeks.

seriously...to any new comers that are reading this thread and thinking maybe...maybe not...just give it a shot...it is seriously some of the most fun i have had on this game...most of the people i race with now came from this series...and i know some of you are probvably thinking "well with no PI restriction, then  there will be no contest if you have a higher PI you will win" no way...there is give or take about a 60 point spread in the PI of most of the cars in this series from lowest to highest, and even if you have the lowest (depending on the track) it is entirely possible to run with, and/or beat, the highest...

and I agree with bodyrollin, this is easily the best tournament out there.  all the racers are clean and respectful, they race hard every week, and are all really awesome people.

As Turkey said we use the "one and done" system of cars. Once you use a car you are not allowed to use that car again. However you may use a different year of the car, for example there are about 5 different NSX's in the game and you can use any of them, you cannot use the same one twice. After each race the results are posted with best lap time for the race, total race time and which car used.

You will notice that during the year there are a couple different people that will post stats based on lap times and race times, however they are not a part of the offical scoreing system. However they can be used as a tie breaker when it comes to promotions and relegations.

    Hey guys,

Thanks for filling in some of the information pertaining to the tournament,I wanted to keep the first post as informative as I could without having to write an esay on the matter.
Please note! based on Beandaddy`s run in the first tryout I have decided to allow the Lotus Esprit.
The car is not dominating such as the Elise,Exige so it will give the folks another car to choose from.

    Thanks all
