Mystery Car in the March DLC Pack

Has anybody else besides me noticed the one car in the trailer that's hidden in shadow for the half of a second that it's shown? I'm not talking about the Porsche 911 GT2, pause the movie at 1:05 and take a look people. I think it's an old school american muscle car from the lines it's got.

Re: The March DLC, any oppinions?

Everyone who wants a FBM... What is the point of bitching at T10?
If I *** at you and insult you about something, are you going to be more likely to do it?
Instead of bitching at T10, why dont you guys write Ford on a daily basis about how much you want that car in the game. Maybe they will just throw it at T10 instead of probably charging them a bunch of money and what not.

Thanks for the DLC guys! More cars to choose from is a good thing, but looks like I will have to wait another few months in hopes of a fox body mustang :(

DLC - Everyone needs to look at this differently.

First off, DLC cars are an act of love for the community and the game.  They aren't making profit on this in the end.  Second off, they simply cannot make everyone happy.  I think everyone needs to take a step back and look at the big picture, and look at it from a developer stand point.

First, I'll start on car models.  Forza is in it's post-release stage.  This means that the development team has moved onto a new project (likely forza 3).  In between work cycles of building the new game they likely work on new DLC content, or finish up content that was scrapped from the release because of time constraints.  Taking this into account I'm sure we can all agree that it's easier to change small features on a car model and re-skin it than make a new model from scratch.  Doing this not only allows the team to release DLC on a shorter schedule, but also allows them to release more content.

Now in regards to car requests/demands from the community.  These guys want to give us everything, but game development scheduling demands otherwise. Sure, the GT series gives us like 1000 cars, but it also takes 4-5 years to develop.  Forza is a better game, takes half the time, and actually has a better line-up of cars.  But there is also another far greater challenge with giving us cars.  The car manufacturers must allow them to make the car.  For example, for many years lamborghini gave exclusive rights to the Need for Speed series. Ever notice how Porsche, Ferrari, and Lamborghini are nowhere to be found in Gran Turimo 1-4?  Sony couldn't come up with an agreement (payment for usage rights) with these manufacturers.

That's not the only problem.  Just because a car company gave you rights to make their cars, doesn't mean you can make whatever ones you want.  Car companies are atleast finally coming around to the viewpoint that having a car in a game helps promote that brand/car.  This wasn't always the case.  Gran Turismo played a very big part in bringing the Mitsubishi Evolution to America.  So the idea that the developers are simply ignoring our pleas and building whatever they want it crazy.

I see lots of people requesting the Fox Body mustang for example.  There's a good chance Ford might not be giving Turn 10 the rights to make that car.  As much as there are people that love the Fox Body Mustang, that car was a bit of a sore spot in the mustang line. Ever wonder why there no Ford Taurus SHO?  Same reason most likely.  Personally I'd love to see an 03/04 Cobra mustang in Forza, or really any game for that matter.  It's not going to happen.  These manufacturers want to showcase current models, not older ones that make their current stuff look bad.

In total Turn 10 has given us a better alternative to what Sony has been offering us, and Forza caters to fans of all regions.  Not just Asia.

Be happy with any DLC at all.  I'll gladly pay 400ms points for new cars, especially because new cars bring players back that haven't played in a while.  Support our community folks.

Re: new DLC vid on gametrailers.coMS

... I just can't for the life of me understand why people are spazzing about the lack of those 80s-early 90s Mustangs, which are both ugly and crappy, when there are so many cars that are both good and beautiful that they could add to the game...

Furthermore, I think that the Aston Martin V12 or V8 Vantage should be added to this game.

I'd hardly consider what I did above "bitching."  In fact, I'd say that where civility is concerned, my post is far more innoccuous than yours.  I made a measured and reasoned observation concerning what T10 has done well in the past and, IMO, does poorly here.  There's a difference between bitching and observing.  And before you ask, yes, I posted in the request thread, as did many others.  Reading the thread was what made me think of that car as a good example.

Re: DLC - Everyone needs to look at this differently.

how about this for a different perspective:

    15 cars every 3 months

    3 regions in the game

    15/3=5

5 new cars from each region , everybody gets a little of what they want.

    call it the new math.

now we just poll for what 5 cars we want from each region and make it happen, yes....? no....?

plus 1 new track and 2 old tracks (forza 1)

plus new decals/parts/rims/special things to unlock each DLC ; level 51 maybe.

just a different way to look at the same issue...............

    peace

Re: DLC - Everyone needs to look at this differently.

For fun I decided to try something...

I skimmed through this thread to come up with some numbers regarding opinions on this DLC. There are so many factors that I could run on and I wanted to be fair so I just divided the posts/opinions up into 2 categories:

(These numbers do NOT reflect whether or not the users will be purchasing the car pack.)

Category 1: 31% of the users posting are completely happy with the list and saw more than 1 car they asked for or really wanted.

Category 2: 68% of the users posting are disappointed with the list, requested other cars or only find 1 - 2 cars they would actually use.

Some users' posts could almost fall into both categories so those were not included.

I'm not necessarily trying to prove any point here. Regardless of which category you fall into, it's just food for thought.

Re: new DLC vid on gametrailers.coMS

So I see many of you are saying that the American cars cant turn??? Really? Maybe you just need better tunings my friends. I have beaten AWD caymans, evos with my Cobra and Corvettes (the old ones). I have horribly ripped around CLK GTRs on Nurbugring S class races with my Trans Am. It all takes tuning. I've seen some cars on here that even I thought were absolute SH*T, but some one managed to tune them down and make em run.

If you're trying to compare a standard street car (muscles, tuners, what ev...) to say, a super car (Saleen S7, Enzo Ferrari, etc.) thats like comparing apples and oranges. If you run street car to street car, muscles are just as competitive. If you're runing street cars to supercars, its a hell of a stretch for the street car to topple a supercar. Not to say that it cant be done. I have a few freinds who have tuned their Camaros and Chargers to run rings around Saleen S7s. So dont say that Muscles cant handle the road if the problem lies in your tuning and driving abilities.

    :-D
