Allright, my impressions about the track

first off, if you think you know the track because you drive perfectly on it playing forza, then you're wrong.

All the corners are WAY tighter than what we know from forza or GT, the track is wider too and the slopes are more like walls. Overall, the closest thing I know from this track is a rollercoaster, the only difference is that there, things can go wrong, things actuall go wrong all the time there, even tho there weren't many cars on it when I was there, I've seen an RX8 crash. Thank god the guy was allright.

it was an awesome experience but when I was driving on the track, I had to be focus every second, even tho I did it at a relatively slow speed, my lap time was around 15/16 minutes wich is ALOT but it was my first time there and I had a passenger. I'll go back there for sure, but I'll bring a helmet and I'll do it alone. Today it was more like a "tourist trip".

haha you don't want to know, it was my very first time there and to be honnest, even if you know the ring on forza perfectly, you don't know **** about it in real life (pardon my language, it's not an attack or anything ^^)

no that it's different, but you even been in a rollercoaster ? well, the nurburgring is a rollercoaster where you have to drive. Even tho I do the track at least twice a day on forza, I couldn't drive very fast on it.

I had a passenger and it's impressive when you get to the first corner (the one around the pits) and you realize the corners are TIGHT.

well, that being said, there are 16 minutes between the shot where I'm in the entrance and the one I'm in the exit.

but the straight at the end is limited, there was a crash while I was on it and the karoussel is actually in maintenance. not to mention I took care of not disturbing faster cars behind me.

the track is very impressif as I said, I could have driven a little faster if I were alone in the car, but I also realised you can't really drive fast there unless you have at least 10 or 20 laps experience.

there are really tight corners on the track, but in FM2 or GT you can go full throttle with no problem.

I have a friend who does around 9 minutes on it, but that's actually fast for "regular" people with "regular" cars.

I'll go back there for sure (around 100 miles from home) and then I'll drive alone, see what I can do.

i remember watching Clarkson from Top Gear trying to get sub 10 minute times in that Jag (i think it was a Jag...?) and he asked the girl (forgot her name...LOL) how many laps it usually takes to memorize the course, and she said 50! just crazy!

i think im gonna go watch those episodes again...i love watching her drive around the Ring in that old van! LOL i wouldnt mind driving the Ring one day myself...but itll probably be a long way off for me.

That is soo cool, I'm jealous.  I hope to some day make to the ring and do a lap or two, just wish it was as easy as jumping in the car and making a road trip.

That is sooo freaking cool! I've wanted to at least take a lap on the ring since I was a kid. Were you surprised by how bumpy it was or how short some of the straights are compared to the game? To bad you can't stop along the track to take pics huh? Next time you go you should take a video camera with you...

hehe thanks, actually it was one of mines as well, now I have to go see the great wall of china.

and of course, get a job @ turn 10 ^^

As for the track, it's really different from what we can feel on forza, there are no "real" straight lines at the exception of the one where you start, all the corners are WAY tighter and when you see the road going up or downhill, well, try and imagine a roller coaster it's the closest thing.

it's different than anything I've seen on the road so far, I can't imagine how people can be that fast on that track, there are traps everywhere, even tho you know the track from a video game, the real thing is like unbelievable, you couldn't even imagine how it is watching a video, it's really impressive and ridiculously dangerous.

We've been passed by very fast porsches -there were a 996 GT2 and some techart porsche as well, I wish I could be half that fast in the corners.

Even tho I was not very fast on it, I almost got off the track in one corner, I recognized it but I didn't think it was that tight, thank god I have pretty new brake pads and everything turned out allright.

I went to check your RL pics, dude they're awesome, I could surely use some tips from you. what kind of camera/lens do you have ? seeing your pics either you have a kick a$$ lens either you're that good, or maybe both ! I just got started on photography and I could use a little help and advice from someone like you.
