Re: Cop cars, get your fresh hot cop cars!
I grabbed the CHiP Mustang and Barricade Mustang, absolutely fantastic paint, I really like the tune on the CHiP car, I'm trying to tune the Barricade car into a non-aero S class, but uhh, lol yeah, its an uphill battle with no downforce apparently, but loving it regardless.
Any chance you guys might be able to do a stealth cruiser, you know the ones that have the "invisible" reflective decals, heres a sample:

Same car, slightly different angle....these are menacing looking cars on the street, would look really mean on track, too, imo.
Thanks

Re: Cop cars, get your fresh hot cop cars!
forzajunkie i really dont think its possible on the game to do that invisible paint where it will just show at a different angle but it might.. that is really cool though ive never seen that b4.. but we can do a car with the angle paint on it

Re: Cop cars, get your fresh hot cop cars!
I've seen pictures of those paint jobs, ForZaJunkee - absolutely wicked. You can stand ten feet away from it and not see it, but you tilt your head or the light moves a little, and all of a sudden, it's," Oh, hi, officer, I didn't see you there..." I... you know, I have an idea. Let me try this one little trick, and maybe I'll be able to do something close to this. It probably won't be as noticeable as the real thing, as it won't pop when it suddenly becomes visible, but it just might do something similar. It would be awfully difficult to work with, so the design would end up being very simple - none of this super-complex badge business - because I'd have to carve it out in negative. But let me try a test paint with a few simple shapes first just to see if it even works. Oh, and that Mustang's fun, isn't it? It's a little different for a cop car - it's light and lithe now instead of heavy on its feet, so it's got this fun go-karty feel to it. I was actually going to change the parts layout so that it would have more power and more weight, but it didn't want to add up to 850, and it just didn't feel quite the same. Every time I tried something different, I kept not liking it and going back to that no-aero setup, and it just felt right. So despite having a slightly different feel than most of our cop cars, it stays as our no-aero Mustang tune. But S-class? Wow, you're a glutton for punishment - it was hard enough compensating for the lack of downforce in A class! I've already begun tinkering with the Corvette Z06 Interceptor tune, too. Anyone who wants the old aero A-class Corvette package better sign up soon, because it's about to become obsolete. The new 'Vette will be an S-class no-aero tune, and it's certainly more of a handful than the others. I'm working on toning down the skittishness that it develops at speed with no downforce, and once it feels like it's ready to do high speed pursuit, we'll be debuting the new tune with a few paint jobs too. Also, another upcoming project that I thought I would share with you folks: here's a sneak peek at the new Arkansas State Police design, but right now it's on a 1973 Pontiac Trans Am DLC car. It's a pretty paint scheme, bold blue and white, and will be on the Charger in time for our next open auction. But for now, it's gracing our next project, the '73 TA. It's a downloaded car, so if you don't have the car packs, now's a good time to get caught up - this thing is a beast in B class already. This is a special project in conjunction with an independent tuner,
OG Wretch, who will be tackling the task of getting the TA roadworthy. It's actually a little intimidating how fast it is already, because it's actually better all the way around than a lot of A-class cars. But this is still in a testing phase at this point, so we'll see how it's looking when it's ready for the official FMP Interceptor tag. Smart money, however, is on this thing being a hot seller, so make sure you've downloaded the extra content before we start making deliveries.

Re: Cop cars, get your fresh hot cop cars!
I think I might know where youre going with the carve it out of negative idea, keep it posted if you are able to get it to work....yeah that mustang, lol its going back to your tune that was on it, I wanted it to be really fast by pushing S class, but no aero, uhhh, it doesnt work, lol not in my hands anyway
if you release that T/A and its tuned by OG Wretch, put me down for the first one, I have an S998 GT40 from him, if this is anything like that car, it'll be a balanced beast for sure....and that paint is awesome too, I bought a (spammed, I'm sure, shame on me ) bandit T/A on AH, would make for some interesting pics with both on track, classic chase scene for sure...

Re: Cop cars, get your fresh hot cop cars!
Well, I think it works, but not quite the way I planned. With just one click of difference between colors, the designs end up either blending so closely that it's only barely noticeable at the right angle, or it's way too noticeable when it's supposed to blend. It seems to work better with the metallic green/blue, but who ever heard of a metallic green cop car? Kind of hideous if you ask me, but then again, I drive a Ford, not a Scion. I'll keep tinkering with it to see if I can get the colors to match a little more closely with some extra transparent layers.

Re: Cop cars, get your fresh hot cop cars!
Nice, I'm looking forward to getting my hands on an ASP Charger.
That Charger is just one of those cars I haven't spent much time at all with for some odd reason.
OASN, lots of drama has kept me from getting the info requested but I have a chance today to go hunting again.
Oh, you do have a pm or two Darque. ![Cool [H]](/emoticons/emotion-11.gif)

Re: Cop cars, get your fresh hot cop cars!
Arkansas State Patrol Charger is complete: This beauty will be available immediately and is, of course, offered standard with the FMP Interceptor A850 tune, courtesy of Pothole 0222. GM Silverado/Budtheweiser: Washington D.C. Police... Along with the Metro Police picture that Budtheweiser posted, I also found this Capitol Police design: (Like many of the photos that I use, this one is courtesy of Police Worldwide, an excellent resource for finding pictures of just about any cop car in the world. I frequently use it for both reference and inspiration.) I'm not entirely sure what the difference is - I can only guess that, being a large city but not in any state, that there would be some major differences in organizational structure. Maybe one functions as sheriff, or state police, while the other operates solely within the downtown area? I'm not sure. If anyone familiar with the D.C. police might be able to tell us the difference, I'd love to hear it, just for the sake of curiosity. Both designs are pretty cool, though, so I wouldn't mind doing either one. I'm finishing up Denver - the badge is all but done now, and the rest of the car should be a snap - and some other side-projects are simmering in the background, but I might be able to begin work on D.C. soon. Speaking of D.C., it reminds me that we haven't touched any of the government agencies yet, other than forzzzaplaya's FBI GT40. We need CIA, Homeland Security, MPs, Customs, Secret Service, Postal Service, Bureau of Prisons, Fish and Wildlife... there are even individualized cars for tribal lands, the US Mint, and Park Services. In other words, I could do this for the next twenty years and not run out of material. And I bet you guys thought "cop cars" was a small niche, hm? Oh, and the website is just about done - for a few loyal customers, there will shortly be a PM in your inbox with a link to the site, just to test things out and make sure everything works before we go fully live. Consider yourselves honored beta testers for the Forza Motor Pool Forums. ;)

If you look up Ocean City, MD police cars, IIRC they have a pretty sick design.

About the invisible paint, It can be done on Forza 2. It is one of the 'Custom Colours' after the Metallic paint. Scroll through the black and silver custom colours and you should find it... Here's the link to an example... http://youtube.com/watch?v=suvGZPt7BFs

Re: Cop cars, get your fresh hot cop cars!
The badge is always the fun part, Budtheweiser... ;) Also, a little tip: when you go to Photobucket to upload pics, right before you enter the file names from your computer, there's a pulldown menu that lets you choose the final size of the pictures. For these boards, the "Large 640 x 480" works best - otherwise, we end up seeing just the left half of all the photos.
