Online Tournament's - Now Featuring the Turn 10 Sunday Challenge!

Introducing the Turn 10 Sunday Challenge! - Custom Tournament 1

Ok I want to officially announce the launch of the first recurring tournament to be added to the roster, called the "Sunday Special".

This tournament will start and finish in on day on Sundays, and will run from 12 till around 5 PM PST (not including qualifications)

There is a 70 Minute break in between each round, and in total there will be 4 rounds.  64 players per bracket and 3 tiers!

Additionally the tracks will rotate every week for a total of 5 weeks, before starting over again.  DLC tracks are included, and are the qualifying track and first round race for each tournament. If you dont have the content you will know right away instead of halfway through the tournament.

Currently this tournament is geared towards the North American audience, however once we verify that the settings are correct we can make another duplicate tournament that will run during primetime GMT.

So if there are any problems with the scheduling I apologize.  It should be set-up correctly, but if not we can try again next Sunday :)

Also this is the first (and not the last) custom tournament that has been launched, so if you are not fond of this style of tournament dont fret, as I am sure there will be one to suit your style in the near future!

    Thanks,

Well it seems like we're getting a much awaited overhaul on our weekly cycle of tournaments.  Post all of your ideas here for what you'd like to see in the automated weekly events!

Yep as Solo mentioned I am going to be doing some work in the next few weeks to spice up the tournament feature.  I can't be sure when we are going to roll out the new tournaments, but once I gather some ideas I will start scheduling them and setting them up!

One thing that can't be changed... the system won't let them change the collisions or the damage settings sorry.

    Re: Online Tournament Overhaul!

Fix the problem with the stock tournaments.  Everytime you hold one, there are glitched times that appear.  This weeks HLC has been up less than 6 hours, and already someone is running 18 seconds faster than everyone else.

If you can't fix the issue, stop running stock tournys.

On a more positive note, changing the tracks around for the weekly tournaments would do a world of good to revitalize interest.  PGR used to change the car for each round of a tournament, I think that is an idea worth considering.

    Example:
    R4 qualifier = #57 Viper on Suzuka
    R4 round 2 = #35 Supra on Silverstone
    R4 round 3 = #23 Nismo GT-R on Laguna

    etc...

Or have it by manufacturer (stock settings, assuming the glitch is fixed))
Round 1 = Honda Prelude on Road Atlanta
Round 2 = Honda NSX-R on Maple Reverse
Round 3 = Mugen Integra on Mugello

    etc....

    just some ideas

I completly agree on this! Stock tourneys are awesome.. even with 1 or 2 glitched times out of thousends.. ^^

    Re: Online Tournament Overhaul!

    I have a question....

Is there anyway to just randomize the tournies so that the tracks are randomized?

    example:

One week the qualifier for the R4 class would be on Suzuka... next week.. the new R4 would have its qualifier on say Road America... then the next time it would be on Silver internaional... and etc.

Of course the tracks for the later round would also be randomized.

Also I like the idea of Stock tournies thrown in.

And alos certain restriction tournies too.

But my biggest thing is the lack of variety in track selection... its always the same tourny every week. If its B-class on Tsukuba one week for qualifiers its B class Tsukluba EVERY week..

After you run it once or twice whats really the point of running it again? It becomes more like driving to work(everyday routine) as opposed to a new experience each time.

    Thanks for your time,

Please randomize the start times from week to week.   There are alot of members out there that only race after midnight EST.

    for the oneday tourney

i think you should have qualifiying starting monday ending friday night.top 64. then hold the races on sunday starting @9AM PST. i think that a decent time for most time zones. and keep the racing to a 3hr limit from start to finish of racing.

    Re: Online Tournament Overhaul!

My only request, whether it be HCL or other, is that we completely do away with stock cars.  I still don't understand why anyone would want to cut out a major portion of what makes Forza a great game.  I wouldn't have a problem with forcing the same car for everyone, but at least give us the opportunity to upgrade to a certain PI and then tune the car for each persons driving style.  If you cannot or will not do that, at the very least make the stock tuned challenges actually stock, meaning force it so that the tire pressures are stock as well.  I wouldn't mind a C Class Integra or whatever as long as I can change up the springs to match how I drive.  Plus it gives the tuners something to do for the week and I think they are a valuable part of the community, so they should be part of the fun as well IMO.

    Re: Online Tournament Overhaul!

I agree, i was drifting in free run on tsukuba with a car, and then went to this hot lap tourny to check it out. Then i realized that i was not in the car that i was supposed to be in, quit out and tried it again.  It then put me in the s4. Didnt want my name on the leaderboard for a glitch, and how u suppose i get better at the game when u cheat your way to the top?

Anyway, i like what he is saying to have random cars with random tracks. Then u cant just go dl a setup off the leaderboard. I am not the one who smells like cheap cologne and aged wiskey! :)

Some spec tourneys, I just did a 50laps endurance race on Silverstone with A812 BMW's (and I'm tired lol), and it was awesome, I finished 2nd and won 2100MS points from the organization ^^

    +1

Stock cars are boring.  I've never understood why someone would want to race bone stock cars on a game such as Forza.  To me, if you want to race around in cars you can't tune something like PGR would be more for you.

As far as tourny ideas.  I'd like to see more signifigance placed on not only playing but doing well.  There should be a reward for winning a tournament.  With no reward then there's not much of a point which is why I think this feature is largely neglected at this point.  Maybe do something similiar to the FM.net HLC but with a monthly tournament that you qualify for then race out to the end with the winner getting some sort of reward (credits, unicorn cars, recognition in the ppr...etc).

    Re: Online Tournament Overhaul!

One day tournaments! That's the biggest thing, start and end in the same day. Add some of the other classes ... change which classes run on which tracks. Just get some variety into the tournaments. I haven't bothered to race one in months simply because I ran them last summer ... when they were the exact same thing.

    Re: Online Tournament Overhaul!

I would like to see a restriction menu that deals with tires such as Race tires only / Sport Tires only / Steet tires only / Race and Sport tires only / Steet and Sport Tires only. There are horsepower / weight and other restrictions in place. I would also like to see some of these  TIRE restrictions implemented in the Tourneys.
