At least this week I only have to worry about my crappy driving instead of my setup AND my crappy driving.

It was some work but I finally managed a top 50 for in the Tsakuba challenge. This week I can't really gage what my expectations should be.

    Good luck everyone.

Very true, but it is a balance that teams and racers without confidence that they can tune will relish. The opportunity to pit just their track skills against everyone else to see where they stack up. A good way to end the final week of the series.

Maybe in the next series we can get the Bentley Continental on King Cobra.Stick out tongue [:P]

Re: Hot Lap Challenge Week 12 Series Week 5

Just as an FYI for next season I'm trying to come up with some creative ways to take feedback and write the rules each week based on feedback.  If I msg each team representative sometime during the week do enough of you think you'd respond?  Ultimately I'm going to be ineligible next session and to eliminate any perception of an unfair advantage my car club might get I'm going to try and take feedback for each week for the settings.  I will probably narrow down the selections and say pick this class or this class.  Pick this setting or this setting.  I'll do it privately so people can't necessarily figure out exactly what it will be.

Re: Hot Lap Challenge Week 12 Series Week 5

    Random is awesome :)

Put all the classes in a hat, pick one.
Put all the tracks (including test tracks & rev), pick one.
Put all 3 drivetrains in a hat, pick one. (For some classes this may not apply)
Flip a coin for each assist on or off... heads is yes, tails is no.

Then all you need to decide on is what car or what restrictions to apply. Set a PI limit, or "Euro-Hatch" or "<2055lbs" etc.

You could end up with a U class FWD with no traction control on King Cobra Rev, or a D class AWD on Nurburgring, but as long as it's random, no one could complain.

I think the choices have been very good up to this point, so whatever you do, keep up the good work!

Oh, Solo, when is the next Team Series starting? I see you mentioned an off week?

This is one of the greatest ideas I have seen.

Reminds me of that Random rules tourney, I never did get that one going, eh, Scot?

Re: Hot Lap Challenge Week 12 Series Week 5

Yes-that sounds like a good idea! Quick question : Will the nurburgring ever be in a hotlap challenge? Even though some people may complain about a long course, the nurburgring would be a great way to show who is really putting in the time, plus allowing others who are not usually in the top 10 to have a chance to compete against the front-runners.

Taking away people assist option would be a very bad idea. I for one would be way pissed off and raising hell.

Re: Hot Lap Challenge Week 12 Series Week 5

Some great ideas guys.  And I don't see why we couldn't have a no assist HL week.  It's only one week. It would give some of the others a good chance at the top.  Mixing it up  is what it is all about.

Re: Hot Lap Challenge Week 12 Series Week 5

My idea is to seperate the clubs series and make 2.
I think some club members put more efford in this when it's for the team, and less (or nothing at all) when they do it for themself. But I think I am the only one that care, and the only one without a club here.

For this week, the last two times with a stock car I had my best results. But that were some bad handling power cars, think this will be something totally different. I don't see me under 1:39 and maybe a lot of fighting to stay in top100.

Wait 4 Me, you'll always be King of the 'D' pad, but I think you'll be kicking my butt with your steering wheel before I know it! After that? You may start turning all of your assists off too ; ) See you at the 'Ring' sometime this weekend? We'll do some 'wheel-time'! I'm going to need a break from Monterey anyhow... two laps and I'm only 99th.

Re: Hot Lap Challenge Week 12 Series Week 5

Oh boy, here we go again with the assists.  I've got no problem with a TCS off week.  ABS needs to be left on because the simulation of not having ABS is not very well done in my opinion.  I've driven many real life cars without ABS in my life and not a one of them locked up with the slightest touch of the brake.  Maybe it's different for the wheel users but with the controller it's pretty bad.

For my suggestions, I'm with Greek, give us some test tracks to even up the controller users vs the wheel users.

Re: Hot Lap Challenge Week 12 Series Week 5

Yeah I completely agree Georgia, I've never used assists in any of the racing sims I've played previously. But this wheel... sorry I mean toy plastic thingy was pointless when using the brake.  Locks up instantly.   Its not realistic in any way which is why I said bugger it and just use ABS now.

But that is all the more reason for the non assist users to have their day :)

Re: Hot Lap Challenge Week 12 Series Week 5

How about TCS and STM off the week we run a D-class AWD car? :)

Assists will remain optional to maintain participation levels.  People would decline participation if they were turned off.  I don't see anyone neglecting to participate with them on since it's entirely optional to turn them off.
