Hey everyone. After some back and forth with our marketing folks, I've managed to convince all parties to lower the price of our upcoming DLC track Twin Ring Motegi to 400 MS points.

I just want you guys to know that the main impetus for this is directly related to the feedback we received here on the forums - particularly the concern that 600 MS points ($7.50) requires the user to purchase a block of 1000 MS points ($12.50) from Live Marketplace, whereas 400 MS points ($5.00) only requires the user to buy a 500 MS point package ($6.25) from Marketplace.

All in all, seeing as Motegi is the first DLC track we've ever done, going through this discussion has been educational for everyone. As I've said before, the goal of DLC isn't so much a revenue generator (production costs usually far outweigh your return) but it's more of a way to keep the community engaged in your game. We wanted to make sure that we keep our eye on that goal.

Twin Ring Motegi (which includes 4 ribbons) will go live on Marketplace this Friday (10/26/07) at 9AM GMT worldwide. Motegi should show up in our scoreboard section on FM.net sometime today, and if you got the FM2 auto-update this morning, you should be able to see it in-game as well.

We're also going to launch a comprehensive Motegi track guide to go with the release at the end of today or early tomorrow morning. Look for it!

Wow, I'm so happy. I'll be buying it. 400ms points is about what I'd pay for it. It feels kind of good knowing that my feedback in someway helped lower the price.

My question now is how many of those "I don't like the track" people will buy it now. I know that I wanted to buy the track, but didn't want to pay $7.50 for it. lol

Anyway, thanks Che for whatever you did and thanks to anyone else who had any say in the matter and listened to the community.

This sits a lot better with me. I think I will pick it up now.

Meanwhile, my dearest wish is that future DLC tracks include some career challenges (and if you want to include Motegi in some of those challenges, even better). For me, tracks with career challenges would be more appealing by a factor of 10.

If I remember right *almost* everyone who didn't want it didn't want it because of the price. I'd hope everyone with xbox live that plays fm2 fairly often would pick it up now, also forcing those who don't like the track to pick it up.

Is this why the download is not available yet. I just bought 1000 points in anticipation and it wasn't up so i bought the car pack for 400 with 600 points left for the ring. How long,

at the end of teh day what is a couple of quid here and there

Fantastic news!  Thankyou for taking the forums feedback to heart and making the decision easier for us fans.

Fantastic news! The price was never a concern for me but it is great to see a developer who will take on board and listen to what their community is saying. I hope that all those that slagged T10 off have the guts to come on here and apologise. Your points of view were valid but the way some responded was extremeley destructive. And I guess we also have to say a big thankyou to everyone who criticised in a more positive manner, your tolerance and eloquence has been rewarded.

And finally on massive thankyou to che. This just wouldn't have happened if it were not for che.

Now I only have one question.  9 AM GMT is what time PST?

This is awesome I can almost forgive you guys for all the scoreboard stuff.  Though I still would like to see a free car for each person who had to deal with the wipes.

For 400 points I shall definately purchase it.
