Hello everyone!

Here is a short description of the Tournament series that we are planning to attach to the Hotlap challenge this week.

With the huge success of the Hotlap series, we have decided to expand the challenge to incorporate an actual tournament as well.  This two part challenge allows those who have spent time hotlapping a chance to run in a tournament with the same settings.  Here is how it’s going to work.  Each week after the Hotlap challenge winners have been announced a new tournament will be created.  This tournament will have the exact same settings as the Hotlap challenge, and will be set to qualify on the same track.  The tournament qualifications will run from Friday to Sunday and the top players from each region will move on to the first round.  Here is a breakdown of the round structure.

Autumn R3 Crossover Tournament Schedule

Qualifications
Start: Friday October 12, 2007 at 6:00PM PT
Ends: Sunday October 14, 2007 at 5:30PM PT

Round 1: Sunday October 15th at 6:00PM PT
Round 2: Monday October 16th at 6:00PM PT
Round 3: Tuesday October 17th at 6:00PM PT
Round 4: Wednesday October 18th at 6:00PM PT
Final Round: Thursday October 19th at 6:00PM PT

*The European version of the tournament will be run on the same days at 8:00PM GMT*

This system allows players the chance to race head to head after spending time fine tuning and running Hotlaps.  For the players that simply want to run Hotlaps there will be a challenge posted alongside the tournament so there is no need to worry!  In the future we might decide to break up the flow of these challenges so that you aren’t using the same car for two weeks in a row, however for now we are going to kick it off with this format.

We will be rewarding the top 3 drivers from all 6 divisions (3 in North America and 3 in Europe) with a free gift car of choice, so if you did not get selected in the Random 30 you still have another shot at getting a Unicorn!

How can a "Stock" tournament reward people from tuning? The only thing you can tune is the tire pressure. The 6 region idea is good, but the top 10 people from the Hot Lap already have won a car and a few more from the top 200.

Wouldn't choosing the top 8 from each of the 6 regions make a better tournament? There would be less days involved.

It would be hard for a lot of people to set aside that many days in a row for a tournament.

There also will be a lot of people not showing up and not being able to get into the room just like the Nissan Sentra Tournament.

The only tournaments in my opinion that will be successful would be tournaments with a racing official present in each race.

I'm still not satisfied with not being able to get into my race for round 3 of the Nissan Tournament. Round 4 is supposed to be 32 players, but will they all get connected?

oops i qualified 12th and didnt realize the race was actually tonight. i figured it would be tomorrow. oh well

well, i had a split lobby on tuesday, but i couldnt make the race on wednesday so i didnt chase it up - i suggest a small field of maybe 512 so the knockout is one day less

also maybe better notifications about tourney races - an xbl message telling you when you have a race sent the day of the race or after the qualifying - the 15 minute ingame things are generally ok if someone is online on 4za, but ppl are often playing other games where they wont be notified

I went to start my race last night and it wouldnt let me in... as if i didnt come top four. I came second. This really frustrates me, especially when its a tournament more about driver skill than tune. I've been trying to win a unicorn car for about 2 months and thought thisa tourney was my best shot. Is anything gonna be done about these tournament issues or should i just trade forza in for pg4? Well back to Road atlanta for a lot more really frustrating laps.

Bracket 2 in custom trny had split lobby,4 drivers in my lobby, Finnish order was ShadowBoxing,POLSKA25,DeMan5000,Lanthantos. none of us are in the Final. only Wood too who must of split.please fix this.

What Shadowboxing said is correct, in our "limbo" lobby race we had him first, then poloska25, then DEMANN5000, then myself in 4th.

This one seems like an easy fix, four of us, four empty slots in the Final?

i also agree with shadowboxing, i dont want to have to miss the final round of a tournament just because of some stupid prob like this.

Let me add something here,POLOSKA25,DeMann500 and myself are in the lobby, i send a Mssge to Lanthantos that we are in the lobby, he sends back that he also is in a lobby, to avoid a split lobby i get him in chat and tell him to close his lobby and join our lobby, Problem solved, Right?  Three lobby's??

For this week I'm in a lobby all by myself ( he that sound like a catchy lyric for a song ) with 4 minutes to go. Either people didn't get the purpose of this or I'm in a split lobby. Oh well, the track all to myself.

I did try leaving the lobby with 7 minutes to go and coming back to see if i ended up in another lobby but it put me in the same one.

Well the race is over now and i won against myself. Upon review of the results, it looks like it was a split lobby as  it shows in order of qualification number that I won. ( I qualified 7th )

Best lap during my race was a 1:21.8 by me. ( Did I say I was in the lobby by myself )

Results - 7, 5, 6, 121, 8, 122, 124, 123

So going by my logic everyone else was in another room or two.
