Re: Hotlap Challenge Week 26 - Undefined...
Palerider, from my standpoint what you did was the class thing to do. You rebuilt your car and on top of that asked for your time to be wiped. I can't understand hatemail towards you.
I'm sure Turn 10 is looking into this further and will address the matter in this thread or the Pit Pass Report. No need to jump the gun and post instructions on how to perform the glitch. This is coming from someone who doesn't know the way to unlock it and has no intention in trying it.

Re: Hotlap Challenge Week 26 - Undefined...
BBR Pale Rider: Finally, to address those of you sending me unpleasant PMs over XBL, this is the only response you receive from me:
While I understand your frustrations over being too slow to compete, don't blame your inability to get any faster than 1:12.200 on not being able to perform the tire glitch. VVV Headyman is nearly 2 full seconds faster than you and he isn't using the tire glitch. Let me suggest that instead of sending nasty PMs calling me a cheat, that you understand that a Turn 10 employee told a fellow teammate that this glitch is OK to use. You want to question my motives, and all I can say is that since this not part of the HCL season in which my team can gain points, my only motive for running this challenge is to get an Evo TME, whether it be from a top 10 finish or part of the random 30. You want to question my integrity, and I will tell you that if I had none, I certainly would not of addressed R2P Henniker earlier in this thread in the manner that I did, I certainly would not have apologized for something was OK'd to use and I certainly would not have did a complete rebuild of the car to use in this HLC. Finally, I'd like to say that you are now blocked from sending me any more messages, so save yourself the trouble of sending anything. Your secret of being an enormous A-hole is safe with me.
Thanks and have a wonderful day!
LOL, that's funny, I QUICKLY built up a DB9 and with the stock tune ran a 1:12:9xx on the third lap just to make sure I had a time on the boards that would qualify me for the random 30 drawing...obviously could shave quite a bit of time off with a decent tune and couple more laps.

You were acting on the information you had at the time, a mistake made in good faith isn't cheating to me.
But some kind of response from Turn 10 would be nice, even if it's " We're busy with the DLC at the moment"

Re: Hotlap Challenge Week 26 - Undefined...
The tire glitch isn't a cheat...doesn't take a rocket sceintist to figure it out. It works w/ in the limitations of the PI system. The fact that people don't know how to do it doesn't make it a cheat...it makes it a glitch, but a glitch that obides by the governing rules of Forza 2's PI system. The muscle cars are much more broken than the tire glitch. Any one hating on Pale Rider for his setup(s) and basically forcing him to apologize for doing nothing wrong can shuv-it (insert Deftones here). Pale apologized as an individual, not as a TRC, but TRC is a little online family and anything you guys have to say to Pale, you have to say to me too and the other 30+ members that make TRC. So...all you internet, Forza 2 tough guys can just jog on.. I'm workin on my buzz right now and just got back from being out to sea for 15+ days and reading this thread has pissed of the little part of my brain I allocate for the internet. Maybe you guys should consider partitioning a much more vast area of your brains to the great outdoors instead of Forza. ...and yes...I am referring to brains as hard drives. ...So while your at it, re-format your brain in NTFS.

Absolutely inexcuseable sending fellow players hate mail by pm, what sort of "a" holes are these people. you should be kicked off xbox live perm. that is against TOS. I would not hesitate in naming and shaming these idiots.

Based on Eries' findings....It might not be going with the limitations of the PI system. I believe it was a feature to be included in the game, but for whatever reason it was scrapped and may not have been totally evaluated.
I have no idea who you think is attacking Palerider in recent posts.

Re: Hotlap Challenge Week 26 - Undefined...
The only 100% way to fix this mess, would be to release a patch that allows everyone to see all the stock tires, without having to perform a special action. It's obvious that different grades of stock tire were once planned to be in the game, since the PI system accounts for it.
That's the easiest solution that would satisfy most IMO.

Re: Hotlap Challenge Week 26 - Undefined...
It works within the PI system, what it allows you to do is downgrade your tires and let you spend those PI points on something else that might be more useful on the track than the tires would have been.

We would need more than just one test to see. Perhaps it affects some cars more, just like the rest of the cars in the game. Some cars repond more to tire upgrades than others. The fact is the PI drops when you downgrade the tires, therefore the PI system is 'working'. How much, or how little, faith I put in the PI system is a whole other story (muscle cars). The attacks were in PM's on xbox live. Pale explained it in his post.

Re: Hotlap Challenge Week 26 - Undefined...
Factory yes I agree more tests are needed, but hear me out.
We are talking about a glitch here where the street tires could be chosen where the car comes out with street tires as a stock tire. Now in all other cars you see 3 upgrades namely street-sport-race these tires have two parts in them namely, Grip and Response a stock tire on a mini has a 0/0 configuration whereas a Ferrari F40 has a 3/3 as a stock tire. Now making the tire a 2/2 gives you 4 PI points now this may not seem much but like I stated the class is 850 thus going above that makes it a S class car so by taking 4 PI points from the tires you can now add a full suspension kit. A full suspension kit gives you much more than the downgrade of your tires by 1/1 point. Thinking of tracks like Sebring where mussle is the key you can take the tires down to a 1/1 giving you a whopping 10 PI points, Imagine what you can do with so much. Makes really you driving a 855 car against 850 cars with the same handling and grip (if you know what you are doing when it comes to suspensions).
For most this is a bit too much. But some out there really grasps the way these cars work in the game. So they can take those 10 PI points and make the car more in the order of a 900PI against 850's. If you see this as fair then ok, but I assure you guys will rip up the tracks. The reason for my test was to show that on a track that grip is needed more than power I took grip away and made the car handle even better with an added benifit. It was lighter now faster and more nippy. If I can do this on a grip track imagine what you can do on a power track.

Re: Hotlap Challenge Week 26 - Undefined...
as someone who has to work his butt off to get in the top 200,it seems that if this advantage is not available to everyone it is cheating.I cannot now, help wondering if I would have placed higher if this advantage had been an option for me.I may or may not have used it ,but that would have been up to me and my conscience to decide.

but to be honest the non glitched car is easier to drive and it only took a few laps to beat the glitched times
my main point was that a glitched car wont instantly make a crap driver get good times

Re: Hotlap Challenge Week 26 - Undefined...
Ok not at all rude here but if you can not go faster with the glitched car then well you fall into the group I stated earlier "Some know how the cars work and how to really tune them to acchieve what you want out of the car" You can very easily tune a car which has less grip to run more grippy than a car that has more grip to start with. On Sebring more horses are needed. I wish I wasnt going back to SA but this I assure you. The moment Im back there I will build the car and do exstensive testing on various grip models. But hats off to all who in fact get the non glitched car to compete against glitched models.

I wanna say something. I'm gonna put it out there; if you like it, you can take it, if you don't, send it right back...I want to be on you....oh wait, I meant I wouldn't mind a DB9 setup if someone is feeling generous LOL.
Sorry guys, with the recent seriousness of this whole tire thing, I thought this thread could stand for a little levity, not to mention I really wouldn't mind a decent tuning setup for that DB9 if someone wants to hook me up ;)

Yeah but Eries, with the DB9, you are maxing out HP with or without the tire glitch. I never built the glitched car, I only ran the HLC for one day and that was yesterday. I am assuming that the tire swap would allow you wider tires, or lighter rims, or better suspension. Technically those additions should make you faster, but you are swapping grip for grip, not grip for power. It's all too confusing for me. lumthemad:1st I resent being called a "crap driver"

What Turbo meant was that the tire glitch will not allow someone is 200th place to suddenly run top 25. All those times you see now in the 1:10 range are non-glitch setups. Only one TRC member ran the glitch setup, and only because he took Che(Turn 10 employee) at his word that it was OK to do. He has since beaten his time with the normal stock tires on. We are not crying, we simply want an official response from Che or Landin, so we can start building cars that are competitive with the rest of the field, and that no one will call a 'cheat car'.

Re: Hotlap Challenge Week 26 - Undefined...
Indeed Factory this might seem the case but if you view the different benifits from each part more closely youll see where I'm coming from. Tires only give you grip thats it ok and response. A lesser response tire tends to slide a little more without losing time so it is ideal for the DB9 since this would make the turn in more stable. Then with an exstra point or two to go towards the suspension this makes for more than just a little stablitity. Now in an AWD car you need quick response as a FWD but for the RWD you can easily find more seconds out of lesser response tires. Here is a little check you can perform. Put the lowest response tire on the car thus a 3 grip 1 response. Then go run it over a curb or through grass, due to the low response the tire doesnt get affected as much by the grass thus faster corners if done right. Then go put a 1 grip 3 response on the car and see the diffence when you hit a grassy spot the car get jolted back because of the brake effect the car has.
This is not only for the DB9 but for the whole game per say. Imagine beeing able to cut corners at the test tracks it opens a whole bag of worms. The reason for this worry is that the most effect between grip and response comes from the street tire range lesser sport and then lastly the race tires dont get affected that much, but for the sport and race this is not a problem cause we can chose the tire.
By putting a lesser tire on getting better suspension or clutch or flywheel or driveline upgrade is crucial. Some cars can with a 1/1 tire no upgrades recieve a weight reduction without jumping a class. This causes problems. Trust me when I say this I have really done exstensive testing on the subject but I only stated the test I did cause it's aclear indicator. Just adjust the camber toes etc etc like you would think it would not work and remember that the tires will not pick it up straight away then you can rocket anytrack honestly.
