    BBR Pale Rider:

I'd like to report both GeorgiaDawg and Che for using the words "grief" and "griefing."  Can I do that here or should I start a separate thread?

Probably need a new thread for that one.Big Smile [:D]

If you look at the in game scoreboards the reported times we've found to this point are gone.  It seems the website scoreboards lag a bit behind the in game.

Ahhh I just noticed.  Thanks Turn 10!!!  I wonder if those who got wiped are now regretting that they cheated, or are still in total denial that they did anything wrong in the first place, like Perturbator.  Regardless, score one for the honest players of Forza 2. Big Smile [:D]

Perturbator has multiple tags seen on the leaderboard. I can not remember where, but I had seen 2 top10 times from the same tag, just spelled differently.

Jed, he changed one of them to something completely different after Friday as it was around 20th in one of the classes. I wasn't smart enough to pay attention to what position exactly and what class.

For now I think the message has been sent. All of us I'm sure will be observant down the road for any other anomilies.

If one of them does, then please let the rabid masses eat.  Don't lock it.

I messaged all of them a few days back telling them that I hoped they enjoy their 15 seconds of fame and I hope they enjoy the wipe that was coming.  Funnily enough, one of them messaged me back calling me a noob even though he was considerably behind me in the overall and had to cheat to get there.  Wish I could see the look on their grubby little faces when they log on and realize that everything has been wiped.  Frankly, I hope they do it again so the banhammer can be dropped.  The community doesn't want or need those type of people around screwing up everyone's experience.

Think I can speak for everyone here in giving a big thank you to Turn 10.  All of us who enjoy competiting on your scoreboards appreciate the stance that is being taken here to ensure a fair and cheat-free scoreboard.

Yea, I think one is Perturbator and the other is Perturbetor, along with OGCthi or somehting to that effect.  He lists all his tags on his profile.

THIS would really easy fix a LOT of problems! This is a quite good idea.
This would even fix a lot of misusing some available shortcuts
    on the tracks.

Sometimes you are faster even if you take the penalty... look at Road Atlanta
    as example.

AND... it is an easy to do...

I was thinking the exact same thing as soon as I read the first post.  A rather practical solution.  Gets rid of pushers and shortcutters at the same time.

wont work as people are getting shunted on the prior lap and dont have any penalties on the fast lap.

    They are;

    JVE Perturbetor
    JVE Perturbator
    OGCthi
    JVE OGCthi

It's weird that he does that since he really isn't that slow without cheating.  I raced him once in s class, I beat him on most tracks but he owns on laguna, funny thing is even though he beat me on laguna the last lap he slowed down before the finish line and let me take the win.  I don't understand how he is nice enough to do that but then also cheats, doesn't make any sense.

maybe I'm crazy but in d class on nurburing the guy is running 20 seconds faster than any one else on the scoreboard.  Sounds a little iffy to me.  He is running a chevelle so I tried running the chevelle.  I'm decent at handling the muscle cars and I ran a pretty good lap without penalty time while keeping a good pace and he was 20 seconds faster.  I'm pretty sure I don't suck that much.

I just checked that scoreboard on this site and I didn't see anything like that.  Perhaps it has already been removed or there was a scoreboard error when you looked.  Honestly, I expected to see ACC PorscheH6 with the time you were talking about and I was extremely surprised to see him in 9th place.  He must have run that time from a dead stop hehe.

hmm u could argue all these "cheaters" are just taking what it takes nowadays to get a top 50 lap to the extreme.  But its not "that" more extreme to running the same flavour of the track car and sitting there for hours and hours hotlapping till u get that one magic lap.

I dont like to hear this ofc but..

Hotlapping is basically a pretty poor representative of whats cool about forza 2.  Its basically picking the best handfull (or just best) car for a track and going zombie mode for 30 mins till u get the sweet lap.

Im pretty new to the game and have just discovered now if I use the flavour of the moment car for a track with a flavour of the moment setup I can just about hit those top 100 times.  But doing it is pretty boring.

much better off just racing and having fun.  And if some lemon wants to sit there getting a buddy to bash him up the rear (not literally) so he can gain an extra 0.200 on Susuka east so he can "own" <insert random guy who takes forza2 too seriously here>,  well then so be it.

Like I say im not endorsing it, but as with everything in life.  You will always get some idiot taking things to the extreme.  Let them have their moment of glorey as it really doesnt count for much in the big scheme of things :)

some people do actually find hotlapping fun, i do, georgiadawg does, if i remember correctly greeksniper does, so things like this are actually important to us

Also, before someone else says it...it doesnt' necessarily take a good chunk of the BEST hotlappers "hours and hours" to set that one "magic lap". Most of these guys can set w/in tenths of these times in a full race consistently, not just in "free run".  Also, as was pointed out, to some it is indeed more fun to race the top ghosts and more or less try to best one's self.

I'd like to point out that I use Free Run to actually test my tunes by racing against the #1 ghost on the track I am tuning the car for.  When I set my fast hotlap times, it is usually within 5 laps or less.  When I race online, I rarely use any of the scoreboard cars because I love to drive cars that I really like as opposed to driving the scoreboard cars.  However, there are a few scoreboard cars that I really love like the Stingray and Saleen S7.  Honestly, who doesn't think the Stingray is the coolest looking car that was built until the S7 came along?  I rarely if ever race S class so I don't have any S7 times but when I get around to S class, you can bet I'll be driving the S7 online (althought I may tune it down to 950 or so).

I do love this belief that guys sit around for hours and hours on one track to set a time.  Certainly, I'm not one of the upper elites of this game, but am fairly quick and I don't think I have a time posted that took me more than 5 laps.  In fact, I just got done posting a lap to #3 in the world on lap number 2.  I think people would find that the ones who are running a ton of laps to get their times are futher down the board than the top drivers.

This isn't saying much, but prior to Wipegate2007 I completed D thru A classes and only ran a MAX of 5 laps (most were only 3, especially on the TT's) on each track and EVERY one of my times was in the Top 100 with most in the Top 50 or under LOL.  Again, I know that's not saying much, but it is saying that I'm not an "elite" and I can post top times if the mood moves me without "hours and hours" of hotlapping.

Well I suck because I have to run many laps to get good times and I don't have a single top 10 so you all suck.  That being said Flexo none of those times are even drafted.... please PM me the details names included because what you posted makes no sense.
