Re: PLEASE ADD IN Exhaust looks
yeah i totally agree because i hate it when some sick looking cars have just a little twin pipe, i.e. skylines, when they have the exhaust upgrades on them and a nice downpipe would look great. plus it would hopefully add to the sound of the car as well.

ME !!!!!....
.........it'll be great if they add in new exhaust looks and manufacturers so you can choose from a HKS or an APEXi exhaust.....

Re: PLEASE ADD IN Exhaust looks
I'd love some exhausts to choose from. The sounds need to be worked as well. I also thing the Blow Off Valves sould be louder since some cars are pushing 20 PSI. 20 or more PSI is gonna make some noise through a BOV, also the screw type superchagers don't have that unique sound. Ever hear what a Kenne Bell supercharged Ford Cobra sounds like?

Thats what they should sounds like. So I hope they give use exhaust systems, exhaust sounds, change the sound of the screw superchargers, louder BOV's!

Re: PLEASE ADD IN Exhaust looks
Granted, my word is a little late, I'll add it anyway.
Going back on the arguments of "it's a race simulator, not a design simulator". If Turn10 was to follow that strictly, we'd just go back to Gran Turismo. That is a strict simulator. Paint your car, different wheels, and that's about it. All the cars sound the same, only dealer paint, your car never actually lowers when you change the spring height (at least not in most of the games), add a roll cage and it never appears in the windows. Your upgrades would make a difference in performance, but not in appearance, when it otherwise should have. I understand that it's just a racing simulator, but one of the great things about FM2, at least for me, was that it pulls out the asthetics card. Now when I make a professional series worthy car from the dealer, I can actually make it look like it's a race car.
I argue both ways. FM2 already has plenty of appearance things, and we should be more concerned with how the car acts rather than how it looks. HOWEVER, if this is a simulator, I ask you this, if you're racing, how do you guess if your opponent will beat you, or vice-versa?
Most of the time, you look for what you can see. To me that can add a bit to the only element. I could look at another's car and see the muffler, and if it's a gigantic canister style muffler turned as far to the right as it can possibly turn, and the body kits and wheels are huge and unneded, I can probably say "They're either a sleeper, or some idiot who's watched The Fast and the Furious a little too much" Or if in the beginning of the race, I hear my opponent's Integra give a very loud hiss of a blow off valve, I might lean towards sleeper.
Also, the muffler sounds are spot on, definatly, but only to one manufacturer per car. I'm sure most of us have heard a ricey Honda fly by with an APC muffler, or something really high pitched. But did you know that a Honda can have a deeper sound with a Megan racing cat back? I want to see a racing simulator that will let us choose our muffler from real life manufacturers, and have the exhaust note change accordingly, the same with the performance muffler. For example, a Flowmaster is built to create a vacuum that will suck the exhaust out, taking some of the work away from the engine, increasing hp. However not all mufflers do this, but can sound better. And sometimes the backpressure is a good thing.
I understand, however, that this takes time and memory on the discs. I will be patient, but adding several more asthetic choices, along with the addition of BOV sounds, or different muffler sounds would be a great addition.
One more thing: Large bodykits should be added, but not because I like them. Because when you add a large bodykit, and lower your car enough, they'll bottom out and break, eventually falling off. Simlation? I think so.
Let's have a simulator that not only simulates performance, but let's us do it in a car that actually is from our dreams, rather than limiting us to 3 bodykits or less.
Thank you.

No. We won't. All of my cars look rediculous with the puny stock exhaust tips! Especially when it sounds so good.

Dang, you said it all right there.
Just think a 180sx with a 3 inch crooked exhaust!!
That'd be awesome, but like you said with the BOVs too, and a deep sounding honda. And like the guy above me said, touge needs to be brought back too. So we can have a proper track to race our hondas on, and kill V8s lol.
Well here's to hoping!
EDIT: The guy above him.

Re: PLEASE ADD IN Exhaust looks
S13KAT: Cannon x Fodder:
xDownshift:Thats what the NFS series is for. It's a racing sim, where they allow you to customize your car a bit. It's not ABOUT customizing your car. I've done replica paintjobs, but I think that's a bit more understandable than wanting a huge exhaust. Do you ever look at your exhaust in a race and complain? If you do, chances are you SHOULD be playing NFS.
And, P.S. You lose a lot of back pressure with those huge ass exhausts.
Please tell me that was sarcasm. Back pressure has so little to do with exhaust that it is laughable when people make this comment. Yes if you put diesel exhaust on a 4 cyl engine you will lose low end power and your top end will suffer also, but if anybody is that ignorant then they deserve the consequences. Increasing the size of your exhaust (with in reason) will only help your performance. I mean hell, I gained close to 25 horsepower and over 30 lb/ft just by switch my stock 2.0" exhaust to 3".
Thank God this is not a tech forum because there's so much mis-information about cars going on in here that I feel I am getting dumber by the minute.
+1 The whole thing with people acting like they know tech on cars is expected. They think just because they play a simulation car game they know cars and tech... And that is where ricers come from hahahaha. Sad but true.
Which is all well and good if you've got a turbo'd car... hence why you gained 25hp - as turbo's work better with less backpressure in the pipe, as backpressure slows the turbine down. This is why by swapping a standard system for a freer flowing one, you usually see the boost creep up as a side effect. On NA cars tho, backpressure is a good thing and by simply sticking a 3" bore exhaust on, you're going to see next to no increase, more likely a decrease over stock as naturally aspirated engines rely on exhaust backpressure to promote scavenging at the head. A correctly designed manifold on an NA car will yield better gains than simply fitting a drainpipe on it. Edited to add, I replied to this off the first or second page - didn't notice it had been posted quite a few times after that! My bad :)
